Chapter 273 Li Yingtai and Buddhism, why the Buddha statues in Chang'an could not withstand Li Yingtai's kneeling worship

The sky above the Daming Palace.

A pool of lightning liquid flashing with hot white light gradually engulfed the red flames.

And in the thunder pool.

The soldier Jin Chan's skin and flesh turned into a fluttering cloak, and only a skeleton remained of his body.

The bones in his left and right hands turned into long swords, and the twenty-four ribs turned into long spears that stabbed outwards.

The legs turned into curved blades.

On the other side, Li Cunxiao was like a giant spirit, with white light emanating from his eyes, and even the foul air he exhaled turned into wisps of flames.

Facing the golden cicada that was beyond his comprehension, he did not feel the slightest curiosity or fear. He only had one thought in mind: to defeat it with his long spear.

Every time the weapons clashed, the surge of lightning and lava was like a volcanic eruption.

What surprised Jin Chan a little was that after just a few months of not seeing Li Cunxiao, he had become much stronger. Compared with that day at Hangu Pass, he had completely changed and was like a completely different person.

"But, you still have to lose to me."

Since it is to warn Wu Li, it naturally cannot be delayed too long.

Jin Chan put his hands together, and his two hand bones were intertwined and transformed into a huge black axe that was bigger than Li Cunxiao's.

The giant axe chopped down, bringing with it a surging pool of thunder and liquid, as if the world was created.

This blow was powerful and heavy.

Li Cunxiao was smashed to the ground like a falling meteor, creating a huge pit a hundred meters across.

For a moment, the entire Daming Palace seemed to be shaking.

Wu Li, who was holding on to her hands and looking pale, almost lost her balance and fell to the ground.

"Is this the strength of Jin Chan? How terrifying! The most powerful general in the Tang Dynasty was defeated in just a few breaths."

"Big brother's strength is more than just this. He didn't use his full strength. Your Highness, Chang'an will definitely not be able to keep big brother."

Xiao Luoyang helped Wu Li up, and these seemingly ordinary words actually had two meanings.

First, Jin Chan would not agree to stay in Tang and would return to Qin after some time.

The second is that even if Wu Li wanted to use some abnormal means, it would definitely not work.

It seemed like a simple communication, but it contained a hint of threat and warning.

"Thank you Miss Luoyang for reminding me. I understand now."

Wu Li's eyes darkened, as if she was thinking about something.

On the other side of the battlefield, after the smoke and dust cleared.

Li Cunxiao dragged his bloody body out of the pit.

"awesome."

He first laughed loudly, then threw the Fengzhe Ji in his hand, raised his head and said to Jin Chan above the pit: "Let's fight again in a year."

"Go away. We'll fight again next time when you can gather the energy of a million soldiers."

After Jin Chan finished speaking, he threw a pill towards Li Cunxiao: "Eat it and your serious injury will be healed."

Jin Chan actually had some other considerations for Li Cunxiao and Xiang Yu.

National destiny and military spirit, these two things are known as the greatest treasures of the Central Plains.

There are none of the golden cicadas.

And Ying Lou only controls the destiny of the country.

"Okay, in less than a year, I will be able to gather the energy of a million soldiers, and then I will come to fight you. You must not hide from me."

Baji, Baji, as the pill entered the stomach.

Li Cunxiao was surprised to find that his physical injuries had almost recovered.

"Okay, as long as you are still in the Tang army, we will naturally have a battle."

Say it.

Jin Chan and Li Yingtai continued to move towards the harem.

After arriving at the bedroom.

Wu Li and Xiao Luoyang, who looked a little unhappy, had been waiting for a long time.

Even the guy Tang Qianyan showed up here with his two kids.

"Dad, you are so awesome, hurry up and teach Fifteen."

"Dad, teach the moon too."

Shiwu and Yueliang seemed to be very interested in Jinchan's thunder magic. After seeing Jinchan, they immediately abandoned their master Tangqianyan.

"Okay, I'll teach you two in the next few days."

Jin Chan picked up the two children, one in each hand, and sat on the round chair in the main seat.

"Hey, hey, Master still has some secret skills, are you two planning to defect from the sect?"

Everyone was having a great time while playing and frolicking, except Wu Li.

Even Li Yingtai, the King of Tang, temporarily put the affairs of Qin behind him and enjoyed this moment of warmth.

"Sir, it's rare for you to see your father once every fifteenth and full moon, and you've finally come to Chang'an, so why don't you stay a few more days before leaving?"

During the meal, Wu Li poured wine for Jin Chan while speaking politely.

"After celebrating the New Year in Chang'an, I plan to return to Xianyang. After all, the King of Qin's coming-of-age ceremony will be held after the New Year."

Although Ying Lou was already over 20 years old, he had not held the coming-of-age ceremony due to his health and the intervention of Zhao Ji.

After conquering Qi this time, Ying Lou planned to hold the coming-of-age ceremony early so that he could officially start sending troops to the Central Plains and unify the world as soon as possible.

