Hogwarts: Voldemort, don't stop me from studying
Chapter 116 Visit
Chapter 116 Visit
Newt Scamander and his family live in seclusion on a hillside in Dorset, southern England.
It is surrounded by green and soft grass. Standing at the door, you can see the Muggle village in the distance.
Of course, the same spells were cast here as at Hogwarts, and to a Muggle the hill looked like just some bare rocks.
Steven opened the door with familiarity, and faced a winding garden path.
A group of fairies accompanied by butterflies flew among the flowers as big as bowls, which was very dreamy.
There was a rustling sound among the grass leaves, and a brown-yellow cat poked its head out. It stared at Wade warily, its big ears trembling slightly.
Then came the second group of Kneazles, who were naturally alert and could detect people of bad character.
"Hi, Hobby, Millie." Steven squatted down and said cheerfully, "Long time no see, did you miss me?"
When Hobby saw him, he let down his guard, climbed on top of Steven, and made sounds like a baby.
Another catkin approached Wade, rubbed its claws on his pants modestly, and then climbed up his legs. Wade quickly picked it up.
"Millie likes you very much." Steven looked very happy: "They are Mr. Scamander's pets. There is also one named Moller who doesn't like to go out very much."
The two walked along the gravel path into the yard and saw Newt Scamander already at the bottom of the steps, with a pointy-eared kneazle lazily lying at his feet.
Newt Scamander is ninety-five years old.
He is not as young and shy as in the movies. The years have given him gray hair and subtle wrinkles, but it has not changed his innocent and serious qualities.
His eyes were still clear, and his body was slightly tilted, as if he was unconsciously avoiding other people's gazes, appearing a little restrained.
Even though the two people in front of him were far inferior to Newt Scamander in terms of age, social status, and magical ability, he did not show any condescension.
Like a child who is afraid of being hurt but is easily hurt by evil.
"Good morning, Steven." Newt looked at Wade stiffly and said, "Welcome, Mr. Wade Grey."
Wade bowed and said, "Please call me Wade. I have always admired you. I am sorry for causing you trouble by visiting me without permission."
"No." Newt said softly: "I am very happy that there are excellent little wizards who are willing to learn these things."
A boy with brown curly hair came out from behind Newt and smiled brightly at Wade: "Hello! I heard that the Book of Friends was your invention?"
“Be polite, Rolf,” Newt said, neither lightly nor heavily.
Obviously, he was not a dignified grandfather in the eyes of his grandson. Rolf made a secret face and stretched out his hand.
"Hello, I'm Rolf—Rolf Scamander."
The boy grinned and said, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Weed Grey, the inventor of the Book of Friends."
"Hello." Wade also shook hands with him.
"Would you like to visit my grandfather's zoo? Come with me, I'll be your guide!"
Rolf pulled Wade forward enthusiastically, and Newt and Steven followed behind with smiles on their faces.
"I heard that you went to the United States before?" Steven asked.
"Yes, to meet an old friend." Newt sighed and said, "About seventy years ago, I sent it to the United States. I didn't expect that now, I would send it away from this world again."
Steven knew that the old friend he was talking about was a thunderbird, and said in surprise: "I remember that thunderbirds should have a long lifespan?" "It was injured too badly to protect its children, and it didn't wait for treatment." Newt said sadly: "You know, they can summon lightning and storms, so they are often targeted by poachers."
Steven said angrily: "Damn poachers! I have always dreamed of seeing the Thunderbird with my own eyes, and they dared to hurt it!"
"Then you can make your dream come true today."
Newt forced a smile. "After Frank died, its child lost its shelter. I brought it back to protect it."
Rolf didn't pay any attention to what his grandfather was saying to Steven. He excitedly said to Wade:
"The Book of Friends is a wonderful invention! Everyone in our family has one. My grandmother has the most. She has three!"
"I have one too! One with my grandfather, one with my grandmother, one with my father, one with my mother, and one with my uncle... Chatting on paper is more fun than face to face!"
"That's one thing! The information is saved for too short a time! Sometimes I wake up from a nap and miss my mother's message, and she complains - ah, I have to go in from here!"
He placed a brown suitcase on the ground and opened it, then crawled in first, leaving only the upper half of his body outside. He turned around and waved to Wade.
Then the whole person disappeared as if he was eaten by the box.
Wade had seen this scene in a movie in his previous life. He smiled and followed in.
The entrance to the suitcase is quite narrow, but the space inside has been expanded by magic to be like a small portable world.
Going down the stairs, there was a small house that looked like a storage room. There were many things in it, many of which looked quite old, and Wade didn't have time to take a closer look.
"Come on!"
Rolf shouted from the front and opened the wooden door in the room which looked not very sturdy.
"Gah-"
There was a hoarse groaning sound from the joints of the wooden door, and the smell of cool water vapor and animals filled the air.
A vast world suddenly appeared before my eyes in an impactful manner.
Vader couldn't help but hold his breath, his heart beating like a drum.
Experiencing this in person, being in this magical space created by magic, is so different from seeing it on a movie screen.
For a moment, he felt like his breath was taken away from him.
Magic...what a wonderful power...
Rolf had been playing here since he was a child, and he was already used to it, so he couldn't understand Wade's shock. Seeing him standing there in a daze, he pulled his arm and walked to the side.
"Come this way, I'll show you the new residents here!"
The two of them had not walked far when a golden desert appeared before them, with several giant stone pillars in the center.
In the depression of the stone pillar, there lay a young bird with three pairs of wings and a long thin tail. It fell asleep with its eyes closed, and its feathers swayed gently in the breeze.
Rolf made a gesture of silence, tiptoed over with Wade, and then motioned for him to gently extend his finger like he did.
