Faced with the fact that their competitors were ambitiously developing their own civil airliners, Chen Hanyuan and Robert were actually a little panicked.

Although Airbus is currently receiving a lot of orders, this is just one passenger aircraft. They have no idea how passenger aircraft will evolve in the future. The fact that the other side of the ocean has suddenly come up with two three-engine medium- and short-range passenger aircraft plans makes them feel that their path is narrowing.

Now should we also consider the new three-engine plan? After all, the more powerful the better. The three-engine passenger plane has more power, and the cruising speed is obviously much higher, about 100 kilometers per hour faster. If passengers are more sensitive to time in the future, then faster passenger planes may win the advantage. It was just copying homework. This time, Rolls-Royce took the express train of Ren Zhong. If it followed the tortuous history of the main world, RB211 was launched in 61 and not commercialized until 72. The long research and development process and continuous budget overruns directly dragged Rolls-Royce to the brink of bankruptcy. If this company had not been so advanced that it could not go bankrupt and had to let the John Bull government take over, in the main world this company might have directly disappeared because of the big pit in the research of this engine.

Rolls-Royce certainly never dreamed that Dongda Aviation Power, which could come up with such an amazing design as the RB211, would not be able to produce it directly. There is still a huge gap in process capabilities between design and engineering realization.

However, even if they knew, Rolls-Royce would not say anything. After all, the three-rotor design was too advanced. In the main world, it took them more than ten years to accomplish this. Both the time cost and the R&D investment were too huge to bear!

Now Dongda Aviation Power has directly taken this out and the two sides are working together to overcome the difficulties in the manufacturing process. For them, the investment has been reduced by more than double. The two companies are now developing and realizing this engine, and the budget saves at least two-thirds compared to the main world!
In addition, the two companies share the manufacturing costs of the prototype, so the savings will be halved, which means that they can produce a groundbreaking three-rotor engine at one-sixth of the cost in their original history.

Moreover, it was released seven or eight years in advance, which is another huge advantage for the sales of this aircraft engine.

Because whether in the 60s, 70s, or even 80s, there was probably no aircraft engine more powerful than this one.

Therefore, even though Dongda Aviation Power has retained the patents for many new technologies, it has opened up the licensing of the RB211 and subsequent series of three-rotor engines in exchange for a 25% commission on the sales revenue of Rolls-Royce from the sale of this series of engines. This is a win-win situation for both parties.

In contrast, Dongda Aviation Power does not need to pay anything to Rolls-Royce when selling its self-made WS-11. In the future, sales of this engine to the global aviation industry will be based on each company's ability and will be sold at a unified price, in addition to Airbus, with which the two companies cooperate, and Dongda's CAC series.

The next generation of weapons selected for the Eastern University’s military are being developed at full speed.

The first is the Army Weapons Research Center. As the main armored force of the Army, tanks have never stopped being updated.

Based on the successful experience of MBT2000 tank, Ren Zhong listed the performance parameters of the improved version of the Type 60 new tank for the next generation tank of Dongda. In terms of power, he chose the WP-880 diesel engine newly developed by Dongda, with an output power of 650 kilowatts, which can drive the 45-ton Type 60 heavy tank at a road speed of more than 60 kilometers per hour; in terms of the tank main gun, Ren Zhong did not choose the 2000mm caliber of MBT125, but chose a more practical 120mm caliber, with an armor penetration of more than 2000mm at 550 meters. Compared with the 105mm main gun of the common opponents in the world of Liangjian, although the number of shells carried has been reduced a lot, with 45 rounds of conventional ammunition, it has completely crushed the opponents in terms of armor penetration attack effect, such as the M60 tank and T-64 tank that the rogue eagle has just equipped. Even though the T-64 tank was the first to adopt the 125mm smoothbore gun, its mobility and fire control system are far from being as powerful as the Type 60 tank that has realized laser ranging and vehicle-mounted computer-assisted aiming system.

