Chapter 9 Dream Consultation Room

Qin Su woke up in the evening.

The original owner's mother naturally didn't cook for her; she ate bread and drinks as a friendly gift from the system.

Yes, eating these things in ancient times had a unique flavor.

"It would be even better if I could have another cup of coffee," she said casually.

The system pretends to be dead.

However, it soon ran out of food after the girl finished eating and wiped her mouth.

Because she said—

"Alright, we can prepare for the dream therapy now."

System: "What are you preparing?"

No, it's actually linked to a top-tier platform like "ScrollKing"?
Chu Jiang noticed something was wrong as soon as he entered; this place was too unfamiliar and strange—

The room was spacious and bright, unlike anything he had ever seen before, with soft and comfortable lighting, yet it contained none of the elements he was familiar with.

Several paintings he had never seen before hung on the wall, with vibrant colors and abstract, flowing lines.

The transparent round table in the center of the room is particularly special, with a surface that ripples slightly like water, and light and shadow dance around it, creating a dreamlike scene.

All of this made him wonder if he had fallen into some bizarre and absurd dream again.

Then a cool, languid female voice rang out in front of her: "Welcome to the Mind Counseling Room. After a rigorous selection process, you have been chosen and bound to the 'Great Physician System,' becoming the 999th lucky guest and receiving the opportunity for free psychological treatment."

Even more shocked than Chu Jiang was the system: [Was I plagiarized?]

Upon hearing the sound, Chu Jiang's entire body tensed up and went on alert.

Even in his dreams, he couldn't shake his innate suspicion and wariness. He slowly looked up and saw that behind the round table, the high-backed chair that had been facing away from him had somehow turned around and was now occupied by a young woman dressed in strange white clothes, with an elegant and leisurely demeanor.

The white dress was completely different from the gorgeous clothes he was familiar with, yet it gave her a unique elegance and competence.

What shocked him even more was the woman's appearance: "Qin Sangsang?"

A flicker of surprise seemed to cross the woman's eyes, before she gave him a polite but distant smile.

"My surname is Su, you can call me Dr. Su. You can think of a doctor as a physician in your world. I'm here to help you heal your mental illness."

"Your world"?
Chu Jiang keenly caught the key words, but remained silent, his handsome face cold and expressionless.

Qin Su was not in a hurry. Her clear, spring-like voice calmly introduced her identity and the purpose of her visit:
"I am a psychotherapist who primarily serves patients with serious mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and personality disorders."

Your condition is quite unusual; you have a rare case of dissociative identity disorder.

"In your ancient terms, dual personality is like two souls in one body. You think it's like demons or monsters taking over your body. But from a modern medical perspective, it's all you, just with different personalities split off. If the split personalities are aware of each other's existence, it's called 'coexisting consciousness'."

The last sentence is Qin Su using the explanation of her illness to the tyrant as a way to test whether his two personalities knew about each other and had communicated.

Unfortunately, Chu Jiang reacted coldly and ignored her completely.

She wasn't in a hurry. With a slight smile, she said the last and most important sentence: "You're not some kind of demon or monster. You're just sick."

A single, gentle sentence struck Chu Jiang's heart like a heavy hammer.

This was the first time someone had told him that he wasn't a demon or monster, that he was just sick.

The man's trembling was only momentary, quickly swallowed up by his dark, cold eyes.

"The last person who said I was ill is now buried with grass taller than you."

As expected of the mad tyrant who has caused so many conquerors to fail, his very first words were so provocative that one wanted to poison him into silence. Qin Su remained gentle, seemingly unconcerned by his words: "It's naturally difficult to gain your trust on our first meeting. But time will tell. I will use my expertise to help you overcome your difficulties. Here, you can completely and absolutely trust me."

Unsurprisingly, Chu Jiang mercilessly mocked this common opening line used by psychologists: "Help me? You?"

"I don't need anyone's help. You should think about how to help yourself!"

As he spoke, his eyes changed, and his murderous aura surged. He actually tried to kill Qin Su: "You ignorant fool, you wicked devil who spreads heresy!"

And then... it failed without any suspense.

He couldn't even touch Qin Su.

The system proudly declared: "Host, rest assured, in this dream world you are the king! The tyrant will never be able to touch you!"

"What kind of monster are you?!"

After realizing he couldn't get close to Qin Su no matter what he did, Chu Jiang finally stopped his attack, but his eyes seemed to be filled with poison when he looked at her, as if he were looking at some heretic.

Qin Su knew that her actions were very bold—she was pulling the tyrant into her dream therapy room and treating him using conventional psychotherapy methods.

But since she had already done it, she didn't regret it.

"I'm a psychotherapist, here to heal you. It was just a dream, why don't you try to believe me?"

She raised her hand: "Please sit down."

Chu Jiang remained standing there in the same posture, without moving.

Qin Su: "Hmm, perhaps you're not used to this environment? We can change it up."

As she spoke, she raised her hand and lightly swiped through the air as if swiping a screen, and the surrounding environment instantly changed:
Everywhere you look, the unfamiliar modern scene has been replaced by exquisite wooden furniture familiar to Chu Jiang, carved with auspicious patterns popular in Da Qi. The artwork hanging on the walls has also been replaced with ancient calligraphy and paintings.

The transparent round table that had just amazed him had been transformed into a large mahogany table, covered with fine Xuan paper, with writing brush, ink, paper, and inkstone all laid out beside it.

Even the women's white coats were replaced with plain-colored ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress), their flowing robes making them look like immortals.

Looking at it this way, she looks even more like Qin Sangsang.

"Change it back!"

Chu Jiang spoke with a gloomy face, seemingly disgusted by her appearance.

Qin Su clicked her tongue inwardly, then changed the room back to resemble a modern psychological counseling room.

But the tyrant was still not satisfied. His dark, deep eyes stared fiercely at Qin Su, as if he wanted to tear her to pieces: "You've changed her face too!"

Qin Su: ? ? ?
She's not a Transformer, how can you change her face?
"My face won't do," Qin Su refused.

As expected, the tyrant immediately frowned and asked menacingly, "Why not?"

Qin Su lied without batting an eye: "Because my face is a mimicry of your subconscious created by the system. Simply put, whatever you like, that's what I'll look like."

System: 6!

After a long pause, Chu Jiang scoffed, his tone full of disdain and mockery, as if laughing at how foolish and shameless Qin Su had said.

Will Qin Su feel awkward?

Of course not, not only that, her smile became even more beautiful.

What a joke! When it comes to looks, she's never lost!
If someone doesn't like it, it must be because they're blind!
