Quezhou asked back, "Buddhist catastrophe, why would you use this term?"
"The demon Buddha Poxun has returned to the world, ushering in the Dharma Ending Age. All dharmas have become illusions. Shouldn't this be called a catastrophe for Buddhism?"
Sanyu Wumengsheng threw the question to Quezhou.
"Alas~ Actually, the initial form of Po Xun was not what everyone knows now."
From Quezhou's mouth, a secret history of the Buddhist world was told, "In the past, the Demon Buddha Poxun came to the world with three spirits. He had great aspirations for the world and promoted the faith of the Desire Realm. He was regarded as a heretic by the Buddhas such as 'Yoga Yu Bodhi', the founder of the Heavenly Buddha's Origin, and called on all Buddhists to establish the 'Dirty Buddha Sin Cleansing Realm' to attack Poxun. During the long years of fighting, Poxun became the one that everyone knows today."
Wu Mengsheng waved his feather fan and said, "It seems that your attitude towards Mara is different from that of mainstream Buddhism." Quezhou said, "In the past, when the Buddha was about to attain Buddhahood, Mara, as one of the demons, came to stop him. Later, he often followed the Buddha and his disciples to cause trouble and make things difficult for them. His footprints covered Rajgir, Vaisali, Parana, Urbhara, Sala Brahmin, Shakya Stone Lord Shakya, Uzampali Brahmin Women's Grove, Pochi Shoutu Mountain Bhikkhus Forest, etc. Wherever the Buddha and his disciples were, Mara might appear. Mara appeared at important moments such as after the Buddha's enlightenment and before his death, and frequently appeared when the Buddha was walking alone, lying down, meditating, begging for food, and preaching to the monks or the four groups of people. He also often appeared alone in front of the Buddha's disciples. Through other scriptures, he clashed with the Buddha and his disciples. It is said that the Buddha had a 'clashed' with Mara before he attained enlightenment."
Wu Mengsheng waved his feather fan lightly, without expressing his attitude, but simply summarized and stated: "It is recorded in Buddhist scriptures that Mara hindered the practice of Buddha and his disciples."
Quezhou Yifandu continued, "The wise Ananda once asked the Buddha, 'World Honored One! When I preached the Dharma before, my majesty was unique. But now that the great assembly has gathered, my majesty is no longer visible. Why is this so? There must be a reason. I wish to hear the reason.' The Buddha remained silent. This continued for three times. The Buddha told Ananda, 'After my Nirvana, when the Dharma is about to perish, the five evils will perish in this age of depravity. The devil will flourish. The devil will become a monk and destroy my Dharma. He will wear worldly clothes, like to wear robes and colorful clothes, drink alcohol and eat meat, kill for pleasure, have no compassion, and hate each other. At that time, there were Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats who were diligent in cultivating virtues and treated them with respect. What people admire is to teach equality, to pity the poor and the elderly, to save the poor and the needy, to always use scriptures and images to make people serve, to do good deeds, to be kind and benevolent, not to harm others, to sacrifice oneself to help others, not to be self-deprecating, to endure humiliation and be kind. If there is such a person, all demons and monks will be jealous of him, slander him and spread his evil, expel him and drive him away, and not let him stay. The path of the Buddha is difficult, if there is no obstacle from the Mara, how can he prove the correctness of the Dharma? This is the reason why "Shakyamuni Buddha has a very long life. The reason is that although the flesh body has passed away, the Dharma body exists. This is its meaning. We should remember and practice it."
Sanyu naturally understood Quezhou's intention, "Master, your intention is that the return of Poxun can eliminate the current corrupt and outdated Buddhist teachings, change the atmosphere and allow the true classics to be passed down."
Quezhou explained the cause and effect of the Heavenly Buddha Hometown, "In the past, in order to fight against Poxun, Yu Bodhi, the Consciousness-Only Buddha, founded the Impure Buddha Cleansing World, and later forged the Tathagata Sacred Artifact. Although he suppressed the Demon Buddha for a while, he also made him understand the truth of the Heavenly Buddha Hometown."
"It is because Yu Bodhi knows that merit and sin are interdependent and coexist, so he lets the Buddha Land help the cultivators absorb their sins, and then purifies them with merit after the cultivators have achieved success. This is also why the advanced cultivators who have been tested by demons are the easiest to approach the Buddha Land."
"So, when Po Xun realized the truth about the Buddha's land, he sent people to infiltrate the Buddha's land, taking on thousands of sins for his own use, and became the existence that is most capable of destroying Buddhism. This is cause and effect."
"If the founder of the Buddhist Village had chosen another way to get along with Po Xun, perhaps Buddhism would not have suffered the disaster it has today."
Quezhou's words made Wu Mengsheng ponder for a while, "Then may I ask, sir, what is the meaning of the principle of the Desire Realm, 'Kill the Buddha when you see the Buddha, kill the ancestors when you see the ancestors, kill the Arhats when you see the Arhats, kill the parents when you see the parents, and kill the relatives when you see the relatives.'"
Quezhou explained to Wu Mengsheng: "The original meaning of this statement is that if you want to achieve the Great Dao, you must purify your mind and not be affected by the various things mentioned above. It does not literally mean to kill people."
After hearing Wan Quezhou's answer, Wu Mengsheng smiled and asked, "I didn't expect you to be proficient in the Desire Realm."
"Because I..." Quezhou drank the tea in the cup in front of him, and then slowly said: "Not alone."
After these words were spoken, Wu Mengsheng fell into deep thought.
Looking up again, Wu Mengsheng asked the meaning of the name of the missing boat, "Then may I ask, with a missing boat and a sail, who can be ferried across?"
Quezhou replied: "Quezhou cannot save others, but those who are enlightened can save themselves."
Wu Mengsheng asked: "If everyone in the world can understand and realize, then why is there so much suffering in the world?"
