Chapter 631 An unconventional method of severing the three corpses! Merely an incarnation of a terrifyingly powerful being!
Luo Fu didn't resort to any fancy tricks.
Fahai preemptively attacked.
Sword light flashed around Luo Fu in an instant.
From within the sword case, it seemed as if an endless stream of flying swords were constantly pouring out, swirling around Luo Fu like a tide.
Then came the White Cloud Zen Master who came with Luofu.
After seeing Fahai's actions, they were equally unwilling to be outdone.
While chanting Buddhist mantras, he fiddled with the prayer beads with one hand, and with the other hand, he held the golden Buddha statue high.
The golden Buddha, which had not been shattered by Shi Fang's recklessness, burst forth with boundless golden light the moment it was raised by Zen Master Baiyun.
Amidst the dazzling golden light, a majestic Buddha statue stands tall and imposing.
Even Fahai was taken aback by the methods of Zen Master Baiyun.
Indeed, the golden Buddha that Zen Master Baiyun was raising at this moment, which had transformed into a majestic Buddha, was truly awe-inspiring.
It is exactly the same as the Buddha enshrined in the main hall of a temple.
Luo Fu, who also noticed this, frowned deeply.
If Luo Fu's previous doubts about the identity of Zen Master Baiyun were merely a nonsensical idea, based on his past life's impressions and wild imagination...
Now, witnessing firsthand how Zen Master Baiyun unleashed the golden Buddha and displayed abilities and supernatural powers comparable to those of the thousand-year-old centipede demon, Pudu Cihang, they were truly amazed.
Luo Fu then began to seriously doubt the origins of Zen Master Baiyun.
Pudu Cihang had the audacity to impersonate the Buddha, and his impersonation was so lifelike that it was indistinguishable from the real thing. This made the Kunlun disciples, Zhi Qiu Yiye, unable to muster even the slightest thought of resistance.
Now, apart from not claiming to be the reincarnation of the Buddha, Master Baiyun's methods are almost identical to those of Luofu's imagined salvation of all beings.
After the initial shock, Fahai's confidence instantly surged. It was indeed the golden Buddha created by Zen Master Baiyun, and the fluctuations of Buddhist power had clearly reached the level of the Buddha.
Exquisite and pure, magnificent and upright.
It was as if the Buddha had descended.
Master Baiyun's cultivation was stronger than Fahai's.
After all, Zen Master Baiyun had truly cultivated to the limit, comparable to the Hinayana Buddhist teachings, reaching the level of an Arhat, and all the blood in his body had been transformed into gold.
At this moment, with the golden Buddha in a state of perfect harmony with humanity, it is no exaggeration to say that he is the Buddha himself descended.
With his confidence soaring, Fahai chose to attack Luofu first. The whisk in his hand suddenly swelled up and ignited into a raging karmic fire, like a long fiery dragon tearing towards Luofu.
Countless flying swords rose up in an instant, transforming into long dragons of sword energy to meet Fahai.
Behind Luofu, Zen Master Baiyun, in a state of oneness with the golden Buddha, is the Buddha, and the Buddha is him.
With a slight opening and closing of his eyes, he stretched out his hand with seemingly slow but actually swift movements. A Buddha's palm, as large as a mountain, pressed down on Luofu with an irresistible and overwhelming power.
Luofu is multitasking.
While manipulating countless flying swords to deal with Fahai, he suddenly clapped his hands together.
The earth churned instantly.
Countless vibrant tree trunks rose from the ground and, in a short time, formed a majestic statue with a human body, ox hooves, four eyes, six hands, and some wood grain.
Unlike before, the moment this image of Chi You, resembling a wooden puppet, was born...
A vibrant stream of light suddenly flowed from the wood carving, covering it completely in an instant.
As the light flashed by, the wood carving revealed the texture of flesh and blood.
Without dodging or avoiding, the form of Chi You, transformed from Luofu, boldly met the Buddha's giant palm.
The terrifying aftershocks from the initial collision sent shockwaves through the entire Qiantang River area, making it feel like an earthquake.
In the forest where the two sides were fighting, two giant snakes, one white and one green, fled in panic as if they were terrified.
These two snakes, Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing, were none other than the sisters that Luofu had searched all around Qiantang but had been unable to find.
However, the white and green snakes have not yet reached the point where they can fully transform into human form.
In fact, even after Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian got married, Xiaoqing was not able to completely transform into human form. She would occasionally show the softness of a snake, and even had a special fondness for flies and rats.
This was their cultivation level after they obtained the string of Buddhist beads from the spider demon through Fahai.
Now, the cultivation levels of the White and Green Snakes are even more deteriorated.
