Chapter 365 The Yellow Heaven Great Law, Calculating the Surprising Goose Palace
Old Zhou sighed, cold sweat beading on his forehead, and answered tremblingly, "Yes, of course."
As he spoke, he reached into his robes, while the other two also wore bitter expressions.
"call out!"
A bright, cold light flashed, and what Zhou Laotan pulled out was not a secret manual, but a hidden weapon. The dart flew like a meteor, heading towards Xu Ziling's face and various acupoints on his chest.
Not only him, but Ding Jiuzhong and You Niaojuan also made their move. A steel fork slid down from their backs and landed in their hands, thrusting straight at Xu Ziling at a tricky angle, as fast as lightning.
Yu Niaojuan, however, grabbed Jin Huanzhen in one hand and unleashed a powerful palm strike. He then turned and ran down the mountain without looking back. Xu Ziling's pressure on him was too great, causing him to flee without a fight!
Xu Ziling was prepared for the three attacks. His mind was in harmony with nature, and his spiritual sense was enhanced several times over. Although the opponents' killing intent was well hidden, he could still clearly perceive it.
The moment his opponent made their move, he pointed with one hand, and the leaves falling from the forest seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, condensing into a long sword that slammed towards the three of them. He himself, however, flashed away, leaving only an afterimage.
"Oh!"
Although the longsword is formed from leaves, each leaf is infused with a pure sword energy. If it were to fall on someone, the fragile leaves would be enough to pierce through their body and kill them.
"jingle."
The whistling projectile was knocked to the ground by the longsword and headed straight for Ding Jiuzhong.
The moment the steel fork in his hand collided directly with the longsword, Ding Jiuzhong's body trembled. He felt as if countless sharp swords were attacking him. The immense force slammed into the steel fork, shaking his internal organs. He was struck as if by lightning, and then he spat out a mist of blood and was forced back.
Yu Niaojuan's palm strike arrived late, but it only shattered a small portion of the longsword. The remaining sword energy remained condensed and did not dissipate. By the time Ding Jiuzhong reacted, the broken sword had pierced through his chest, spurting out a spurt of blood before disappearing into the soil without a trace.
At this moment, he was filled with fear and anger. Xu Ziling's strength was even more terrifying than he had imagined. With just one move, he had neutralized the attacks of the three of them and rendered him powerless.
I am in excruciating pain all over my body. The slightest movement causes me pain everywhere, as if I am being stabbed with steel needles.
He stared in the direction You Niaojuan had left, gritting his teeth and cursing, "Bastard!"
Run, run!
Yu Niaojuan, carrying the golden ring, hurried through the grove, his face full of anxiety. He was no longer as arrogant as before. He thought to himself, "We've been observing for so long, and that kid didn't even have a sword. Why is he still so powerful?"
"Where are you going?"
Suddenly, a calm voice rang in his ears. Immediately, he felt a pain in his lower abdomen, and the true energy in his body became chaotic. He stumbled and fell to the ground, rolling a long distance away. Even Jin Huanzhen was thrown away.
Yu Niaojuan looked at his lower abdomen and saw a figure walking towards him in the distance. Before he could utter a word, he fainted. "You!"
Xu Ziling walked over, his eyes sweeping over the bleeding abdomen. He raised his hand and shot out a finger strike to seal the vital point, which also helped stop the bleeding. He had just used a sword move to shatter the opponent's dantian.
Now that You Niaojuan was a cripple, he didn't even glance at Jin Huanzhen before shooting out a burst of energy to seal her acupoints, and his figure disappeared again.
Old Zhou sighed, his thick lips moving as he ran and cursed, "Damn it, how could this happen? I should have known better than to listen to You Niaojuan's instigation."
Although he was fat, his agility was remarkable. He fled through the forest, leaving trails of shadows behind. They dared not look back, for the man was far more powerful than they had imagined. They thought they had figured out his true strength after observing him for the past few days, but who knew that the little Taoist priest would be so terrifying when he made a move.
