Chapter 23: Crawler

Xuanzhen didn't say anything, but went through the plot. Here, the female soldier Lane was cutting the door, and Spence was asking why he lost his memory.

"Sir, the gate has been opened." Lane took off her goggles and said to James.

James nodded to them and walked towards the slowly opening door. It was pitch black inside the door. They put on night vision goggles. James looked back at Xuan Zhen and the other two, hesitated for a moment, and called Zhang Jie.

Zhang Jie nodded, threw the cigarette butt on the ground and stomped it out, then pressed the back of his head, fully armed, picked up his weapon and set off.

"Brother Zhang Jie, haven't you seen Resident Evil?" Zhan Lan walked up to Xuan Zhen and asked in a low voice.

"Are you asking why he's so cautious?" Xuanzhen looked down at the softer girl with glasses.

"You need to confirm your identity. The security guard has lost his memory." Xuanzhen pointed at his head.

When they were about 20 meters away from James, Xuan Zhen slowly caught up with him, saying as he walked, "I'll tell you another piece of news. Saving the mercenary Lord will reward you with points. This is much faster than fighting zombies."

On the other side, James and his companions opened the elevator door. It was pitch black inside. A mercenary threw a flare down and saw the situation inside the elevator clearly.

James's face darkened even more. He looked at his watch, turned around and said to everyone, "Take the stairs. We must reach the bottom in ten minutes. Let's go."

"The first test is coming, follow me." Xuan Zhen looked back at the fat man. If the fat man was a little crueler to him, or a little smarter, Xuan Zhen wouldn't mind saving him.

But he also caught up. After going down a few stairs, there was an explosion on the upper floor, which scared a few people.

"Is this what it means to be wiped out? Why is it a self-destruction?" Xuan Zhen thought to himself and explained, "Just now, the fat guy fell behind and was wiped out. There was a bang, so you have to adjust your mentality, especially you, Zhan Lan. I see that you still look like you don't care."

"Should we rescue him?" Zhang Jie slowed down and said.

"Why didn't I see you being so kind when I first came in? You left a group of us without knowing anything. If I wasn't lucky, I would be dead."

"Haha, haha, that's a different situation." Zhang Jie laughed twice and quickened his pace and left. Zheng Zha on the side ran while paying attention to the conversation behind him.

A group of people came to the bottom. Xuan Zhen saw that Zheng Zha's face was a little pale, his hands and feet were shaking, and Zhan Lan's face was a little blue, obviously frightened by the explosion just now.

"Calm down, have one?" Xuan Zhen gave the first cigarette to Zheng Zha, who lit it after saying thank you.

Are you thinking that the day when you become a superman is just around the corner? It is indeed exciting here, and it can indeed make people become supermen, but you have to risk your life." Kaplan looked at the computer and said, "This is Restaurant B. This is what the map shows."

"It seems that there is some unknown research of the company here, so everyone be careful. Ryan, DJ, there may be survivors here, you guard the exit and search, but don't go too far." James said.

"Zhang Jie." Xuanzhen called out to Zhang Jie and motioned him to come through.

"What's wrong?" Zhang Jie opened his mask and asked.

"Look at what's in the container. One hundred bucks for each."

"How to do it? Just do it?"

"It's a bit too many, twenty-seven. I'll open a container and let one out. You shoot it to attract the mercenaries and let James and the others join us. "Then I'll leave this one to you." Xuan Zhen did not answer Zheng Zha's words. He pulled hard with both hands, and the container was opened. Inside was an ugly monster, a crawler, with only a mouth and no eyes. Brain patterns could be seen on its head, and huge forelimbs with claws.

"James, you'd better come and see what kind of monster this is?" Xuan Zhen shouted.

"Go ahead, Zheng Zha." After Xuan Zhen shouted, he turned around and urged Zheng Zha. Zheng Zha took a deep breath, gripped the machete tightly with both hands, gritted his teeth, and stabbed the crawler's head with the machete, piercing the head through, then pulled out the knife with a pale face.

"Good boy, you're quite brave." Zhang Jie praised.

"My God, it's hard to imagine what kind of monster the company is researching." James and a few others gathered around and frowned at the crawler.

"James, we are going to find Red Queen and shut it down later, right?" Xuan Zhen said to James.

"Yes, what's the problem?" The black man James turned his head and looked at Xuan Zhen.

"Shit. Kaplan, can you open these things one by one and we can destroy them one by one?" James asked Kaplan.

"Sir, yes, but it will take too much time. One door takes more than a minute. There are so many here, all of them may take an hour." Kaplan fiddled with the computer for a while and shook his head.

"James, we may have a way, but I need you to help us guard the surroundings. Maybe the hive's loss of contact is related to monsters like this. Their research may have gotten out of control." Xuan Zhen said half-truthfully.

"Okay, but you have to hurry, we don't have much time." James said.

"Zhang Jie, you take Zheng Zha and let him kill two more. Liu Yuhao, you take Li Xiaoyi and give him three. Zhan Lan, come with me." After Xuan Zhen finished speaking, the few of them separated. Xuan Zhen took out a pistol and handed it to Zhan Lan.

"Aim and shoot from close to the face. Stop when you get the prompt." Zhan Lan nodded, and Xuan Zhen taught her how to shoot.
