Chapter 994 Pursuit
Chapter 994 Pursuit
Grimson's sneak attack was faster than anyone could have imagined, and even the ever-vigilant Braun couldn't dodge it in time.
He jerked his head back, and the silver light still struck Braun's face!
Abigail was startled and exclaimed, "Brown!"
Just as a sinister smile appeared on Grimson's face, Braun suddenly moved!
He no longer concealed his inhuman speed and strength, his body shooting out like a cannonball, his fist slamming heavily into the old monster's withered chest!
"Crack!"
A crisp sound of bones cracking rang out, and before Grimson could even scream, his body was sent flying backward, crashing heavily onto the table. The wooden table shattered, and various debris fell to the ground with a clatter.
"Ugh..."
He let out a scream, struggling with his short limbs, unable to get up for a moment.
However, his withered fingers held the wand firmly and did not let go.
He barely opened his eyes, which were almost completely covered in blood, and saw a foot rapidly enlarging in front of him!
"boom--!!!"
Abigail gripped her wand, watching helplessly as Grimson's body, like a rolling ball, smashed through the wall and flew out.
While still in mid-air, he spat out a mouthful of blood mist, which seemed to contain fragments of some internal organs.
But this goblin's vitality was extraordinary. He rolled four or five meters on the ground before stopping, and then immediately forced himself to lift his upper body up. A terrifying fierce light flashed in his eyes, and he raised his wand and swung it forcefully!
In an instant, the entire room seemed to come alive—the mortar rolled and smashed towards Braun, the thick books on the bookshelf unfolded and their pages flew up automatically, and sharp teeth grew out to tear at the two of them, the tables, chairs and kettle bounced and smashed over, and even the walls themselves sprouted thin branches that coiled around them like venomous snakes!
Faced with an overwhelming attack, an ordinary person might be caught off guard and find themselves in dire straits, but Abigail and Braun are no ordinary people.
One of them used an explosive spell to shatter all the suddenly moving objects in front of them, while the other dodged and weaved in the confined space, not only avoiding any attacks but also violently destroying most of Grimson's carefully prepared trap.
In those brief ten seconds, Grimson quickly drank a potion, then, enduring the excruciating pain, staggered to his feet and pointed his wand at Braun, who was dealing with the cauldron and fire tongs.
"call out--"
A beam of silver light shot out and struck Braun again, but the spell had no effect...
No, it's not completely ineffective.
Braun suddenly stopped, the fire tongs were inserted directly into his shoulder, but he completely ignored it and pulled them out forcefully.
When he turned his head, Grimson saw that the man's face looked as if it had melted, losing all its features, flowing downwards and collapsing, forming a strange, wave-like arc.
The scene was enough to make anyone feel physically nauseous and terrified. Grimson's SAN value plummeted almost to the bottom in an instant. He was completely stunned and even forgot to continue operating the flying devices.
This was the first time he had ever realized that his curse could have such a terrifying effect.
Braun seized the moment of pause, smashing the cabinet that rushed towards him with a whip kick, and knocking away the surrounding mortars and crucibles. Various items crashed against the walls and floor, leaving the hut in a mess, and the attack came to an abrupt halt!
Immediately afterwards, he let out a low roar and charged towards the old monster!
Grimson was terrified and turned to run away, at the same time his wand trembled again!
But this time, the silver light didn't strike the demonic Braun, but instead hit the panting Abigail directly!
"protect me!"
He screamed, his piercing voice shattering the silence of the forest. Abigail froze, her eyes instantly becoming vacant. Then, without hesitation, she turned her wand, and a beam of red light shot out towards Braun's back!
"boom!"
Braun stumbled, and his dagger flew from his hand, striking a basket beside the hut. Though unharmed, his pursuit was abruptly halted.
Taking advantage of the situation, Grimson scrambled and crawled into the woods, his screams echoing in the distance:
"Kill him, Abigail!"
Abigail's eyes flashed, she raised her wand and pointed it at Braun, saying without hesitation, "Avada Kedavra!"
Braun rolled away, dodging the deadly green light. The spell struck the wall, creating a huge explosion.
At the same time, Braun's furious roar exploded: "You bastard! Are you asleep?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Abigail's cloak suddenly came to life. It tightened up and wrapped Abigail tightly from head to toe, leaving only her nostrils open to breathe. Even her wand was snatched away and tossed aside.
A voice came from the cloak:
"Hey! Don't wrong me! You were the one who insisted that I disguise myself as an ordinary cloak, or you wouldn't take me with you! How was I supposed to know you'd almost be defeated by an old, ugly little dwarf?"
"Speaking of which, his magic that specifically targets consciousness is terrifying! Luckily, it wasn't aimed at me, otherwise I don't know if I would still be able to keep my mind clear... Huh? Braun? Where is he?"
Braun had already darted out like a cheetah, following the scent of blood and footprints left by Grimson.
Abigail was still struggling and writhing, groaning in her throat.
However, once her mind was controlled, she was left with almost only instinctive reactions, and this power naturally could not break free from the cloak's restraint.
While suppressing her resistance, the cloak murmured and coaxed her:
"Calm down, ma'am! Don't fall for that old man's brainwashing magic! Have you forgotten your pride?"
"Hey, if this keeps up, don't blame me if you get hurt! I'm just doing my job... Blame that ice-cold guy, oh, he chased after him..."
"That wretched guy! He's the only one enjoying the fight, while he treats me, his only companion, either by making me play dumb or by using me as a chain. Just wait until I tell on him..."
Having held it in for many days, the cloak was now bursting with the urge to confide. It rambled on and on, not noticing when Abigail quieted down and stopped struggling.
After a while, the cloak suddenly realized that Abigail seemed to have returned to normal, so it carefully released her mouth.
Then, the cloak heard a calm voice:
"Are you a puppet?"
After a pause, the woman asked again:
"So... Braun too?"
【——Oh my!】
The cloaked figure thought to himself: [Damn it! It seems my secret has been exposed... Should I silence them?]