However, it was too late for regrets now. He could only hope that his fellow disciples could buy him some more time so that he could escape.
Suddenly, a sense of alarm arose in his mind. He swayed and rolled on the ground. When he stood up, he saw a leaf deeply embedded in the tree trunk he had just run past.
Old Zhou knew the enemy had caught up. He looked around warily and shouted coldly, "Come out! If you've got the guts, fight me head-on!" As he spoke, he put his hands back into his sleeves.
"You do not deserve!"
The moment the words fell, a sword aura materialized in the air, piercing through the air and shooting straight at Zhou Laotan. Halfway there, it transformed into thousands of sword energies, enveloping the opponent.
"Pfft!"
With just one move, Old Zhou was covered in blood and had no chance to resist.
His eyes were wide open, and he only managed to utter one sentence before collapsing with a thud.
"As expected of Master Yu's disciple."
Xu Ziling emerged from the woods, shook his head at the other party, and said, "I noticed the four of you acting suspiciously a long time ago, but I ignored you. I didn't expect you to target me. If you had found a place to hide, I might not have been able to find you."
After saying that, he picked the other person up with one hand and took him away.
No one could have imagined that the four members of the Evil Extreme Sect would walk right into Xu Ziling's trap and be completely wiped out.
Several days later, he successfully extracted the complete Dao Seed Heart Demon Technique from the four people, which gave him new insights.
……
In the autumn of the third year of the Kaiyuan era, in Luoyang.
Su Ming remained lying under the tree, his mind sinking into his sea of consciousness. A series of halos appeared on the Kunlun Remnant Mirror, mysterious and profound.
Mirror owner: Su Ming
World: The Legend of the Twin Dragons of the Tang Dynasty
Identity: Grand Preceptor of Wu, Master of Xu Ziling, Jade Daoist, Number One Person Under Heaven
Origin of the World: 978,735
World collapse level: 97.8%.
Number of times spacetime reflections were captured: zero
Number of times: zero
"It seems that my days of leaving this world are not far off."
Since Song Que unified the world, the world's collapse rate has jumped to 90%. As the country expands its borders and conquers countries such as Tuyuhun, the collapse rate is slowly increasing.
Not long ago, Song Que declared war on DTZ under the pretext that DTZ had stolen the Imperial Seal, a divine artifact of the Central Plains. This sparked a wave of enthusiasm for military merit among the court and the public, with young men from Guanzhong, Hebei and other places coming to join the army.
Everyone knows that the military prowess of this dynasty is at its peak. Even before the dynasty was established, it had already defeated the 20,000 elite cavalry of the Turkic Khan. The Battle of Luoshui, where a smaller force defeated a larger one, laid the foundation for unifying the world. After several rounds of court discussions, the emperor appointed Li Jing as the Generalissimo of the Northern Expedition, and in addition, Xu Shiji, Kou Zhong, and others were appointed as deputy generals to lead the army on the northern expedition. The court's goal in this war was to destroy the foreign regime on the grasslands and completely eliminate the border troubles.
Originally, the imperial court did not need to mobilize such a powerful force, but recently, DTZ's Uran Khan presented the Imperial Seal to the various tribes of the grasslands, and now the imperial court had no choice but to take serious action.
Last month, the imperial court sent 50,000 elite troops north, and they should arrive at the grasslands soon. With Li Jing, the military genius, in charge, the DTZ is bound to be destroyed. It's just unknown how badly the various tribes on the grasslands will be attacked.
With such a stellar lineup, this generation of grassland people is truly blessed.
One day, while he was reading and meditating in the courtyard, a young Taoist boy came to report, "Grand Preceptor, someone outside is requesting an audience, saying that they have some divine skills to offer."
Su Ming remained unmoved and casually asked, "Oh? What kind of martial arts?"
"The Great Yellow Heaven Law!"
