Hogwarts: Voldemort, don't stop me from studying

Chapter 39 Griffiths' Farewell Ceremony

Chapter 39 Griffiths' Farewell Ceremony

After borrowing the book, Wade continued to ask questions - the content of Charms had been explained in great detail in Professor Flitwick's book, so he asked about spells related to Defense Against the Dark Arts, such as the Shield Charm, the Disarming Charm, the Obstacle Charm, and so on.

He knew what the level of the Defense Against the Dark Arts course at Hogwarts was. Professor Flitwick did not ask him to consult Quirrell, but explained it in detail and patiently, and finally lent him a few more books.

Wade was very grateful.

There is only one magic school, Hogwarts, in the whole of the UK. The professors in the school neither examine KPIs nor publicly compare pass rates and excellent rates. They also do not conduct year-end assessments or performance appraisals. The professors in the school really teach based on their conscience. There are serious and responsible ones, some who just slack off all day, and some who teach whatever they want and do not care at all about the fact that students still have to take wizard level exams.

After asking the question, Wade remembered Griffiths' commission and asked, "Professor, there is a portrait complaining that his current place is too quiet and wants me to help him move to the lively lobby. Is that okay?"

Professor Flitwick asked, "Is there a portrait of an official position?"

Some portraits at Hogwarts serve as guards, such as the portrait of the Fat Lady outside the Gryffindor Common Room, which naturally cannot be moved easily.

Wade thought for a moment and said, "Probably not. He said he was originally in the lobby, but later moved to the Astronomy Tower to make room for other portraits."

"Oh, I know who you're talking about." Professor Flitwick smiled. "Griffiths was moved out mainly because many portraits complained that he disturbed their sleep and instigated Peeves to play pranks on the Ministry of Magic officials who came to inspect the school. The headmaster and professors at the time thought he should be taught a lesson, so he was moved to the most deserted place in the school."

"What about his request—" Vader asked tentatively.

"It's not a sin to like crowds," said Professor Flitwick tolerantly. "As long as he promises not to encourage Peeves to cause trouble again, you can move him to another place. But I'm afraid the entrance hall won't work. Many of the portraits in the entrance hall have a problem with Griffiths."

……

"Oh, okay, okay. But I really don't understand why they don't like pranks? Pranks can bring a lot of joy to people!"

Griffiths argued for himself while quickly moving back and forth between the portraits around him.

"Hey, old man, I'm leaving now. Salome, I'd be happy if you wrote to me during your spare time, though I don't know if I could receive it. Barry, and dear Francesco, thank you for your hospitality. This is a return gift!"

After taking off the portrait, Wade watched Griffiths turn the stargazer's telescope 180 degrees, snatch the quill and ink from the witch with glasses, and finally pour the ink on the head of a naughty child and stuff the quill into the nostrils of another naughty child.

After provoking all the portraits, he quickly rushed back to his own portrait and urged Wade loudly: "Go! Go!"

But the portraits didn't care about the distance. Although Wade had already left the corridor with the portrait in his arms, the characters in the portraits still chased into Griffiths' territory, pinned the red-haired wizard down and beat him up.

The witch with glasses was furious for the first time. She kicked Griffiths hard and screamed, "Do you know how long I have been calculating? How long!"

The naughty kids seemed to be using Griffiths as a trampoline, jumping and bouncing on him and shouting loudly.

The old man who was stargazing finally caught up and hammered twice with all his strength. Then he seemed to have sprained his waist. He held his waist and went back with a painful look on his face.

Wade naturally couldn't interfere with the fight in the portrait. After everyone dispersed, he looked at Griffiths, who looked like a puddle of mud, and asked helplessly: "We are about to leave, why did you get beaten like this?"

"Haha, you don't understand." Griffiths turned over with the footprint on his forehead, lying on the grass in the valley, and laughed heartily: "Isn't this the best farewell ceremony?"

Vader really didn't understand.

Griffiths put his hands behind his head, looked at the sky and said, "I don't want to leave quietly, so they may have to wait a long time to realize - ah, the red-haired guy seems to be gone; I don't want to be sad and tearful when I say goodbye, it's better to have a fight and everyone is happy at the end, isn't it?" Wade thought for a moment: "So it's - everyone is happy, and only you are hurt. The world is achieved, is that right?"

Griffiths was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter: "Wade, it turns out you also have a good sense of humor!"

As he smiled, the messy scene in the portrait slowly recovered—the footprints on Griffiths' body disappeared, the torn robe was restored, the flowers and plants that were trampled straightened up, and the broken branches on the trees grew back.

Only the bruises on his face had not completely disappeared.

"Griffiths, you must be a Gryffindor yourself, right?" Wade asked as he hung the portrait on the wall.

"Of course! You can tell at a glance, right?" Griffiths tried to look around while holding onto the picture frame. "What is this place?"

"You can't go back to the foyer. This is the only way from the auditorium to the library. Almost all students pass by here every day. It should meet your requirements." Wade said.

"Oh, good, good." Griffiths was very satisfied.

In the corridor, some portraits quietly observed this "newcomer", and some even gathered together to whisper.

Hermione happened to pass by with a pile of books, and there were two familiar people beside her - Harry and Ron. They had probably just returned from the library and were arguing in low voices.

"I'll bet my broomstick that it was Snape who let the troll in! He wanted to steal what was guarded by the three-headed dog," Harry said, holding his breath.

"No, he won't!" Hermione said angrily, "You can't make malicious assumptions about the professors at school like that!"

"Hermione, you always think that the teachers in the school are saints!" Ron said impatiently, "But I told you - I! Saw! It! With! My! Eyes! When the troll appeared, I went to find you, and I saw Snape sneaking upstairs with my own eyes! Harry also saw Snape's leg bitten and bleeding. Why do you ignore these facts and believe him just because he is a professor?"

"I believe him not only because he is a professor at the school, but also because of Dumbledore! If he was a bad guy, Dumbledore would not have failed to see it for more than ten years!"

Hermione strode angrily, no longer wanting to argue with them. She shouted, "Hey, Wade, are you going to study? Let's go together."

"Well - OK." Hermione's attitude made it impossible to refuse. Wade nodded to Harry and Ron, then turned and left with Hermione.

"--It's unreasonable, isn't it?" Ron frowned. "Can't Dumbledore be deceived by Snape? Even Merlin can be fooled sometimes!"

Harry nodded silently, he still firmly believed that Snape was the bad guy.

"Good afternoon, students!" An enthusiastic voice came from the wall: "You are all Gryffindors, right? I am also a Gryffindor. I am Griffiths, what about you?"

Ron said, "That's Harry Potter and I'm Ron Weasley. I don't think we've met you before?"

"Yes, because I just moved here today!" Griffiths recalled: "Weasley and Potter, I seem to have known wizards with this surname before, they should be your ancestors, right?"

"really?"

Now even Harry became interested, and the two temporarily forgot about the previous topic and started chatting about the portrait on the wall.