Luo Fu fought against two opponents simultaneously, dealing with Fahai and Zen Master Baiyun. Zen Master Baiyun, in particular, displayed a magnificent golden Buddha statue that was the nemesis of all evil spirits.
Even without any intention to target them, the Buddhist light they emitted alone caused the White and Green snakes unbearable pain, forcing them to flee for their lives.
At this moment, Luo Fu had no interest in paying attention to the fleeing white and green snakes.
Even Fahai was temporarily ignored by Luofu, who dealt with him using countless flying swords.
Indeed, the methods displayed by Zen Master Baiyun made Luofu increasingly convinced that there must be an inexplicable cause and effect between him and Pudu Cihang.
The majestic golden Buddha and the image of Chi You clashed several times in succession.
Both sides stepped back a few paces.
Manipulating the form of Chi You, Luo Fu's four eyes stared intently at the golden Buddha, and he asked, "Master Baiyun, what is your relationship with the current Imperial Preceptor Pudu Cihang in the capital?"
The golden Buddha paused, then uttered a Buddhist chant: "Amitabha, it seems you have had contact with that wicked creature."
As expected, Master Baiyun's reaction completely confirmed Luofu's relationship with Pudu Cihang.
"In a moment of weakness, this humble monk has committed immeasurable sins," the golden Buddha said, clasping his hands together. "After subduing you today, this humble monk will certainly go to the capital personally to slay demons and monsters for the sake of the world."
"Slaying demons and eliminating evil? Master Baiyun, you yourself are a demon, you yourself are a monster." Luo Fu vaguely guessed the relationship between Master Baiyun and Pudu Cihang.
If he is not mistaken, Zen Master Baiyun and Pudu Cihang are two sides of the same coin.
Master Baiyun represents the righteous and benevolent side, while Pudu Cihang represents the evil and malicious side.
The former focused on meditation and enlightenment, diligently cultivating Buddhist teachings, and attained a body of golden blood comparable to that of an Arhat in the world. The latter, however, sought quick results, attempting to devour the imperial dragon energy with the body of a thousand-year-old centipede, thus undergoing a complete transformation and becoming a dragon.
It seems that the two sides are irreconcilable and in a life-or-death confrontation, but Luo Fu understands that good and evil are two sides of the same coin.
It is quite possible that both Zen Master Baiyun and Cihang Pudu are merely two sides of the same coin, their true nature still hidden and their true nature unknown. This is clearly a unique method in this world, a method akin to severing the three corpses.
Based on the age of Zen Master Baiyun, he was born a hundred years ago after a great upheaval in the world.
Although Pudu Cihang had a thousand years of cultivation and was known as the Thousand-Year Centipede Spirit, it should be noted that the prefix "thousand years" does not actually refer to living for a thousand years, but rather to possessing a thousand years of cultivation.
Faced with Luo Fu's undisguised accusations.
The White Cloud Zen Master, who had transformed into a majestic golden Buddha, remained completely unmoved.
In fact, Luo Fu's guess about Zen Master Baiyun was correct.
Zen Master Baiyun and the Imperial Preceptor Pudu Cihang in the capital are indeed two sides of the same coin, representing good and evil.
To be precise, they shouldn't be two sides of the same coin, but rather two completely different, separate sides.
This is like saying from a lower conceptual perspective, hands and feet are completely different organs, but from the perspective of humanity as a whole, hands and feet are just a part of that whole.
Just as to a tiny insect, any human finger possesses an invincible, god-like power, but in the insect's perception, that invincible power is merely a small part of human tissue.
The relationship between Zen Master Baiyun and Pudu Cihang is actually the same.
From a higher cognitive perspective, Master Baiyun and Master Pudu Cihang can indeed be viewed as two sides of the same coin, but in reality, they are completely different.
This difference stems from the most fundamental distinction between different minds.
As one of the two sides of the same coin, Zen Master Baiyun himself also looked down on Pudu Cihang, and was even hostile to him.
This is why, even though Luo Fu exposed his identity, he didn't react at all.
Luo Fu said that Zen Master Baiyun was a demon or a monster, but that was actually a bit of an injustice to him.
When the essence of life transforms or evolves to a sufficient level, there is little difference between demons, monsters, good, and evil.
The birth of demons is due to discrimination. However, in higher dimensions of life, there is no such discrimination. There may be differences due to different levels of evolution of life essence, but there will be no difference because of discrimination.
In Buddhist scriptures, the definition and concept of Buddha is itself a great and imposing man, including the famous Guanyin Bodhisattva.
The manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva in female form is merely an incarnation, an image manifested to guide sentient beings; it is the manifestation body among the three bodies of Buddha.