"That's fine. My Lord, you should enjoy the excitement of the Lantern Festival in Chang'an."

After Wu Li said this softly, she called the eunuch outside the house to heat up another pot of good wine for Jin Chan and the others.

"Jin Chan, please stay with me during this time."

Upon hearing that Jin Chan would stay in Chang'an for some time, the happiest person among these people was Li Yingtai.

"That's natural."

Jin Chan smiled gently, and when he raised his glass to clink glasses with everyone, he secretly glanced at Wu Li out of the corner of his eye.

There is still more than a month until the Lantern Festival.

The following days were the most relaxing time for Jin Chan since he was born.

day.

Jin Chan and Li Yingtai would change into casual clothes and wander the streets and alleys of Chang'an City, feeling the daily life and happiness of ordinary people.

When you get tired of shopping, just find a small restaurant and ask the waiter to serve you Chang'an delicacies.

It has to be said that although Chang'an City had experienced the ravages of the old King of Tang and Li Tai, it had long been completely renewed under the administration of Li Yingtai, and even the population had increased a lot, which was in no way inferior to Xianyang in Qin.

Even the prosperity among the people is much greater.

However, they only spent about ten days in their world of two, and Tangqianyan shamelessly brought Shiwu, Yueliang, and Xiao Luoyang to join them.

Although it was already winter, the scenery in Chang'an was not like that in spring and summer, and the wind was a bit cold, but the group still went to Leyouyuan, Qujiang River, Baliu and other places, and had a lot of fun there.

At night.

Although there was a curfew in Chang'an, the neighborhood was bustling with activity.

After eating and drinking, they returned to the Daming Palace.

Each doing his own thing.

time flies.

In the blink of an eye, it was the New Year's Day. As the saying goes, a piece of colorful clouds greets the dawn, and thousands of red candles bring spring.

On this day, at dawn, all civil and military officials lined up according to their rank and went to Hanyuan Hall to meet the King of Tang.

The red candlelight illuminated the Daming Palace brightly.

Because today was also a special day for the Qin State, it was not until after noon that Ying Lou, Huayang, and Hong Wenyu met with the ministers in the Qilin Hall of the Afang Palace, and then Ying Lou hurried back to his bedroom to rest.

"Big brother, Sister Yingtai asked us to come over and experience the New Year in Chang'an."

When Jin Chan got up, the first thing he saw was Xiao Luoyang lying on the side of the bed.

"Then let's go."

When I arrived at the harem, I saw a round table made of pear wood, filled with all kinds of cakes and drinks.

Of course, they also include Tusu wine, five-spice plate, fake flower fruit and gummi rice cakes, which are commonly eaten by the people of Chang'an during festivals.

"Jinchan, I won't go to Xingshan Temple later. You can go with mother, Shiwu, Yueliang, and Xiao Luoyang."

Rolling his eyes at Tangqianyan who was drinking Tusu wine, Li Yingtai deliberately did not mention his name.

"Sister-in-law, I am now the master of Fifteen and Moon after all, can't you show me some respect?"

Looking at the grinning Tang Qianyan, even after more than a month, she still couldn't connect the guy in front of her with the rumored first emperor Lin Yao.

"Okay, stop messing around. Yingtai, you don't want to go to the temple, is it because of what happened before?"

Jin Chan put down his chopsticks and asked Li Yingtai.

"Well, I haven't been to any temple since I was four years old. Even though I am now the King of Tang, I didn't go to Xingshan Temple to worship Buddha on New Year's Day last year in order not to scare the people."

In front of these people, Li Yingtai did not put on any airs like the King of Tang. He was just like the day when he just came out of the Southern Wilderness, completely free and unrestrained.

"Brother Jin, what happened to my sister-in-law? Why haven't I heard you mention it before?"

Tang Qianyan asked curiously.

"There are so many things you don't know!"

In order to prevent the two from continuing to quarrel, Jin Chan repeated what Li Yingtai had told him at the beginning.

When Li Yingtai was about four years old, she went with her mother Wu Li to the largest temple in Chang'an City, Xingshen Temple, to worship Buddha.

It was just that when Li Yingtai knelt on the mat and kowtowed for the first time.

All the Buddha statues in the temple cracked and shattered into pieces the moment her head hit the ground.

Even the golden Buddha statue was cracked in two.

From that day on, the whole Chang'an City was filled with rumors that a person who was despised by Buddhism had appeared in the royal family!

In order to avoid causing unnecessary trouble, the old King Tang forbade the four-year-old Li Yingtai to go to any temple.

Even watching from afar is not allowed.

"No, something's wrong. Could it be related to that incident? But the timing doesn't seem right!"

When Tang Qianyan heard this, his expression immediately became serious.

"Sister-in-law, go to Xingshan Temple again today and worship the Buddha in front of those broken Buddha statues!"

"Do you know what's going on?"