After saying this, Su Ming opened his eyes, his expression slightly moved. Speaking of the Yellow Heaven Great Law, one cannot help but mention Sun En of the Celestial Masters Sect. This person was from the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Back then, the Celestial Masters Sect caused chaos, exhausting the last vitality of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and indirectly contributing to the rise of Liu Yu.
The Yellow Heaven Great Law was created by Sun En, the master of the Celestial Masters Sect. It is a compilation of the Taoist teachings of Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism, and a culmination of Taoist practices from the Han Dynasty. It originated from Huang Lao and was taught to both heaven and man. It is extremely profound and cannot be compared with ordinary martial arts. In Su Ming's eyes, it is far superior to the Cihang Sword Manual.
At the very least, Sun En, who practiced the Yellow Heaven Great Art, broke through the void, while none of those who practiced the Compassionate Voyage Sword Manual, including Qin Mengyao later on.
During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which was confined to a corner of the country, the northern regions were still ruled by non-Han people. At that time, there was a high-ranking Buddhist monk named Zhu Faqing who practiced the Ten Stages of Mahayana Buddhism, which originated from the orthodox Buddhist tradition. He also practiced the art of sexual cultivation, making his cultivation extremely profound.
The struggle over the orthodox lineage has never ceased.
Since Buddhism was introduced to the Central Plains during the Han Dynasty, the conflict between Taoism and Buddhism has never subsided. Sun En and Zhu Faqing were the most outstanding figures in Taoism and Buddhism, respectively, and their decisive battle was destined by fate.
Sun En practiced the Yellow Heaven Great Law and fought with Yan Fei, breaking through the void and leaving. The Yellow Heaven Great Law was lost in the Celestial Masters Sect. After Sun En left, the Celestial Masters Sect declined. Unexpectedly, someone has presented it to us today.
"Bring him in."
The young Taoist walked towards the gate, and after a short while, he came in carrying a wooden box.
Su Ming opened the wooden box and found a thin book and a note inside. It read: "Those who betray the Dao should be punished by the Daoist sect. This treasure has been covered in dust. This is to express our gratitude."
Upon seeing this, he smiled and said, "So it was to thank me for killing Ning Daoqi back then. It seems that this person knew that I was collecting martial arts secrets from all over the world and wanted to help me achieve my goal, so he offered me the Yellow Heaven Great Law. Well then, if you don't want to see me, then I won't."
He then picked up the booklet and began to read. It read, “The first level is refining the heart, refining the impure heart, eliminating emotions and delusions, and illuminating the mind in emptiness. The second level is refining the heart into meditation, refining the heart and harmonizing the qi, creating a misty atmosphere, and laying the foundation for divine skill. The third level is refining the heart, named the heart of heaven and earth, when the yang returns, refining the heart and advancing the qi, and the mysterious gate is formed.”
The first three levels are explained in a very simple way. They are all things that must be done in cultivation, and they are no different from ordinary methods of Qi cultivation.
From the fourth and fifth levels onwards, one can begin to establish the foundation of the heart and accumulate Qi to form the elixir. As for the sixth level, the Jade Elixir is restored, transforming from the acquired to the innate, with blood naturally turning into white paste and intention naturally condensing into red earth.
Upon reaching the seventh level, one refines the already enlightened nature, using the tangible to nourish the intangible, the substantial to fill the void, and the innate to control the acquired, uniting nature and life into one, thus completing the Great Elixir of Rejuvenation technique. Through seven returns and nine transformations, one preserves the divine nature, and the Dao heart remains unshaken forever.
Upon reaching the eighth level, one transforms all innate true energy into spirit. The spirit within the body can roam freely in the outside world. When it is spiritual, it moves; when it moves, it changes; when it changes, it transforms. One enters a state of deep meditation, no longer confused by material things, and refines the mind to become a spirit.
This is what Taoism refers to as refining Qi into spirit.
The next step is the legendary Refining the Spirit and Returning to Emptiness.
The ninth level, Refining the Mind, involves refining the Great Art of Returning to Emptiness.
