Chapter 256 Huaguo Mountain

One mortal year in this world is equal to one day in other universes.

Du Mu was finally able to let go of his sense of responsibility and no longer had to worry about whether the worlds he once protected would encounter any unexpected events when he was away.

He settled down peacefully in Huaguo Mountain, experiencing the mountain life which he had never experienced in the past 30 years.

Having said that, for Du Mu himself, it was just a difference in scenery.

For Du Mu today, all the inconveniences and troubles that the mountains and wilderness bring to ordinary people are simply non-existent, and there is no inconvenience at all.

After all, anything that humans have been able to create from ancient times to the present, Du Mu can create out of thin air simply by relying on the atoms in the air. Now even the elements themselves can be created out of nothing, so naturally there is no concept of 'resource scarcity'.

Du Mu first sat on the top of the mountain for a few days to see if there were any flaws in the influence he had exerted on the four continents, or if it had caused any adverse consequences that he had not anticipated.

The result is no. After all, Du Mu's brain computing power has far surpassed that of Brainiac. At this stage, his thinking speed is 365 times that of an ordinary person, and the amount of computing power he occupies when he is in a daze and meditating without thinking about anything is not much different.

Although Du Mu himself is still constantly calculating and experiencing his current strength, a large amount of computing power is still idle. In this case, he is always observing every individual of the three realms. For every life, he is observing the other party's every move 24 hours a day.

It would be bizarre if something happened again that made Du Mu feel dissatisfied and unhappy.

However, after a few days, it was realized that the noise he made was still too loud.

It can be said that this is completely digging out the roots of the world's ruling class.

The Heavenly Court and Lingshan finally reacted and were discussing the situation, but they were all confused and couldn't explain what was going on.

Then, the only thing that surprised Du Mu and was unexpected happened.

It wasn't someone else who did this.

But it was none other than the Lord of Lingshan, Tathagata Buddha.

And what he did seemed so familiar.

The Tathagata Buddha of this universe counted with his fingers and nodded slightly, as if he had everything planned out, but he did not reveal a single word.

He raised his head and looked in the direction of Huaguo Mountain.

One of them was in Lingshan in Xiniu Hezhou, and the other was in Huaguoshan in Dongsheng Shenzhou. They were looking at each other from afar.

The Tathagata Buddha placed one palm in front of his chest and chanted: "Amitabha."

Afterwards, the figure disappeared, and left Lingshan Hall without saying a word.

This action caused the saints of Lingshan to be astonished and puzzled, but no matter how hard they searched, they could not find any trace of Tathagata Buddha.

The entire Lingshan Mountain lost its backbone in an instant, and all the Bodhisattvas looked at each other with solemn expressions. Then they returned to the mountain and stayed indoors.

But Du Mu stared at the spirit of Tathagata Buddha and saw it clearly.

This Tathagata Buddha...he actually...

Reincarnation.

The vast spiritual energy all poured into the baby who was about to be born in an ordinary family.

Du Mu was stunned.

So decisive?

He didn't say anything. How could the Buddha suddenly reincarnate without saying a word to him?

What is this operation?
However, it must be said that the behavior of the Buddha of this universe left Du Mu with no reason to take action.

Even though he occupied the body of a baby, that baby, theoretically, should have been a stillbirth.

The reincarnated Tathagata also erased his own memory and was crying loudly.

Of course, Tathagata is not without a backup plan. One day, when the baby grows up and is able to see through the worldly affairs, return to Buddhism, and let go of greed, anger, ignorance and desire, the memories left by Tathagata will return to him and be revived.

But why did Tathagata do this?

Du Mu was silent for a moment, then couldn't help shaking his head and chuckling.

His act of making the entire planet unable to harbor any intelligent life had actually already clearly revealed his character, purpose, and means.

Those who can't see it are fools.

Your actions alone speak louder than any words.

There is no language more profound than concrete actions.

The direct reincarnation of Tathagata is both a compromise and a form of communication and inquiry.

Du Mu's next action, whether to kill the innocent reincarnated baby or let it grow up, is an answer.

And Du Mu’s choice... naturally was to wave his sleeves and ignore the child.

He is not so petty as to settle accounts with people for their sins in previous lives even after they have been reincarnated.

However, the behavior of this Tathagata is a bit like a TV series he had heard of in his previous life, "The Sequel to Journey to the West".

It seems that the Tathagata in this TV series also reincarnated and fell in love after encountering an invincible powerful enemy.

Next, it is Sun Wukong, Tang Sanzang and others who, after going through untold hardships to defeat the villains, come back to pick peaches. The main theme is a relaxed and carefree attitude, as they defeat powerful enemies without any effort and return to their positions.