Jin Chan asked with a frown.

"It's not clear yet. I need my sister-in-law to go over and verify it."

Seeing Yan in front of the hall with a rare serious expression, Jin Chan knew that this matter might be related to Buddhism.

After getting Jin Chan's nod, Li Yingtai ordered the Jinwu Guards to go ahead.

Xingshan Temple is the largest temple in Chang'an and has always been very popular.

But today, because Li Yingtai and Jin Chan and their group were going there, the temple was closed in advance, and even the monks in the temple were reduced to only the abbot.

"Your Majesty, this is the first time you have visited the temple since you were four years old."

The old abbot of Xingshan Temple was named Jiezhi and he had been a monk in Chang'an for more than 50 years.

When Li Yingtai came here with Wu Li to worship Buddha, he was already the abbot here.

"Abbot Jiezhi, long time no see."

Among the people present, only Li Yingtai and Wu Li put their palms together in front of him.

"Donors, please follow me."

Under the guidance of Jiezhi, several people walked inside.

Although winter has arrived, the lush green pines and cypresses are still reflected in the courtyard.

I don’t know if it was a psychological effect, but as soon as Li Yingtai entered the Hall of Heavenly Kings, he felt that the four heavenly kings on both sides had shifted their eyes elsewhere, and no matter where he stood, he could not meet their eyes.

Even Maitreya in the center seemed to have his eyes slightly closed.

They arrived at the Main Hall. Although the abbot had already prepared a cushion and three incense sticks for praying for the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yingtai was still a little hesitant.

"Old monk, who is sitting in the main hall?"

Tang Qianyan walked around the tripod and incense burner in front of the hall and went directly into the main hall. He raised his head and looked around, but there was no respect in his eyes, and he even showed a little disdain.

"Donor, in this main hall, the Five Tathagatas are naturally enshrined in the center, but in addition to the Five Tathagatas, there are also the Twenty-Four Devas on both sides, and the Sea Island Guanyin, Shancai Tongzi and Dragon Girl are enshrined in the back."

Jiezhi is worthy of being an old monk who has worshipped Buddha for many years. Although he is dissatisfied with Tang Qianyan's behavior, he does not point it out.

"Bah! There is no such thing as the Five Wisdom Tathagatas in Buddhism. There are only the Three Buddhas of the past, present and future."

The various things about Buddhism have been told countless times by the golden cicada in front of the hall.

More than eight thousand years ago, Jin Chan was still leading the white dragon colt and wandering around the mortal world all day long for fun.

The swallow in front of the hall was not born yet, and "Huang" did not bare his fangs towards the Jiufang Heavenly Palace.

Buddhism is led by the Buddha of the past, and the Buddha of the present is in samadhi. Although the future Buddha is still in the gestation stage in Buddhism, he has already comprehended the seven stages of Buddhist teachings.

According to Jin Chan, there are only three Buddhas in Buddhism: the past, the future and the present.

Moreover, this was decided when there was no Buddha in Buddhism.

"Donor, you can be rude to me, but you cannot be disrespectful to the Five Wisdom Tathagata."

Jiezhi was a little dissatisfied, but he couldn't say anything in front of Li Yingtai, so he could only remind him.

"Humph, a fellow who has never even seen a Buddha is kneeling down and worshipping a statue that he imagined out of thin air for generations. This is simply stupid!"

"Old bald donkey, let me ask you, have you ever seen this Buddha? Have the abbots of Xingshan Temple ever seen this Buddha?"

Tang Qianyan looked at the five hypocritical Buddha faces and the twenty gods in front of him and instantly remembered what happened to Jin Chan. He wished he could just pick up a sledgehammer and smash the place to pieces.

"Your Majesty, has my Xingshan Temple offended you? If so, I will move the Xingshan Temple out of Chang'an. I only ask this donor not to insult the Buddha again. Amitabha, good, good."

Seeing that he could not defeat Tangqianyan, the old abbot thought that Yan had come to the temple to cause trouble with the tacit approval of the King of Tang.

"Abbot Jiezhi, this person is my good friend, and it is not my instruction. You have misunderstood."

Hearing Li Yingtai's answer, Jiezhi felt relieved, but when he was about to speak again, Li Yingtai's words made him feel cold all over.

"However, what my good friend said is not wrong. May I ask if the abbot has ever seen the Buddha?"

"Your Highness, Buddha has no form. I have never seen him, but that does not mean he has never been here. Amitabha, well done, well done."

"Humph, you haven't seen it, but I have. I saw it in the Southern Wilderness. This Buddha is not as kind as your statue."

I wish you all a happy National Day holiday.

It was sent in advance today and will be sent as normal tomorrow.

The preparations made in the past few days are related to the future direction of the Tang State.

I also need to explain the foreshadowing that was laid long ago.

(Nanhuang, why did Pudu want to capture Li Yingtai, why did Li Yingtai worship Buddha, and why did the statue break.)