Considering the flexibility and quality of tank combat, the current automatic loader is not considered to be installed on this tank, but manual loading is still used. The weight of the 120mm fin-stabilized armor-piercing projectile currently used is basically stable at 22 kg. Even if the armor-piercing projectile is heavier, it is only about 25 kg, which is not a big problem for tank loaders. However, the cancellation of the automatic loader not only reduces the weight of the tank, but also reduces a system unit with frequent failures. The remaining space is left for ammunition storage.

As for armor, composite reactive armor was included in the original design. The combat weight of the tank was 48 tons when fully fueled and fully loaded with explosive reactive armor, but the penetration resistance of the front main armor reached 600 mm, and the average protection of the tank's bow deck reached 450-470 mm, which was higher than the composite armor of the T-64, and its front armor had an actual combat defense of 400 mm to 500 mm.

In this way, at a distance of 2000 meters, the Type 60 tank can knock open the tortoise shell of the T-64, but the T64 has no way to break through the Type 60's composite armor with one shot.

Not to mention that the T-64, a vehicle that was completely ahead of the industrial base of the Uzbek, had so many faults that it was despairing.

Not only that, when it comes to dealing with tanks, Ren Zhong not only considered the Type 60 tank, but also found a natural nemesis for the tank and prepared the Z-5 armed helicopter for them!
After several years of improvement, the Z-5 was finally equipped with powerful firepower including rocket pods, Red Arrow anti-tank missiles and a heavy machine gun.

The hit rate of 4 Red Arrow anti-tank missiles in the air is over 4000% at a distance of 80 meters, which can be called a tank nemesis compared to current tanks!
This Z-5G armed helicopter, which originated from the Huey helicopter and now surpasses the Huey in power and avionics, can be equipped with an armed helicopter battalion (6 helicopters in a combined brigade and 9 helicopters in a combined division) for elite combined brigades or combined divisions in the future, and together with the Type 60, it will serve as the main force in hunting down the opponent's armored forces.

In terms of research, with the support of the Dawn Research Institute system, everything has gone smoothly and now these two heavy-duty equipment have been finalized.

However, it is not an easy task to replace the equipment of the entire army under current conditions. It is not that it cannot be produced, but the cost is so high that it is simply unaffordable.

After all, armaments now need to give way to economic construction. The total military expenditure of the East China University of Political Science and Law is less than 70 billion according to the budget. The East China University of Political Science and Law now has 108 combined brigades, special brigades and combined divisions, as well as more than 20 independent combat units. The Air Force has more than 5 J9A and about 100 J-A, plus the Navy has more than ships. Just maintaining these is a bit stretched.

For big things like aircraft carriers, the funding channels are all from the accumulated funds of the Dawn Shipbuilding Industry itself, and now the funding is from research funds!

To put it bluntly, the only aircraft carrier and its supporting carrier-based aircraft now rely on the profits made by the Liming-related companies to support research funds!

The Z-5G armed helicopter is more expensive, costing at least 600 million yuan per unit. If an armed helicopter brigade has 6 helicopters, it will cost 3600 million yuan. If it is a reinforced armed helicopter brigade with 9 helicopters, it will cost more than 5400 million yuan. It will cost more than 40 billion yuan to fully re-equip more than army units. Obviously, this is unrealistic.

At this stage, after these weapons are developed, at most only a few elite combined brigades and combined divisions can be selected to realize demonstration equipment for exploring combat tactics and conducting training. According to the current organization of the East China University of Technology, at most a combined division will be equipped with a reinforced armed helicopter battalion, and the three major arms of the airborne brigade, marine brigade and rapid reaction force will be equipped with an armed helicopter battalion respectively. For the field combined brigade, 2 to 3 construction demonstration units will be selected.

Even with this configuration, plus the tank update, the funds required would exceed 10 billion, which is a huge headache for Staff Officer Ye.

They even had to temporarily borrow from the Dawn Group through research and trial production. Fortunately, after so many years of interaction, Staff Officer Ye knew that Ren Zhong had no interest in money and was wholeheartedly devoted to the great cause of national rejuvenation.
