Chapter 303 The Master's Hint
Chapter 303 The Master's Hint
"The days of chaos will eventually pass, and society is constantly progressing. Even if history is the history of the victors, it cannot cover up the truth of history." Master Wen Chan just smiled, and then said something that seemed to have a profound meaning.
Zhang Wufeng had some vague guesses in his mind, but he didn't say it out loud. He just nodded casually.
“This is an age where people believe in scientific explanations for everything. Even if science cannot explain many things, people still deliberately seek a scientific explanation to numb themselves.
Just like the sarira that has always been regarded as a treasure by Buddhists, modern people say that it is stones, bone residue that was not completely cremated, and the result of long-term vegetarianism.
These claims are actually ridiculous. In the eyes of Buddhists, so-called science is nothing more than a lie spread under the guise of a seemingly reasonable explanation.
According to these statements, everyone can have relics after death. But in fact, even in Buddhism, unless the monk has a certain level of ability, generally no relics will appear.
The phenomenon of relics is actually very rare, but in recent years, the phenomenon of relics has appeared frequently, which is considered to be a relatively gratifying thing.
In December 1990, the eminent monk Master Hongchuan passed away. After cremation, people found 12 colorful, crystal-like hard objects in his ashes, some of which sparkled like diamonds. According to identification, these are exactly the same as the precious relics of Buddhism.
On the evening of May 1993, 5, Master Zhao Wuliji, the 7-year-old great sutra master of the only Lamaist Shiyin Temple in Dongyan Shuiling, my country, felt unwell and wanted to return to his hometown of Xinfu. Unexpectedly, he passed away quietly just after the temple sent someone to take him to Shuiling Railway Station. The master's body was sent to the Wenguantun Funeral Home in Shuiling for cremation. After cremation, dozens of precious crystalline relics in red, green, yellow, black, and white colors were found in his ashes. The big ones were like soybeans, and the small ones were like rice grains. These were also the precious relics left by the master after his death.
Such things still happen from time to time, which shows that relics do exist and are not as mythical as science says, but they are not stones or something like that.
It is a fact that sarira is the crystallization of the merits of practicing precepts, concentration and wisdom. Because this kind of treasure is only seen among Buddhists, and has never been seen in any patient with gallstones, its various symptoms indicate that it cannot be gallstones.
Medical students should understand the appearance and physical properties of stones. The main components of stones are calcium or metal salt deposits, which are similar in shape to scale and are also fragile, so they can be crushed with ultrasound. These things will turn into powdered oxides at high temperatures.
Moreover, the number of stones in the body is extremely small, otherwise it will endanger life, but some highly respected Buddhist masters sometimes have a very astonishing number of relics, ranging from dozens to tens of thousands, and in various colors and shapes. Can a person with so many "stones that cannot be burned" survive?
In fact, many Buddhist masters are very long-lived, and it is not uncommon to be over a hundred years old. They are not only healthy but also vigorous during their lifetime. They do not feel any unusual discomfort when they pass away. However, after their death, they will leave many relics.
There is also a saying that it is because of vegetarianism, but in fact it is not only monks who eat vegetarian food all year round that have relics. A lay Buddhist who converted for only one year also had colorful relics after cremation. Ordinary vegetarians, and many vegetarian animals, do they have relics? "
Master Wen Chan said very piously.
Zhang Wufeng nodded deeply upon hearing this. Indeed, when talking to such a monk, he knew that he had a very broad knowledge and insight. He cited many examples while speaking, which was dizzying, but his arguments were clear and sufficient.
Talking to such a person is often like listening to teachings, making people feel refreshed and suddenly enlightened.
……
“As for relics, there are also Buddha’s real body and blood relics.
Relics is a Sanskrit word meaning bone body, or spiritual bone, or solid seed. In Buddhism, relics usually refer to the bones, hair or remains left behind by the Buddha or a great monk after his death. They are crystals formed during cremation and are revered as sacred objects of Buddhism.
The Buddha and the great monks left behind relics that can make us yearn for them and develop a longing heart, and believe in and obey the Dharma. The Buddha originally had no birth and death. The reason why he died and did not stay in the world for a short time was a convenient manifestation, in order to prevent sentient beings from developing a dependent mind, or even a bored and lazy mind. The Lotus Sutra says: "If you see that the Tathagata is always indestructible, you will become arrogant and lazy. You will not be able to think that it is difficult to encounter and have a respectful heart. Therefore, the Tathagata said by expedient means, bhikkhus should know that it is difficult to encounter the Buddhas when they appear in the world." After the Buddha showed his death, he left behind relics for sentient beings to build pagodas for offerings. This is to make sentient beings think of offering and respecting the Buddha, and to see the relics and think of seeing the Buddha, and even "wish to see the Buddha with one heart, not caring about their own life", so that they can practice vigorously and diligently. If we sincerely and respectfully offer the Buddha's relics, we will be able to communicate with the Tao and make the Buddha appear. This is not lacking in historical and modern evidence. In the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha said: "At that time, I and all the monks came out of Mount Vulture Peak. I told sentient beings that they would always be here and would not perish. Because of the power of expedient means, there is extinction and non-extinction." He also advised, "You wise men, do not doubt this. You should put an end to it forever. The Buddha's words are true." During the Sui Dynasty, when Master Zhizhe of Tiantai was reading the Lotus Sutra and reached the chapter on the original story of Medicine King Bodhisattva, he suddenly entered into a state of concentration and saw Mount Vulture Peak, which seemed to have not yet dispersed.