Du Mu smiled faintly.

He waved his hand lightly and wiped out the trick left by Tathagata.

Since you have already been reincarnated, why should you cling to the memories of your previous life?

If the baby after reincarnation can truly see through the worldly affairs and rebuild his attainments, he will naturally be a new arhat or a new bodhisattva.

But there is no need to be obsessed with the position of Tathagata.

I think, if Tathagata saw his own behavior, he would just smile calmly and accept the reality, right?
Since Ruru had reincarnated on his own, Lingshan also began to close the mountain to the public, and Du Mu no longer had any interest in causing trouble for Lingshan.

He raised his head and looked at the sky.

The gods above the nine heavens are still living freely and at ease.

Although each one was slowed down hundreds of times.

Lingshan is in Hezhou, Xiniu, and most of the Bodhisattvas live in a remote corner of the mortal world, so when they discover the changes in this world, they react much faster than the heavens.

Until now, Heaven has not discovered anything wrong with the mortal world.

The way Lingshan obtains spiritual energy is different from that of Heaven. It relies more on the spiritual energy offered by the believers' faith and offerings.

Therefore, the main development of Lingshan is endless missionary work, sculpting golden bodies, and building a Buddhist kingdom.

At the same time, the Buddhas are very open-minded and believe that the essence of lifespan is how long one has experienced rather than how long one has lived relative to others.

In addition, preaching takes time. After all, there is the Heavenly Court, and there is an agreement between the two parties. They cannot plunder believers too ostentatiously, and can only rely on "educating" bit by bit.

This is why the Buddhas of Lingshan did not play the game of one day in heaven equals one year on earth with the Heavenly Court. Although it may seem that they lose their lifespan faster than the Heavenly Court, the time they experience is actually longer than that of the people in the Heavenly Court, so they do not feel that they are at a disadvantage.

"Amitabha, good, good, good."

In this world, almost half of the population believe in Buddhism. Coupled with the rules imposed by Du Mu, the world suddenly becomes extremely safe. Buddhists naturally believe that they are being blessed by the Buddha and become more pious.

After listening to it so many times, Du Mu also learned to chant the Buddhist name.

Then he sneered and said, "That's really good. You only need to kneel down and kowtow to provide spiritual energy. Although the total spiritual energy provided is not as much and refreshing as the alchemy in the heaven, it is better in that it lasts for a long time, and it also makes the Buddhas like to protect mortals more than the heavenly ones."

"such a pity."

Du Mu said, put down his hand, and sighed: "It's a pity that the stronger the spiritual charm of the person kneeling, the more spiritual charm he will provide."

"As a result, the relationship between master and apprentice became as cold and cold as a contract between employees. It was all just a transaction... And in order to make powerful disciples kneel down to worship them, they also let monsters devour people."

"In the final analysis, it is stronger than the Heavenly Court, but it is also limited."

"But monks know that the four elements are empty, and that greed, anger, ignorance and desire are all poisonous. Why do they insist on the four words of immortality?"

As he spoke, Du Mu looked at the stubborn stone beside him and asked, "Don't you think so, Sun Wukong?"

The stone shook again.

Du Mu could sense the ignorant thoughts in it and couldn't help laughing: "It doesn't matter if you don't understand. When you are born and have more experience, you will understand it naturally."

"Unfortunately, understanding the question doesn't mean you can understand the answer."

Du Mu reached into his bosom, pulled out a gourd, and drank from it.

The bubbles of Coca-Cola explode in your mouth. In order to get a good taste, the power of each bubble bursting is equivalent to that of a hydrogen bomb.

And every bit of sweetness contains an indescribable energy.

Any drop of water falling into the ocean can turn the world's ocean water into the taste of cola.

Endless hydrogen bombs exploded in his mouth, but there was no sound from the outside world.

"Ah~"

Du Mu took a sip of the Coke, looked at the gourd, and shook his head, saying, "It tastes bland. It seems that the craftsmanship of making drinks is not up to par."

We are no longer like mortals now. Even a sip of soda full of carbon dioxide can cause stimulation to the body.

Even if Du Mu swallowed a sun at this moment, it would not be as hot as the meatballs fresh out of the hot pot.

On this day, Du Mu directly separated the mental power used to deal with the affairs of the four continents. He no longer paid attention to information from the outside world. He sat next to the spirit stone and set up a table to practice calligraphy of this world.

"I thought this kind of mysterious art without specific values could help me kill some time."

Du Mu looked at the calligraphy he wrote. With his powerful mental strength that could extinguish the sun with a single thought, with just a little concentration, ordinary paper and pen could hardly bear the weight of every word Du Mu wrote. If the person holding the pen was not Du Mu, it would have been turned into dust in an instant.

