Chapter 2: A blessing in disguise
Fang Hao in front of them suddenly turned into a phantom, causing Hu San and the giant dog to be unable to control their strength. Due to inertia, they rushed into the cliff behind Fang Hao.

"Ouch!"

The giant dog let out a scream. Its momentum was too fast, and its four legs were in the air, and it fell directly off the cliff.

In comparison, Hu San's reaction was much faster. He staggered, stopped his momentum, and was about to turn back.

But he felt a force coming from his lower back, not strong but just right. It happened to be when Hu San was trying hard to maintain his balance.

The next moment, Hu San's body lost balance again, and he fell uncontrollably from the cliff.

"I was careless!" This was Hu San's last thought before he died.

After Hu San and the vicious dog fell off the cliff, Fang Hao's tense nerves relaxed, his legs went limp, and he fell to the ground, completely fainting.

In the early morning, when the sun was about to rise, Fang Hao woke up in the cold wind. When he woke up, he felt dizzy and his whole body ached.

"Looks like I caught a cold." Fang Hao sniffed his nose and his heart sank.

In ancient times, colds and flu could be fatal if not treated promptly!
"I must get to Jingming Temple as soon as possible, otherwise I will be in danger!"

Fang Hao rubbed his sore and swollen temples and said, "Oh, right! The sun is about to come out. God bless me and give me a 'refreshed' feeling!"

Fang Hao spread out his hands, and a twenty-sided dice that only he could see appeared in his palm.

This is the "Universal Divine Dice", the culprit that caused Fang Hao to travel through the world of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes".

During the seven or eight days of his escape, Fang Hao basically understood its basic functions.

Every morning, when the sun rises, the Universal Die will automatically refresh twenty different super powers.

By rolling the dice, Fang Hao can randomly select any one of the superpowers and have the right to use it for one day.

During the seven or eight days of traveling through time, Fang Hao had developed a number of superpowers including "instant movement", "refreshed", "charming", "phase shift", and "brisk walking".

Among them, super powers such as "phase shift" and "speed of flight" require the active consumption of extraordinary energy in the user's body to be released.

Fang Hao is just a child of five or six years old now. He doesn't have any extraordinary energy. He can only try his best to display his power by overdrawing his spiritual strength and even vitality.

Even so, Fang Hao only maintained the "phase shift" for one second before his mental strength was instantly drained.

He was seeing stars, felt dizzy and fainted.

But if it is a superpower like "refreshed" or "charming", it is a passive ability and does not require Fang Hao to consume energy to activate it.

Fang Hao traveled through the "World of The Legend of the Condor Heroes" for eight days and was hunted for eight days. The most common superpower he gained was "refreshed".

In his opinion, this is a buff that forcibly dispels the negative state of the body.

You have to know that in ancient times, traveling was not an easy thing. Whether riding a car or a bicycle, the bumpy ride for days could shake a person's bones apart.

Fortunately, with the benefit of the "refreshed" state, Fang Hao would feel completely free of fatigue every time he woke up every day, which allowed him to barely hold on until today.

If he could obtain the ability of "feeling refreshed" today, even if it could not cure his cold, it would at least help him get rid of his fatigue, which would be of great benefit to his journey.

As he threw the dice lightly, the 20-sided dice spun rapidly on the ground, and the side that finally stopped displayed the superpower - "turn disaster into blessing"!
"What does it mean when disaster strikes?" Fang Hao frowned. The literal meaning of "when disaster strikes, disaster strikes" is very simple, that is, even when disaster strikes, disasters can be turned into good luck.

But Fang Hao had no idea whether this ability was triggered passively or needed to be actively used.

"Would you like to try jumping off a cliff? It seems that the protagonists in martial arts novels always turn disaster into blessing after jumping off a cliff, or find a secret manual of magical skills, or meet a master who teaches them skills, and from then on they reach the pinnacle of life!"

Duan Yu and Zhang Wuji are both Fang Hao's idols. Thinking of the great achievements of these two predecessors, Fang Hao can't help but yearn for them.

"Forget it! What if I really jump to death? It would not be worth it." Fang Hao only has one life, so he doesn't dare to take the risk.

After eating the only remaining steamed bread he had, Fang Hao tied the yellow cloth package tightly to his chest, picked up the dead branches on the ground, used them as a walking stick, and began to climb over the mountain in front of him.

"Hold on a little longer! We're almost there!" Dragging his heavy body, Fang Hao staggered and tried hard to hold on.

But the flushed face revealed Fang Hao’s current condition: he had a fever!

In ancient times when there was a shortage of medical care and medicine, and in such desolate mountains and wilderness, a fever sometimes meant... death.

"I must not... fall down!" Fang Hao said to himself. His instinct for survival drove him to keep moving forward.

"As long as we pass through the woods in front of us, we will be not far from Jingming Temple!" Fang Hao muttered to himself, but his eyelids became heavier and heavier, and finally he fell heavily to the ground.

……

"Dingle bell! Dingle bell!"

After an unknown amount of time, a bell sounded, and then a tall, thin, and graceful middle-aged man was seen passing by the woods, driving an exquisite carriage with ebony frames and brocade curtains.

The middle-aged man was dressed in a straight blue robe, like a scholar, with a dignified and elegant posture, looking as serene as a god.

As soon as he entered the woods, the scholar in green saw Fang Hao lying on the ground, but he only paused for a moment and continued on his way, not caring at all about Fang Hao's life or death.

Inside the carriage, a beautiful woman with a dignified manner and graceful demeanor lifted the curtain and asked, "Husband, why did you stop just now?"

"It's nothing, I just saw a dead body." The scholar in green said indifferently.

The beautiful woman looked around and saw Fang Hao lying on the ground. She said in a raised tone: "Oh! It's a child, husband. I see his chest is rising and falling, it seems he is still alive!"

The scholar in blue said, "This kid has a flushed face and is breathing rapidly. He must have caught a cold, or maybe even an epidemic disease. He's not dead yet, but I'm afraid he won't live much longer."

"Husband, saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. This child is only five or six years old. Let's save him!" the beautiful woman pleaded.

The scholar in blue clothes said helplessly: "Since Ah Heng wants to save him, then save him!"

After saying that, he gently swung the whip in his hand, and the energy came out and stuck to Fang Hao like a spirit snake.

The scholar in blue pulled Fang Hao onto the carriage with a gentle tug. He then took out a jade bottle made of white jade from his body, poured out a vermilion pill with a fragrant aroma, and fed it to Fang Hao with water.

"You got a great bargain by taking one of my Nine Flowers Jade Dew Pills!" said the scholar in green somewhat unhappily.