......"
Master Wen Chan's teachings gradually became more profound, but Zhang Wufeng understood them completely and benefited greatly from them.
It’s not that Zhang Wufeng has developed faith because of this, but because of his understanding of these things, Zhang Wufeng can better understand the Qiankun Stone and Qiankun Jade.
At this time, Zhang Wufeng finally understood that the so-called 'Qiankun Jade' was not just jade.
It can be said that this thing has gone beyond the scope of jade and reached another realm and level.
What comes out of stone is jade, and what grows out of human bones is Qiankun stone.
The gap in realm has reached a shocking level.
In fact, when Zhang Wufeng knew that the relic was the Qiankun Stone, he already had some understanding in his mind, but since he had not been taught in person, Zhang Wufeng did not have a deep feeling. After all, he had never experienced it personally, so even if the description was vivid, the feeling would not be that vivid.
But only when you truly experience it will you feel moved and feel it is relevant.
"Master, what you said has given me a cause and effect. Although I don't believe in cause and effect, I will definitely put this affection into action and return it. Master, don't worry about the Qiankun Coin. Although not all the relics used to make Qiankun Coins are Buddhist relics, all Qiankun Coins are definitely worthy of your worship." Zhang Wufeng said seriously. "Young Master Zhang said this, I am very pleased. At this moment, I have said everything I should say. I will leave a poem for Young Master Zhang, hoping that Young Master Zhang can get a glimpse of the opportunity."
Master Wen Chan said with a smile, then he murmured for a moment and chanted in a calm voice:
It's ridiculous that different sects are bickering with each other, just like we have different paths.
The rotten bones of the world are buried in the yellow soil, only the Buddha's pagoda stands against the blue sky.
The Gunang Mountain furnace is forged without damage, and the iron hammer and frost axe make it even stronger.
There is truly no equal in the three thousand worlds, and he is the most predestined among the nineteen.
Princes of hundreds of generations vied to support him, and the emperors of the Six Dynasties successively maintained his throne.
If you can kneel down, the sin will be incomplete, or if you lower your head, the fruit will gradually become round.
The three-level eaves press down on the land of Lu, and the nine-plate wheels strengthen the Qinchuan.
Besides the Sakyamuni, whom the scriptures talk about, please do not bother talking about saints and wise men from ancient times to the present.
……
Master Wen Chan left. Although he couldn't be said to have disappeared without a trace, Zhang Wufeng was indeed inferior to him in terms of his martial arts skills.
If he were to fight against such a strong man, Zhang Wufeng would not dare to claim victory easily, because it was obvious that facing such a master, Zhang Wufeng's crystal force restraint would not work at all.
Although this competition has never started, Zhang Wufeng knows by hunch that the result of this kind of competition can be known without even starting.
"The seventh level of the white ring crystal ring has to go to the eighth, ninth and tenth levels, which is not close. The devouring must continue. However, this time, from my own test, Yun Xingfeng's performance, and the black shadow that was killed, the Sky City organization is not scary. Master Wen Chan's arrival is obviously to let me know more about the 'relic', and his intention is probably to make me pay more attention to the relic and respect it more.
This shows that he was worried that I would massacre some respected monks in order to obtain the Qiankun Stone and seek the relics.
In fact, even if I don't say it, I, Zhang Wufeng, will definitely not slaughter those who have righteousness and compassion in their bodies. Generally, I will not offend others if they don't offend me. I am not unaware of some people who are highly respected and have righteousness in their hearts. Will they deliberately provoke and bully me? This is obviously unlikely.
Unless one day I am slandered, or become a demon in the eyes of the world, this is possible, but the real strong have always had a certain sense of whether there is righteousness in a person's heart, and this cannot be concealed. "
Standing on the balcony, Zhang Wufeng took a puff of cigarette and talked to himself.
Zhang Wufeng already knew these thoughts in his heart, but he did not express them explicitly to Master Wen Chan.
Master Wen Chan did not say it directly, which was not hypocrisy, but he just thought that Zhang Wufeng would not go down this path. Zhang Wufeng did not say it, which was not hypocrisy, but he just thought that such a guarantee was unnecessary, because no matter how wonderful the future was, it would not be as good as actual action.
"Ding-dong-"
There was a doorbell sound outside the room. Zhang Wufeng used his crystal power to open the door bolt directly, and the door was opened the next moment.
Outside the door, Sun Tingting and Sun Yunyun stood tall and graceful. They were obviously much younger and more beautiful. At this moment, they were both wearing almost identical military uniforms, looking extremely heroic.
"Brother, where are you?"
"I'm on the balcony." Zhang Wufeng answered loudly.
"Oh, are you preparing to play the erhu?" Sun Yunyun asked first, and then walked towards the balcony.
