Warhammer in a box
Chapter 5 Giant Breadcrumbs
Chapter 5 Giant Breadcrumbs
If my fingers can affect the world in the box, then other things can do it too!
Zhang Heng immediately ran to his refrigerator and took out a bag of toast that had been opened for several days. After confirming that it was not spoiled, he took out a piece of it and tore off a small corner. He did not dare to throw the whole piece of bread directly into the box. In case the volume did not change, this piece of toast could directly crush everyone in the city to death.
Looking at the small piece of toast in his hand, Zhang Heng lowered his head and kept searching in the box. Finally, he found a square where there were no little people. Then he gently placed the bread on the square and waited for the reaction of the little people.
At this time, inside the boxes, the empire's soldiers and civilians were still worried about food.
Ludwig tried to comfort the people around him. After all, he had just said that he would defend the city to the death, but he encountered an unsolvable problem right at the beginning. Could he pray to the gods for food? How could the supreme gods care about the material needs of mortals?
After all, most of the gods in Warhammer are high and mighty, and they will never respond to the prayers of an ordinary mortal for food.
Just as the arguments around were becoming more and more intense and showing signs of getting out of control, the ground shook and screams were heard from the town square.
"What happened? Did the orcs attack again?"
The people who had just finished the battle had not yet recovered from the tension. When they heard the sound, they thought that there were some remaining orcs hiding in the city.
"Soldiers! Take up your weapons! Follow me~"
Ludwig picked up his shield and sword again and ran towards the square. The residents he met along the way all had stunned expressions on their faces. Some of them kept saying, "Bread. Such a big bread. God bless you."
This confused Ludwig: "Bread? What big bread? Could it be that the residents are so hungry that they are hallucinating?"
The closer they got to the square, the more residents they met, and they all reacted the same way as the people they had met before, waiting for Ludwig to arrive at the square with his soldiers, and they all became the same.
"Ding Dong." The weapons in Ludwig and the soldiers' hands fell to the ground unconsciously, but no one thought of picking them up.
Everyone opened their mouths and looked forward.
"What a big loaf of bread."
A huge breadcrumb was lying quietly on the town square. The soft, white bread continued to emit an enticing aroma as the breeze blew. The entire breadcrumb almost occupied half of the square, and was even as tall as three people combined.
Such a huge loaf of bread is enough to feed the two thousand people in the town for a long time.
"Great God, can you hear our voices?" Ludwig murmured. He had never heard of any god responding to his believers so frequently.
No one surrounding the square dared to approach, after all, everything before their eyes was too shocking.
People's eyes began to focus on Ludwig, which made the 20-year-old boy feel very pressured for a while.
This is because in people's eyes, Ludwig was the only one who had talked with God, and if this was really a miracle, it should be verified by him.
Ludwig couldn't help swallowing, then he took a deep breath and walked towards the bread crumbs.
The closer he got to the crumbs, the more pronounced the aroma from them became, causing his throat to surge.
Coming to the bread crumbs, Ludwig stretched out his hand tentatively. When his hand touched the bread, he felt a soft touch.
"Very soft." Most of the bread in the empire was hard rye bread, which could even be used as a weapon to kill people after being left for a long time. Only the nobles were qualified to enjoy the soft white bread. After confirming that the object in front of him was not an illusion, Ludwig mustered up the courage to tear off a small piece from it, and then slowly put it into his mouth.
When the bread entered his mouth, a sweet and soft taste came from the tip of his tongue.
"Delicious! It's so delicious! I have never eaten such delicious bread!" Ludwig showed a surprised expression on his face, and then he tore off another piece and put it in his mouth.
"My compatriots! It's bread! And white bread! God has once again performed a miracle. He sees our suffering! Praise God!" Ludwig shouted excitedly.
When the people around saw that Ludwig actually ate the bread in front of him and was fine, they burst into thunderous cheers. Then everyone rushed forward and kept tearing off piece of bread and stuffing it into their mouths.
While eating, he kept praising and thanking Zhang Heng.
For a moment, the people in the whole town began to firmly believe in the existence of Zhang Heng. Where can you find such a god who can grant any wish in this day and age? People also began to believe everything Ludwig said. They were the people chosen by the gods, and this town was also protected by the gods!
From then on, no one asked to leave the city.
"My fellow countrymen! God has once again brought down his miracle! He has provided us with delicious food. No one among us will suffer from hunger anymore. He has responded to us, and we must repay his gift. We must defend this God-given city for him!"
Ludwig, still holding a piece of bread in his hand, shouted to the crowd.
And all the townspeople responded most enthusiastically.
"You did very well!"
Zhang Heng's voice rang in Ludwig's ears again.
Seeing the little man's reaction, Zhang Heng couldn't help but speak to Ludwig, and his voice was transmitted to Ludwig's ears through this magical box.
Ludwig was very excited to hear Zhang Heng's voice again.
"I heard it! God responded to us! He is praising us! Great God, I don't know your name yet."
"You can call me the Lord of Mankind, or you can call me the Emperor. I will lead you out of all darkness like a beacon, but the premise is that you must believe in me!"
"Emperor, Lord of Mankind." Upon hearing Zhang Heng's words, Ludwig knelt on his knees and bowed devoutly.
Zhang Heng, who successfully pretended to be the emperor outside the box, was watching all this with satisfaction. He once again verified that objects in reality can really be put into the box and produce an effect. What made him even happier was that his actions saved many people.
In Zhang Heng's eyes, everything in the box was real, and the life inside was of course real as well. Zhang Heng felt very proud that he was God.
After feeling proud of himself, he discovered that double-headed eagle logos began to appear on the heads of the little people other than Ludwig, but the size of the logos were obviously much smaller than the one on Ludwig's head.
"Huh? If I make them believe in me, can I mark them and make them my exclusive figures? Not to mention that this box looks too much like a game. Isn't this equivalent to increasing the population and recruiting troops? If so, then I can definitely develop the city! I want to get back at my roots!" Zhang Heng looked at everything in the city excitedly.
In Zhang Heng's mind, this city has become his base for exploring the world in this box.