In the end, Du Mu found some of the more precious elements in the universe and condensed them into paper and pen, so that he could carry the handwriting whose every stroke was as heavy as Mount Tai.

Du Mu did not use any magic to create these words, but even so, due to his extreme insight into the origin of the world, countless spiritual auras gathered at the moment these words were formed.

If Du Mu had not stopped it in time, these spiritual auras would have directly allowed the word "dragon" written by Du Mu to truly cultivate into a spirit and transform into a real dragon to ascend to heaven.

"Is this okay?"

Du Mu was quite helpless as he tried to block the spiritual charm that wanted to flow into his own handwriting.

He just wanted to practice calligraphy, he didn't want to create another life.

In the end, Du Mu put the book back into his arms. The surrounding spiritual energy then swirled around and, having lost its target, poured into the spirit stone beside Du Mu.

Du Mu looked at the stubborn stone and stroked it gently: "I never thought that my itchy hands would bring your birth a little earlier."

Just at this moment, he looked around and found that the strange phenomenon of spiritual energy gathering when he was practicing calligraphy just now had attracted all the local monkeys in Huaguo Mountain.

They gathered around and looked at Du Mu with curious eyes.

Although no one knew who Du Mu was, his demeanor could be faked, and the ability he had just picked up the pen to write something that could draw together the spiritual charm of heaven and earth could also be faked.

The little monkeys knew that the person in front of them must be a great Taoist master, so they gathered around him and chirped. Seeing that Du Mu did not drive them away, they were unwilling to leave.

Du Mu looked at these little monkeys and thought that Huaguo Mountain was indeed a place of great spiritual beauty.

Not only was a congenital stone monkey about to be born, but even the ordinary monkeys had their intelligence awakened. After listening to a few words from the woodcutter who came up the mountain, they were able to speak.

To be honest, the IQ of these monkeys, placed on Earth where there is no supernatural power, is probably smarter than that of some human races that are nicknamed monkeys.

It’s just that these little monkeys are contented and don’t eat meat. The Flower-Fruit Mountain is full of spiritual energy and can be self-sufficient with just berries and peaches. They are naturally innocent.

It is no wonder that even after becoming a Buddha, Sun Wukong could never forget the Flower-Fruit Mountain. After staying in a place full of intrigue for a long time, one would naturally miss a place like the Flower-Fruit Mountain.

"Go away, I don't have anything delicious here."

Du Mu waved his hand, and the little monkeys left in a mess.

Unexpectedly, the next day, countless peaches were delivered to Du Mu, and most of them had been bitten.

When Du Mu saw this, he remembered that he had said yesterday that he had no delicious food, so these little monkeys brought him the peaches they thought were delicious... In order to make sure that they were indeed delicious, they had to taste them first to test the flavor, and only when they found them sweet would they joyfully bring them over.

Du Mu found it interesting and wanted to repay these little monkeys, but after much thought, he found that he could not do so.

There are no monsters from outside causing trouble in the Flower-Fruit Mountain now. There are almost only monkeys in this part of the mountain. As long as they don't go down the mountain, there is no threat at all.

The peaches here are treasures in the world. Although they cannot prolong life like the peaches in heaven, they can ensure that the little monkeys will not get sick and live peacefully until they die of old age.

These little monkeys did not pursue immortality, because most of their companions died of old age without any illness or disaster, and left quietly. They did not develop the habit of crying like mortals, so they just followed the mortals and buried the bodies under the peach trees, that was all.

No wonder Taozi’s spiritual energy is so abundant.

What can I offer to these little monkeys?

Du Mu thought about it and found that there really was no such thing. Was he going to grant them eternal life? Or was he going to give them more spiritual wisdom and let them cultivate for longevity?
But the living conditions of these monkeys were so self-satisfied, comfortable and happy that Du Mu really couldn't bear to destroy them.

Letting them practice and improve their strength seems to be in line with the likes and dislikes of the mortal world, but it also destroys the original balance of Mount Huaguo and makes them become like cattle and horses in the future, pursuing some illusory future and giving up the present that they enjoy.

Finally, Du Mu shook his head slightly, waved his hand, and magic power enveloped the entire Flower-Fruit Mountain.

He still thought of what he could give to the little monkeys in return for the peaches.

Since this place is so beautiful, it will naturally gradually become a treasure land coveted by the outside world.

Anyway, the world doesn’t need Huaguo Mountain that much.

Then, let Huaguo Mountain become a secluded corner, a small place where one can enjoy himself peacefully without being disturbed by any outsiders.

Just at this moment, the spirit stone beside Du Mu suddenly vibrated.
