Chapter 7 We're Getting a Divorce
Song Jin'an pursed her lips and remained silent, but her hands unconsciously touched her stomach. She knew that birth control pills contained a large amount of hormones, and a wealthy family like the Gu family would naturally select the best of the best for their offspring, so this child…

He wouldn't be welcomed by them, and certainly not by his father.

Gu Xijue continued, "I will have the doctor arrange an abortion as soon as possible."

After saying that, he turned and left. At that moment, Song Jin'an called out to Gu Xijue, making that same unpleasant, screeching sound once again.

Seeing that the man who was about to leave showed no sign of stopping, Lin Ma called out on behalf of the mute woman, "Sir, Madam has something to say."

Gu Xijue paused, then turned around with a sullen face and furrowed brows. He wanted to see what she was going to say with that broken, voiceless voice.

Song Jin'an gestured to Lin Ma with her hands. They had spent a lot of time together, so Lin Ma could understand most of the sign language. But Gu Xijue never listened to her gestures. She had only one function: a tool for men to release their desires. She had no feelings whatsoever.

Lin's mother quickly found paper and a pen and handed them to Song Jin'an. She watched as Song Jin'an struggled to write a line of words, her writing crooked and messy.

I didn't push Su Ruoya.

Then he wrote another line, as if he had made up his mind. The words he wrote were just like himself, not only ugly but also stumbling and falling all the way.

Gu Xijue, let's get a divorce.

She held the paper up like that, her gaze fixed firmly on him.

Gu Xijue hadn't expected the woman in front of him to take the initiative to propose a divorce. His brows furrowed tightly as he stared at her for a long while.

Song Jin'an knew what he was thinking. Divorce is something that can't be reversed; this was probably a case of a man's pride getting in the way.

It could only be him rejecting her, not her rejecting him. Gu Xijue's dark eyes were like an ice cellar, his brows filled with coldness: "Fine."

"But get rid of the baby in your belly."

Song Jin'an nodded, but her hands clenched even tighter.

After leaving the ward, Gu Xiqi felt inexplicably irritable. He was about to enter Su Ruoya's ward, but due to his restlessness, he went into the smoking room instead.

As soon as he walked in, he took out a cigarette case from his pocket, lit a cigarette, and exhaled smoke.

Their marriage was orchestrated and forced upon them by the Song family from the very beginning. He never intended to marry her, yet he did.

Originally, he thought that Song Jin'an would never bring up divorce, after all, it was already a blessing from heaven that she could marry into the Gu family. Now, however, she was telling him that she wanted a divorce in such crooked and messy handwriting that it was worse than that of an elementary school student.

Gu Xijue held the cigarette between his long, slender fingers, but eventually found it rather tasteless. As the cigarette went out, he scoffed inwardly, "Oh well, he's just a mute."

During the next few days of her hospitalization, Song Jin'an's condition remained far from optimistic. Gu Xijue took care of Su Ruoya upstairs but never came to visit again.

The elders of the Gu family have already spoken to the hospital director, urging them to do everything possible to save the child. Although Gu Xijue has clearly stated that the child should be aborted, no one in the hospital dares to perform an abortion on Song Jin'an; everyone is doing their utmost to save the child.

Inside the ultrasound room.

The female doctor said softly, "Young Madam, the gestational sac has successfully implanted in the uterus."
