Ji Xianlin once commented that Hu Shi "is a scholar, to put it bluntly, he is just a scholar." He also cited a small incident that Hu Shi announced before a meeting that he would leave early. He was full of energy, his eyebrows were dancing, and he was eloquent, and he even forgot to leave the meeting early.

Hu Shi: "In a normal country, adults are responsible for politics, and young people are interested in sports, entertainment, and making friends with the opposite sex; while in a perverted country, politics is too much, and there is no agency to represent public opinion, so interference in politics The responsibility for this must fall on the young students.”

According to the official database of the Nobel Prize, Hu Shi was nominated as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Science in 1939.
