I'm the Demon King in Marvel

Chapter 56: Manipulated Meeting

Chapter 56: Manipulated Meeting
Saturday is coming soon.

In the evening, Strange and Christine put on their graduation gowns and took a taxi to Per Se restaurant in the southwest corner of Central Park.

After checking the lottery tickets, the waiter at the door ushered them into the restaurant with a friendly smile, and congratulated them, "You two are so lucky. We only gave out one lottery ticket for the dinner."

In any upscale restaurant, dinner seats are always more scarce than lunch seats, because the hard-working workers can only have a good meal after get off work.

The waiter took the two to their seats, set the tableware for them, and asked enthusiastically, "Which winery would you like, Lajos or Gusbode?"

"Is there a Clot Winery?" Strange obviously knew about it in advance.

"Yes, please wait a moment. It will take some time for you to sober up." The waiter bowed slightly and politely left.

Strange and Christine are future surgeons and are doing internships at Langone Hospital. They have a promising financial future and although their life is temporarily tight, they are not afraid to enter this restaurant which is open to the public.

Not long after they sat down, a 06 extended Rolls-Royce Phantom stopped at the door of the restaurant. The waiter trotted over to open the door, and Pepper Potts and Tony Stark got out of the car hand in hand.

"Is this restaurant delicious?" Tony Stark took a look and commented sarcastically, "The decoration is very new, so it should have been open for a short time."

"It has been open for four years and has won three Michelin stars for three consecutive years. The reviews online are very good." Pepper Potts is not yet accustomed to the life of a rich wife. Like other young people, she likes to read reviews online. She doesn't know that the truly expensive and good restaurants are not actually open to the public.

Tony smiled. He was not picky about food and most of the time a cheeseburger was enough for him.

Since my girlfriend chose the restaurant, I have to say it’s delicious even if it’s not.

It's my fault that I couldn't help but confess.

Upon seeing that it was the famous Tony Stark who had come, the front desk manager immediately came out to greet them personally and led them to a separate private room. The chef, who seldom came out to see guests, came over personally to ask about their tastes and preferences, and the service was quite thoughtful.

The food tasted pretty good, and Tony ate a little more.

"I'm going to the bathroom." He left with a small metal bucket.

Tony came to the bathroom and found an empty cubicle and went in. His face turned pale instantly.

He lay on the toilet lid and hurriedly took out a new piece of palladium metal to replace the one that had begun to corrode in the reactor in his chest. At the same time, he unscrewed the metal barrel and was about to drink the chlorophyll.

But the door of the compartment opened inexplicably.

Stephen, who happened to be relieving himself, saw Tony kneeling in front of the toilet. Out of his doctor's ethics, he immediately stepped forward to support Tony and asked, "Sir, are you okay?"

Inside the open shirt, the Ark reactor emitted a blue light, at his feet was a corroded block of palladium metal, and in his hand was chlorophyll.

Stephen Strange's nose twitched and he smelled the scent of chlorophyll.

So he hurriedly asked: "Sir, are you poisoned?"

Chlorophyll is a natural detoxifier that can neutralize various wastes in the blood and excrete them out of the body through excretion, thereby purifying the blood.

Strange looked at the corroded palladium block on the ground and frowned: "This is heavy metal..."

"Sir, heavy metal poisoning requires immediate hospital treatment. Drinking chlorophyll alone is useless."

Tony was helped up by him, and he tilted his head back to drink the unpalatable chlorophyll. After his complexion recovered a little, he resumed his cynical attitude.

"Wow, this restaurant actually has a doctor in the bathroom. Are they worried about the guests' constipation?"

The rigid Strange had probably never encountered such obscene words before and was stunned.

Tony was quite lonely and shook his head: "Okay, are you really a doctor?"

Strange, who was still an intern, nodded calmly, "Yes, I work at NYU Langone Hospital."

“Nice hospital.”

Tony walked to the sink, washed and dried his hands, and when he was done, he turned around to tell Strange what he was doing, but he found that he didn't know his name. "This..."

"Stephen Strange."

Strange recognized the famous New York playboy and replied with a hint of suppressed excitement: "Mr. Stark, you can call me Doctor Strange."

"Okay, doctor." Tony pointed at him and said with a hint of warning: "I hope you will abide by professional ethics and keep patient confidentiality."

Strange stared at Tony's chest again and nodded in response, but his mind began to become active.

This...maybe this is his chance.

Sitting alone in the corner of the restaurant, Carl Mordo smiled and enjoyed his dinner peacefully.

After getting Tony Stark's schedule, it only takes a simple magic to make Christine Palmer win the prize. Then, a slight hypnosis of Tony and Stephen's consciousness can control the time when the two meet in the bathroom.

Carl Mordo believed that he had completed the task assigned by Teacher Gu Yi perfectly.

Ancient One, who was far away in Kamar-Taj, also thought that he did a good job. He then quietly blocked the gazes of many high-dimensional beings and pushed Erwuzai forward to replace Jie.

You go to meet death, I go to serve eternity, and we all have a bright future.

After dinner, Strange rushed to his computer as soon as he got home and started searching for news about Tony Stark.

Blocking out most of the useless information in the gossip magazines, he found the report about Tony Stark's disappearance in Afghanistan nearly four months ago, and then the report about his return to New York a month ago.

After finding a few key pictures, Strange suddenly realized: "So that's how it is!"

"Honey, what's wrong?"

Having just finished a sumptuous meal, Christine wanted to take a few more bites of sausage to exercise and help digest the food.

She lay on her boyfriend's shoulders with her hands reaching down.

"Do you know who I just met in the restaurant?"

Strange's mind is now filled with Tony Stark, and there is no room for a girlfriend, even if the view before him is white.

"Who is it?" Christine was unwilling to give up and stretched out her foot.

"Tony Stark!" Strange said excitedly.

"Huh?" Christine quickly retracted her hands and feet, looking surprised: "Don't tell me you're starting to be interested in men."

"What are you thinking?" Strange said unhappily, "I discovered a secret of Tony Stark. This may be an opportunity to get a permanent job early."

"Are you crazy?" Christine's eyes widened in shock. "You want to threaten an arms dealer?"

Strange really couldn't understand the woman's thought process, so he immediately pointed at the picture of Tony Stark on the computer screen and tapped his chest hard.

"He has a man-made machine here. I guess Tony Stark was seriously injured when he was kidnapped last time, and the machine in his chest is maintaining his life."

Stephen Strange was not a fool, on the contrary he was very smart. Combining the scene he had just seen with his own eyes and the clues he got from the news reports, he quickly deduced the truth.

"This is my chance. As long as I can cure him, the director will have to approve my early promotion!"

At this moment, Stephen Strange was very utilitarian. He was unwilling to endure another five or six years of hard work to only get a one in eight chance of becoming a residency.

On his first day as an intern, the director made it clear to him and seven other interns that only one of them would stay at Langone Hospital as a resident after seven years.
