Show the sword, start from the guerrillas

Chapter 788 Chapter 787, Inventory 1 Detachment

According to the latest statistics, the Beishan Detachment's three battalions plus the main regiment, the security regiment, the detachment's directly affiliated units, and the factory's escort team have a total strength of 6985 people.

These troops were accumulated through repeated conscriptions, some were instructors assigned by superiors, and some were soldiers promoted directly from the militia. Although the detachment had been deliberately controlling the growth of troops and did not advocate increasing the number of troops, each brigade had the right to recruit soldiers on its own, so occasionally some militiamen would be recruited to join the team.

After this reinforcement, the Beishan Detachment has basically reached its demand. The Guard Regiment has even set up a new reinforcement team to recruit new recruits with poor training results for further training. This reinforcement team of more than 200 people will be one of the sources of reinforcement for the entire detachment.

In other words, if the Beishan Detachment no longer adds new combat units and no casualties occur, then the new recruits of these replenishment teams will always exist as replenishment soldiers.

Let’s talk about the equipment of the Beishan Detachment. It has now been stabilized and the basic equipment of each battalion, company, platoon and squad has been finally determined.

首先是炮火上,北山支队拥有27门120mm重型迫击炮,24门82mm迫击炮,108门60mm迫击炮。

To be more specific, each squad has a 50mm grenade launcher, each platoon has a shotgun and two rocket launcher combat groups, and each infantry company has four 4 mortar combat squads.

Does it feel a bit top-heavy? The heavy mortar has 82 more guns than the 3 mortar? In fact, if you look at the Japanese artillery equipment, you can understand the artillery content of the Beishan Detachment!

The Japanese's permanent division has an artillery regiment equipped with 36 75mm field guns and 12 105mm howitzers. There are four infantry regiments under the division, and each regiment has only 4 Type 6 mountain guns, 108 Type infantry guns, and grenade launchers. Therefore, the Japanese division's combat effectiveness is very strong, and the combat effectiveness of the regiment is also very strong with the assistance of the division's artillery.

This strength lies in the number of artillery pieces they possess! Of course, the combat effectiveness of the Japanese infantry is not bad either, at least they dare to fight, can fight, and dare to fight to the death. Their marksmanship is not bad either, but their equipment? ? Of course, their equipment cannot compare to that of the current Beishan Detachment!
The Beishan Detachment has fully equipped its firearms with semi-automatic weapons. Even the newly enlisted soldiers carry semi-automatic weapons, which is very impressive.

Specifically, an ordinary combat squad consists of 12 people, including one light machine gun combat group, one grenade launcher combat group, and two assault groups.

The machine gun group has one light machine gun, and the assistant gunner carries spare ammunition (a total of 1 rounds of machine gun ammunition). The main and assistant gunners each have a box gun as a close combat weapon. The person in the same group is usually the squad leader (a precision shooter, equipped with a precision shooter rifle and 360 rounds of spare ammunition);

The grenade launcher group is equipped with a grenade launcher. The main shooter carries 1 high-explosive grenades. The deputy shooter is equipped with a submachine gun and helps carry 16 grenades. Another soldier in the same group is a precision shooter (with 16 rounds of ammunition), who is responsible for protecting the safety of the main shooter, assisting the squad leader in sniping important targets of the enemy and helping to carry 120 grenades. Two assault groups, the assault team leader is equipped with an assault rifle, a total of 4 for the two groups (each with 2 rounds of ammunition), the No. 120 assault soldier is equipped with a submachine gun, a total of 2 (each with 2 rounds of ammunition), and the No. 175 grenadier is equipped with a semi-automatic, a total of 3 (with 2 rounds of ammunition), and a shotgun will be added when necessary.

Each soldier in the infantry squad is entitled to 4 grenades, but the main and deputy gunners of the machine gun group and the grenade launcher group rarely carry them, only the squad leader of the same group will carry them. For the machine gun group and the grenade launcher group, it is not very meaningful to carry a few more grenades. It is better to carry a few hundred more bullets and a few grenade launchers! It is worth mentioning that the assault group has a special grenade thrower, who carries 8 grenades.

To add, this regulation is just a basic requirement. Just like bullets, as long as the soldiers have the strength, they can carry more.

The infantry squad is like this, and when it comes to the infantry platoon, there will be an additional Civilian 24 heavy machine gun combat squad, a rocket launcher combat group, a sniper group, an ammunition group, and a shotgun group.

As for the rocket launcher, after it was invented, it was basically not used on the battlefield. After all, the Japanese didn't have many tanks. But since we have this weapon, we still have to equip it. After all, what if? It's different if you can take it out and use it when you need it, and if you find out you didn't bring it with you when you need it!

As for the close combat weapon shotgun, due to its super close combat capability and relatively heavy weight, the reconnaissance company assault company special forces will not equip it. But in the main infantry company, it is necessary for a platoon to carry three more shotguns! One soldier carries the gun body, one soldier carries the bracket, and one soldier carries the shield. Each of them carries some fixed shotgun shells to cause close combat damage.

At the company level, an artillery platoon will be added to the infantry platoon, equipped with four 4mm mortars, a transport squad to help carry bullets and shells. There will also be an engineering squad responsible for laying mines, clearing mines, constructing directional blasting and killing the enemy with directional mines. In addition, there will be a cooking squad, a communications squad, a health squad, and a guard squad.

So, platoon leaders always feel that they don't have enough manpower. The problem is that there are too many intelligent units, so more manpower is needed! Apart from other things, can you believe that the soldiers in the kitchen squad also work as barbers? Comrades in the engineering squad also serve as transport teams during marches, helping comrades in the transport squad to drive livestock, or work as truck drivers.

In short, in the Beishan Detachment, at the company level, they can be pulled out to fight alone without worrying about the lack of various functional departments! A company is a combat union with complete functions and strong combat effectiveness, specifically targeting the devil's infantry squadron!

From the company level up, there is no infantry battalion, it is directly an infantry battalion or main regiment. At the regimental level, in addition to adding a reconnaissance company and an artillery company, there will also be an additional transport team (usually 50 to 80 people, which is also the place with the most recruits, and is considered a supplementary team for the battalion) to help carry ammunition. In short, the Beishan Detachment does not have much else, but it has enough ammunition, which is what many commanders dream of!
Unfortunately, the Beishan Detachment was the only one of its kind in the entire Eighth Route Army. Even the Independent Regiment, the New 1st Regiment, and the New 2nd Regiment next door were much less well-equipped than the Beishan Detachment.

Of course, having good equipment does not mean strong combat effectiveness. This requires intensive training to allow the soldiers to adapt to the addition of the new 60 mortars, and to allow the new recruits to gradually adapt to the combat life of the company. In each company of the detachment, the comrades have already mastered a set of methods for training new recruits... (End of this chapter)
