Chapter 736 The Tomb of the Ghost King
The area surrounding the underground palace was a flat, wide expanse, devoid of any trees, flowers, or grass; even the soil was dry and hard.
It seems this place is an extremely cold region, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on cultivators.
Jiang Hua followed Qin Feng, and he was also a little confused as to why Qin Feng wanted to send him out of the underground palace. Wasn't he afraid that he would escape on the way?
"I'm not worried about you running away," Qin Feng said calmly, seeing through Jiang Hua's thoughts. "I'm just worried about you encountering danger, and I also hope I can help you."
"Uh." Hearing Qin Feng's explanation, Jiang Hua felt slightly embarrassed. He really hadn't thought that Qin Feng was worried about this reason.
"Let's go out first, check out the situation there, and then make a decision." Qin Feng turned and walked forward.
Jiang Hua quickly followed. The two walked for about ten miles when Qin Feng, who was ahead, suddenly stopped. He looked into the distance, his eyes narrowed slightly, and a serious expression appeared on his face.
"What happened up ahead?" Jiang Hua asked him, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
At this moment, the two were standing on a desolate plain. Apart from stone tablets and a few rotten branches next to them, there was nothing else on the plain.
There wasn't a single wild grass, not even a single weed; it seemed this place had been abandoned.
"I don't know what happened either, but I just sensed a dangerous aura." Qin Feng shook his head with a slight frown.
"Oh? You feel that way too?" Jiang Hua looked around.
"Yes, very strong." Qin Feng nodded.
Jiang Hua listened to Qin Feng's words but didn't say anything. Regardless of what had happened, there was no immediate danger, so he wasn't in a hurry.
Qin Feng was just an ordinary person. Although he was not weak, he could only be considered to be above average. He was far inferior to Jiang Hua, and he had this feeling.
Then Qin Feng must have sensed it too, and he wasn't lying to him, which means that the dangerous aura really existed.
“Let’s keep going!” Jiang Hua looked around, then took Qin Feng’s hand and walked forward.
As they walked, they surveyed the surrounding area, but they moved very slowly. The place was so peaceful that they couldn't find a single living creature, not even an insect.
"Have you noticed anything?" Jiang Hua asked Qin Feng, finding everything too calm.
"Yes." Qin Feng nodded, then took out his previous jade pendant and handed it to Jiang Hua, saying, "Take a look at this jade pendant. Is there anything unusual about it compared to the previous one?"
"Huh? Why has this jade pendant turned gray?" Jiang Hua took the jade pendant and examined it carefully before exclaiming in surprise.
His action startled Qin Feng, who then widened his eyes in surprise. "What's going on? Could it be that the gray jade pendant from before wasn't an ordinary jade pendant, but a treasure?"
“That’s right, that should be it. Otherwise, I can’t understand why this would happen. But this jade pendant of yours shouldn’t be an ordinary item, right? How did it become like this?” Jiang Hua looked at the jade pendant.
"I don't know, it must be because of me!" Qin Feng shook his head and said.
"What's the reason for this?" Jiang Hua looked at him in confusion, then took the jade pendant in his hand, examined it carefully, and finally frowned.
"Does this jade pendant have a strange fluctuation?" Jiang Hua suddenly looked up at Qin Feng.
"Yes, I didn't notice it before, but I suddenly had a strange feeling, so I took it out. What's so strange about this jade pendant?" Qin Feng looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Don't ask yet, let me study it and then I'll tell you." Jiang Hua shook his head. He had never handled this jade pendant before, so he didn't know anything about it and could only explore it slowly.
If it were an ordinary jade pendant, it would definitely have some reaction, but the jade pendant he received had no reaction at all, and he didn't even know what it was.
"Okay, that works too." Qin Feng nodded. He wasn't in a hurry. He knew Jiang Hua's personality; if he wanted to talk, he would, so there was no need to ask any more questions.
The two continued walking forward. As they went, Jiang Hua carefully examined the jade pendant, sensing that it was quite special. "Huh? This place is actually..." After walking for about half an hour, Jiang Hua suddenly looked ahead and exclaimed in surprise.
"What did you find?" Qin Feng immediately turned to look at Jiang Hua upon hearing this and couldn't help but ask.
“Hmm, look, this looks like a tomb,” Jiang Hua said, pointing ahead.
"A tomb? How is that possible? I didn't see any tombs here before!" Qin Feng was stunned.
“That’s right, that’s how I feel. Didn’t you see this place?” Jiang Hua asked Qin Feng.
"No, I was right next to you the whole time, how could I have had time to pay attention to my surroundings?" Qin Feng shrugged helplessly.
"Alright!" Hearing Qin Feng's words, Jiang Hua was immediately discouraged. It seemed that he would have to explore all of this on his own if it really was a tomb.
It must be an ancient burial complex, and these ancient buildings must each have their own unique atmosphere.
Thinking of this, Jiang Hua stopped hesitating and quickened his pace, walking forward. Qin Feng followed behind him without hesitation.
"Look, there seems to be some light over there?" Jiang Hua said, pointing ahead.
"Light? Are you sure?" Qin Feng looked in the direction Jiang Hua was pointing and indeed found that something seemed wrong ahead, because the light there seemed to be coming from a distance.
“It should be. The light here seems to be coming from over there. I guess the direction we’re heading is probably that way. Look.” Jiang Hua pointed ahead.
"Then let's go take a look quickly." Qin Feng became interested after hearing Jiang Hua's analysis and hurriedly ran forward.
The two quickly arrived at the stone tablet and examined the inscription. They found that it read, "Southern Ghost Realm, Ghost King's Tomb Complex, Do Not Enter Lightly."
Upon seeing this, Jiang Hua and Qin Feng exchanged a glance.
"Ghost King? That name sounds pretty imposing. What exactly is this Ghost King's Tomb?" Qin Feng asked Jiang Hua, puzzled.
"I don't know," Jiang Hua shook her head.
"Then what do we do?" Qin Feng asked, somewhat frustrated by Jiang Hua's reaction.
"Let's go. It seems we shouldn't go there for now. If we go now, we'll probably be discovered before we even get there."
Jiang Hua gazed into the distance and said slowly, expressing his lack of confidence. "Alright then." Qin Feng nodded without speaking, agreeing with Jiang Hua's assessment; he also felt it wasn't suitable for him to go.
After all, his own strength was too low, and he wasn't confident that he would be safe from any trouble.
And so, the two returned to their starting point and walked back to where they had come from. After walking for a few minutes, they finally saw a huge stone tablet.
"Is this the legendary Ghost King's Tomb?" Jiang Hua's eyes lit up when he saw the stone tablet. It seemed that they had indeed arrived at the place marked on the map.
"The inscription on this stone tablet reads 'The Tomb of the Ghost King.' Look over there." At this moment, Qin Feng also saw another huge stone tablet in the distance.
The inscription above is more intricate than the inscription on the stone tablet that Jiang Hua pointed out, but it is also more detailed, making it easy for anyone to understand what the script is.
The inscription on the stone tablet was almost identical to the inscription on the jade pendant in Jiang Hua's hand. The only difference was that the inscription on the stone tablet was rather obscure and difficult to understand, which Jiang Hua found somewhat challenging.
"Let's go take a look." Jiang Hua reached out and put the jade pendant away, then walked towards the stone tablet. Qin Feng followed closely behind. (End of Chapter)
