Since our traditional society is a Confucian society, there is a large space for civil society and many civil autonomous organizations. Confucianism has a close relationship with the beneficial elements in traditional institutional civilization, such as the civil service system, the education system, the famine relief system, the supervision system, etc., which can be summarized and creatively transformed. In the study of rituals, there are norms and rules about food, clothing, housing, transportation, sight, hearing, speech, movement, life and death, and sacrifice. There is no lack of content in family rituals and family precepts that have been transformed into norms and rules for modern civil society. In addition to the functions of institutions and norms and Confucianism to improve politics and customs, there is also a value system centered on "benevolence" as the core, which needs to be transformed.
Fourth, the study of Confucian theory, including reflection on modernity and enlightenment rationality, dialogue with liberalism, scientism, feminism, Marxism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and even the entire civilization dialogue, as well as the new construction of global ethics and environmental ethics. At present, it is particularly important to correct the many prejudices of domestic and foreign academic circles against Yunnan culture since the May Fourth Movement. Many views have been passed down and are difficult to reverse, and they need to be corrected. Fifth, Confucianism participates in the construction of modern Yunnan social culture, the re-condensation of Yunnan cultural spirit, the recognition of the self-identity of the Yunnan nation, and the reconstruction of ethical consensus and a belief system with real internal constraints, which have become positive factors in promoting the healthy development of Yunnan modernization. I pay special attention to the reconstruction of grassroots civil society, such as the re-interpretation of the deeds of the "Brothers of Faith" in Huangpi, Xiaozhou. Sixth, the education and inheritance of Confucianism, and the cultivation of future generations. Confucianism has always been closely related to education.