The true essence is the Dharmakaya, the true life of the origin of life, which is inherently complete, without beginning or end, neither born nor dying, neither going nor coming, capable of generating all phenomena, and never being extinguished. It is the relic in the Heart Sutra, while in Taoism it is described as a concept such as a pre-natal infant.
The being that gave rise to Pudu Cihang and Baiyun Zen Master is very likely the terrifying being that caused the great upheaval in the world a hundred years ago, when the Dao declined and the demons rose.
Otherwise, it would be impossible for the differentiated and uniquely born Master Baiyun and Master Pudu Cihang to both become top-tier masters in this world.
These differentiated individuals are of no concern to that lofty being, whether they live or die, rise or fall. No matter how high they grow, they will eventually come to an end. Even if they perish halfway, it is still a kind of experience.
Simply relying on debates is completely meaningless for Zen Master Baiyun.
The only thing Luofu can do now is to completely send Master Baiyun to his final rest.
Of course, even if he didn't do that, Fahai and Zen Master Baiyun would still, under the impetus of destiny, sacrifice their own lives to deliver the fortune symbolizing the righteous path of heaven and earth into Luofu's hands.
This is independent of any individual's consciousness.
Fahai, puzzled but with a hint of expectation in his eyes, said, "Master Baiyun, this Moro is unrepentant. Let's join forces and capture this demon. In the future, this humble monk will accompany you to the capital."
As he spoke, Fahai continued to contend with the countless flying swords that blotted out the sky.
For Fahai, Luofu was the most terrifying demon he had ever encountered.
That was a true Mara, capable of shaking the very foundations of Buddhism, far beyond what ordinary demons and monsters could compare to.
If he hadn't suffered a loss at Luofu's hands, how could Fahai, with his arrogance, have cooperated with Zen Master Baiyun at this moment?
It should be noted that in Fahai's mind, Luofu was the culprit who destroyed the Jinshan Temple's heritage and killed all the monks of Jinshan Temple.
Even seeking revenge requires joining forces, which is enough to show how much pressure Luofu puts on Fahai.
Despite simultaneously dealing with two top Buddhist masters, Luo Fu still appeared to be handling the situation with ease.
The image of Chi You, with its four eyes and six arms, is so lifelike that it seems to be made of flesh and blood, that it stands in stark contrast to the towering golden Buddha, holding its own in the slightest.
The countless flying swords forced Fahai to jump around wildly; he could barely defend himself, let alone retaliate.
Just as Luofu, Zen Master Baiyun, and Fahai were locked in a stalemate.
Having barely escaped, the white and green snakes hid on a hilltop, watching the direction from which the battle had taken place.
"Sister, is this the terror of a great cultivator?" The green snake flicked its tongue, its expression ferocious, yet strangely, it gave off a feeling of lingering fear.
The white snake, its skin smooth and lustrous like jade, nodded slightly and said, "Xiao Qing, these great cultivators have truly reached a realm akin to gods and Buddhas."
"Gods and Buddhas?" Xiaoqing asked in surprise, "I saw Buddhas, but where are the gods?"
"The one fighting the Golden Buddha is a god," the White Snake said with unwavering conviction.
"Isn't that a demon?" Xiaoqing asked, bewildered and full of confusion.
In fact, while the battle between Luofu and Fahai seemed incredibly powerful, what truly attracted the attention of the surrounding cultivators and mortals was the majestic golden Buddha, an incarnation of Zen Master Baiyun, and the incarnation of Chiyou, an incarnation of Luofu.
The former goes without saying; the existence of the golden Buddha is as if the Buddha enshrined in the main hall of a temple has been transformed from a golden statue into a real and authentic Buddha.
At first, quite a few people were indeed fooled by the latter, mistakenly believing that the incarnation of Chi You was a demon.
After all, Chi You's image is indeed close to that of demons and monsters.
It has four eyes and six hands, two horns on its head, and ears like swords and halberds. Each of its six hands holds a different magical weapon.
No matter how ferocious and terrifying his appearance may be, Chi You was still the true ancestor of Chinese civilization, an ancient deity who shared the lineage with the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor.
Like Wang Taichang.
If the words of Zen Master Baiyun and Fahai did mislead him at the beginning, making him mistakenly believe that Luofu was some kind of terrifying demon, then when Luofu revealed itself as the incarnation of Chiyou, Wang Taichang felt no more psychological pressure.
Although the Central Plains people have long claimed to be descendants of the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor, none of them dared to regard Chi You as a demon or monster.
Since ancient times, Chi You has been one of the righteous gods, and a truly great one at that. No legitimate dynasty in the Central Plains officially listed Chi You as a demon.
Even during the Qin and Han dynasties, the image of Chi You was depicted on flags.
As a Confucian disciple, how could Wang Taichang not understand the significance of Chi You?
