Captain Jack of Azeroth

Chapter 10 Palatine Port

Chapter 10 Palatine Port
"beep--"

The assembly horn sounded throughout the South Sea Town Pier. Jack hurried out of the barracks and ran all the way back to the Wave Goddess.

The sailors who had returned had already begun preparing to set sail. Jack immediately ran back to his workstation and followed others to pull the anchor.

"Has anyone returned yet?" Fizmos would ask loudly every few minutes, and only when everyone returned did he give the order: "Leave the port!"

The sailors used long wooden poles to push the Wave Goddess away from the dock, and the warship slowly sailed out of the port.

Captain Harindor stepped on the figurehead and tested the wind direction and speed with his spit. "Raise the side sail—"

"Raise the side sail—"

Fizmos ran to the mast while shouting, helping the sailors to adjust the angle of the side sails and let the Wave Goddess sail southeast. The other warships in the fleet did the same thing, and soon more than a dozen warships lined up in a row, which was spectacular at first glance.

Jack looked at the majestic Captain Harindor and felt envious.

If he had a ship of his own, people would call him Captain Jack.

After the speed of the warship is increased, so many sailors will not be needed. Except for the sailors on duty, everyone else can move freely for the time being.

Jack got together with a few sailors he was familiar with and started chatting with each other.

"Where is the fleet going this time?"

"Port Palatine."

"Port Palatine?" Jack scratched his head. "Why haven't I heard of this port?"

The sailor explained: "Port Paladin is located in the north of Ironforge, very close to the north gate of Ironforge. It is a very important strategic location."

"Since Stormwind was breached, the orc army has been attacking northwards, all the way to Ironforge. The dwarves were no match for them, so they had to retreat to Ironforge and defend. The orcs were unable to breach Ironforge for a while, so they had to continue northwards. However, in order to prevent the dwarves from attacking the logistics line, the orcs had to send troops to block all exits of Ironforge."

"Yesterday, the orcs began to attack Paladin Port. The dwarves asked the Alliance for help. Sir Lothar ordered our Third Fleet to set off first to assist the dwarves in defending Paladin Port."

Jack thought about it, but still had no information about Palatine Port. He shook his head and didn't take it to heart.

Two days later, the fleet saw land. Under the command of Captain Harindor, the fleet sailed south along the coast. After sailing for another three days, Jack finally saw a dwarf-style port.

"We've arrived at Port Palatine!"

Fizmos walked past him and patted his shoulder, shouting, "Don't just stand there, get to work, we'll be entering the port soon."

Jack then came to his senses. Isn't this the port of Menethil?

Then Jack remembered that the name of Menethil Harbor was given by the dwarves to thank the Alliance for its rescue, using the surname of King Terenas, the supreme ruler of the Alliance.

All of a sudden, he felt a surge of fear.

Could it be that the Third Fleet that came to rescue Menethil Harbor was the one that was completely wiped out?
The stress reaction hit him instantly, making his whole body stiff.

At this time, a sailor hurried by and accidentally knocked him to the ground.

"Are you OK?"

The sailor helped Jack up, and Jack finally recovered from his stiffness.

"I'm fine!"

After saying that, he quickly ran to his workstation. The sailor looked at him strangely, and then continued to work. As the fleet approached, the observer on the watchtower soon discovered the situation.

"The orcs are attacking Port Paladin!"

Captain Harindor hurried to the bow, took out a telescope, and observed the battlefield. The orcs' attack was extremely fierce. If Paladin Port had not been built on an island, it would have been captured by the orcs long ago. Even so, the dwarves could only rely on the terrain to defend with difficulty.

"Mate!"

Fizmos ran over immediately, "Captain."

Captain Harindor pointed at the battlefield and said, "The dwarves can no longer hold on. I need you to bring the combatants to reinforce them."

"As you command!" Fizmos turned around without hesitation and sent down from the bridge, "Combatants, get ready. Once the fleet enters the port, follow me to support the dwarves."

"Yes!"

The sailors responded loudly, and Jack, standing in the crowd, also shouted. However, his shout was a little weak, and the fate of the annihilation of the Third Fleet made him feel the threat of death.

"Enter the port!"

The Third Fleet slowly entered the port. The Wave Goddess had just docked and had not yet dropped anchor when Fitzmoss jumped onto the dock and took the lead running towards the gate of Palatine Port.

The sailors rushed down the warship one after another, following Fizmos's footsteps. Jack followed the crowd and subconsciously reached for the dwarven pistol at his waist. After taking the dwarven pistol in his hand, he felt much more at ease.

At the gate of Paladin Harbor, the fortifications built by the dwarves had been breached, and more than a dozen orcs had already rushed in. Fortunately, there were dwarf musketeers behind the gate, accompanying the other dwarves and preventing the orcs from moving forward any further.

"kill--"

"Hold on, we're coming—"

As the sailors rushed over, they shouted to remind the dwarves that reinforcements had arrived. As expected, the battlefield situation changed immediately, the morale of the dwarves increased greatly, and the exhausted infantry suddenly gained more strength and swung their hammers vigorously.

The orcs were anxious and wanted to attack but they kept making mistakes and were almost driven back out of the gate.

Fizmos arrived first. He was an expert swordsman and launched a strong attack, killing an orc who was fighting with a dwarf infantry with one sword. The sailors rushed over and surrounded an orc with two or three people, and started a group fight. The orcs were no match for the four hands, and were soon stabbed by the long sword. The wound affected their movements, and they were then hacked to death by the sailors' swords.

Jack rushed over, and the moment he saw the orc, his stress reaction reappeared. But he just froze for a moment, and then moved again. The fear on his face disappeared in a blink, replaced by an indifferent expression and murderous eyes.

Jack rushed to the gap in a few steps and raised the dwarf's pistol.

An orc just rushed in, and Jack put the pistol to the orc's face without hesitation and pulled the trigger.

"Bam—"

The orc's face suddenly burst into pieces. The iron bullet knocked open the orc's skull and went out from the back of his head.

Before Jack could admire his handiwork, another orc rushed in. He charged straight at Jack, and Jack had no time to reload his ammunition, so he could only raise his sword to meet him.

Compared with the orc's combat experience, his swordsmanship was simply a world of difference. The orc held the axe in both hands and knocked Jack's sword away with one blow, and then kicked Jack to the ground. When the orc raised the axe and was about to cut Jack in two, a gunshot came from the side, and then a bullet pierced the orc's neck.

Jack rolled to the side, avoiding the orc's body. After he stood up again, he immediately looked at Fizmos with gratitude, because it was he who shot and saved Jack's life.

Fizmos teased, "It seems you need more practice in swordsmanship."
