Chapter 200 Kreacher and Regulus
Kreacher's muttering stopped.

His light-colored eyes bulged like bullfrogs as he stared at Wade and asked in a very soft voice, "Master Regulus's...funeral?"

He seemed to doubt what he heard.

"Hey, this guy can hear it all the time!" said Ron angrily.

During this half day they had to clean the room with difficulty while enduring Kreacher's insults. Ron cursed at him a few times, but the other party ignored him completely.

Ron barely refrained from beating the house-elf up when Hermione said he was confused and didn't know what he was talking about.

The two people in the center of his sight paid no attention to his words.

Vader did so much, not to be an unknown hero at this time. He simply said:
"Not long ago, we found the body of Mr. Regulus Black in a cave, along with a locket and a note he had left for someone."

"We know that he made a great sacrifice in the fight against Voldemort, so Sirius decided that he should have a proper funeral. That's why he came back here to clean up the house, and that's why we came to help."

Kreacher opened his mouth in shock, but the locket and note that Vader mentioned made Kreacher believe him immediately.

His body was shaking and trembling, and he asked in a hoarse voice: "Then... Master Regulus... he is now..."

"Sirius just took him to the bedroom." Wade said, "If you came out earlier, you could see them..."

Before he finished his words, there was a loud bang in the room, and Kreacher disappeared from Wade's sight.

Everyone knew that he must be going upstairs to greet his long-lost master.

Vader stood up and everyone stared at him in amazement.

"The house-elves have a wonderful connection with the house. As long as he understands the purpose of doing this and no longer hates and rejects us, the cleaning work will become easy."

"And even though he's very old, what he can do is extraordinary. Don't think of him as just another old man," Vader explained.

"Uh..." Theo looked at the person next to him and asked, "Wade, how do you know he will definitely cooperate in the future?"

Wade raised his eyebrows: "Didn't Harry say that? Regulus loved him very much when he was alive... The feelings of house elves are very pure. He must have loved Regulus very much as well, and was even willing to do anything for him."

The room fell silent for a moment.

For example, Percy was still standing on the stairs to the second floor, but he inexplicably felt that he needed to look up at the second-year student at the entrance of the hall.

"Well... I want to ask..." Wade looked at everyone and said strangely: "Why didn't you tell Kreacher the purpose of our coming here?"

Everyone looked at each other.

"He started cursing as soon as he showed up, so..."

"I was too busy arguing with him!"

"I thought he was hard of hearing and couldn't hear clearly..."

"There's no need to repeat things that everyone knows, right?"

"Funerals and the like, it's kind of sad to think about them..."

"It's busy enough to do so much work..."

Everyone explained at once, trying to prove that they were not that stupid, but just didn't have the time at the moment.

Then they all looked at Lupin.

——It's fine for all of us. You and Sirius have been here for so long, haven't you said anything?
Lupin smiled bitterly, and an inexplicable force prompted him to explain:

"I think... mentioning these things will increase Sirius' pain, so..."

Suddenly, a heart-wrenching cry came from upstairs. Even though it came through the winding corridor, it was still heartbreaking.

Lupin paused and said, "I'll go up and take a look..."

"I'm going too!" Harry said hurriedly.

Lupin hesitated: "Okay... Vader, you come too, okay?" "Of course." Vader said without hesitation.

Lupin looked at the others.

"Don't worry about what to do to us." Fred offered, "Just go ahead... We just need to take a break."

"Well, there's butterbeer in the kitchen, help yourself to some."

Lupin finished hurriedly, and the three of them went upstairs.

Lupin and the other two quickly walked up the creaking stairs. Wade didn't have time to look at the dim portrait on the wall, but he couldn't ignore the head of the house-elf hanging next to it.

Soon they reached the fifth floor and could hear the sound of Kreacher banging his head against the floor from a distance.

"Kreacher failed to carry out Master Regulus's orders... Kreacher was unable to destroy the locket..."

He hit the ground, crying loudly, and apologized to his dead young master in an indistinct voice.

"Stop, Kreacher," said Sirius in a remarkably calm voice. "Tell me everything! How Regulus died, what orders he gave you! And what about the locket!"

The door was not closed. When Wade and the others walked to the door, they saw a black coffin placed in the dimly lit bedroom.

Sirius sat on the ground, his back leaning against the coffin. His expression could not be seen in the darkness, only that his eyes seemed to emit a faint light.

Kreacher fell to the ground and cried bitterly. Then, driven by the order, he gasped for breath and narrated the whole incident in great pain.

Regulus, who was proud of his pure blood, joined the Death Eaters at the age of 16. A year later, because the Dark Lord needed a house-elf, he contributed Kreacher.

He probably thought the Dark Lord just needed a servant to command, and that this was an honor.

But the Dark Lord took Kreacher to the cave, ordered him to drink the potion, and watched him being dragged into the water by the Inferi to test the protection of the Horcruxes.

But he didn't expect Kreacher to go back. Because when he left home, Regulus told him to go home after completing the task, so he Apparated back home.

Voldemort overlooked the fact that the magic of house-elves was different from that of wizards, and his anti-Apparition spell had no effect on Kreacher.

After Regulus learned what happened, he was very worried and asked Kreacher to hide and not leave the house. After a while, he asked Kreacher to take him to the cave.

But this time, he drank the poison himself.

He ordered Kreacher to leave him alone and not to tell his mother what he had done, but to destroy the locket. However, the locket was enchanted with such a powerful magic that Kreacher was unable to complete his master's last command.

The house elf finished speaking and fell to the ground crying, his face covered with tears and snot. Sirius sat in front of him and didn't say a word for a long time.

Vader nudged Harry.

Harry, who was so shocked by the story that he was speechless, staggered and took several steps to steady himself.

After his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw Sirius, whose face was already in tears.

The boy's nose was sore, and he felt that he was tongue-tied and didn't know how to comfort his godfather. He hesitated for a moment, opened his arms, and hugged his godfather.

Sirius, whose vision was blocked, turned terribly pale, his hands were clenched, his body was shaking, and after a long time, he let out a hoarse cry.

Lupin sighed softly, feeling both shocked and relieved.

Relieved that Sirius could finally cry instead of pretending to be normal.

But he had only ever seen wizards making house-elves serve and sacrifice for them, but he had never seen a wizard sacrifice his own life to protect a house-elf.

Wade stood at the door, not stepping into the room that was completely filled with sadness. Hearing the voice beside him, he whispered, "Remus, comfort Kreacher... I'll go inform Dumbledore."

After the last trip to the cave, Wade sent Dumbledore a friend's note, and they were finally able to communicate directly.

Such an important matter as the authenticity of the Horcruxes should naturally be reported to Dumbledore immediately. Kreacher must know the whereabouts of the missing locket.

Lupin nodded without thinking and walked into the room. Vader looked at them deeply before turning and leaving.