Back then, Sun En reached the eighth level of his cultivation technique, having long since attained the state of complete freedom. However, since his spirit was not empty, it could not encompass all things. Therefore, he had to cultivate until all existence was empty, until he was completely pure and without attachment, hovering between heaven and earth, transcending the boundaries of self and non-self, emptiness and non-emptiness. Heaven and earth may be destroyed, but emptiness will not be destroyed. Heaven and earth may be obstructed, but emptiness is unobstructed. Thus, his spirit filled the void, and his law pervaded the entire universe. This is the supreme of the Yellow Heaven Great Law, unsurpassed.
The phrase "refining the mind" encapsulates the essence of Taoist martial arts. Taoist internal cultivation emphasizes balance and tranquility, and excels at accumulating strength before unleashing it. However, in reality, young children are restless, active, and easily distracted, making it difficult for them to concentrate on cultivation.
As one gets older and one's mind becomes more settled, one can grasp the essence of Qi cultivation. When one's mind and practice are in harmony, one makes remarkable progress.
Having obtained the Yellow Heaven Great Art, Su Ming quickly began to study it. Several days later, he awoke from his meditation and looked at the martial arts manual on his lap. "So this is the mystery of the Yellow Heaven Great Art. Some of the ingenious ideas in it are worth learning from."
Immediately, he picked up the book, rubbed it between his hands, and the thin book turned into dust that fell from his fingertips. The Yellow Heaven Great Art was different from ordinary martial arts, requiring extremely high talent and temperament. Giving it to an ordinary person would only harm him. Besides, he couldn't pass it on as a gift of gratitude from someone else.
"If it were given to Ziling, he would definitely be able to master it. But in my hands, it can only serve as a reference. However, in some aspects, the Dao Seed Heart Demon Technique is still superior. The War God Manual... I really wonder what it looks like."
……
The plains of Liuma were completely surrounded by the Wu army.
Several years ago, Song Que traveled here and found the scenery to be beautiful, so he built a temporary palace here and named it Jingyan Palace.
In fact, over the past few years, Su Ming and Shi Zhixuan have been searching for the secrets of the War God's Record. They found clues in the fragments of their predecessors' words and speculated that the War God's Temple was located here. This is why Song Que built a palace here.
In fact, the palaces on the ground were meant to conceal the underground Temple of the God of War. Jingyan Palace covers a vast area, with halls, pavilions, and terraces, creating a solemn and imposing atmosphere. It was built along the mountain slope, backed by Jingyan Peak, the main peak of Qianligang, which also explains the origin of the name of the palace.
Jingyan Peak rises high into the clouds, standing out above the surrounding mountains, giving Jingyan Palace a commanding view of the entire Liuma Plain. Liuma Post Station is located seven li to the upper left. Except for the main hall and side halls, which are built with a material that resembles marble, the rest of the palace is constructed of wood.
The main hall is located at the heart of the palace, with two side halls on the left and right, each connected by a corridor about twenty feet long, like the wings of a goose flying out from both sides. The moat in front of the palace is deep and wide, drawing in the streams from Qianligang, forming a natural barrier.
The only way to reach Jingyan Palace, besides climbing down from Qianligang, is a large stone bridge that leads directly to the main gate. It is wide enough for four horses to ride abreast. It is a masterpiece of nature and has a magnificent presence, giving people the feeling that one man can hold off ten thousand men.
Inside the main hall, Shi Zhixuan said confidently, "Jingyan Palace opens once every thirty years. Based on my prediction of celestial changes, the next opening will be in three years."
Su Mingli stood in front of the main hall and glanced at Shi Zhixuan. “Brother Shi, after stepping down as prime minister, you have been cultivating in seclusion here. In just two years, your martial arts have improved even further. Congratulations!”
Shi Zhixuan smiled and suddenly said, "I don't intend to keep this secret to myself. What do you think, fellow Daoist?"
Su Ming seemed indifferent. "It's fine, do as you please."
