In the memory field, it is not only the most advanced DDR4 desktop/server memory and mobile LPDDR3 memory that have a market. In fact, the current mainstream market is still ordinary DDR3 memory and mobile LPDDR2 memory.

Even lower-end, older-style memory has a sizable market.

Taking the field of mobile phone memory as an example, the mobile phones that are currently eligible to use LPDDR3 memory are all high-end flagship phones of various brands. Even in Zhiyun Group, only the new S series and A series are prepared to adopt this specification of memory, while the C series will continue to use LPDDR2 memory.

The situation is similar for other mobile phone manufacturers.

This also means that Zhiyun Microelectronics' Jiangcheng production base mainly undertakes OEM for internal orders of the group and rarely receives external memory OEM orders.

The situation is similar in the flash memory field. There are basically no external foundry orders... because there are few mainstream flash memory players in the market, and even fewer playing 3D NAND.

Unlike logic chips, auxiliary/functional chips have a large number of external foundry orders.

However, even so, the annual shipment volume of the Jiangcheng production base is actually very large, basically accounting for about 20% of the global memory production and about 15% of the global flash memory production.

The memory and flash memory produced by the Jiangcheng production base are even about to monopolize the domestic mobile phone market and are rapidly swallowing up the domestic PC market.

The locals in Jiangcheng claim that they are the storage capital, and there is absolutely no problem with that.

If any problems arise at the Zhiyun Microelectronics production base in Jiangcheng, it will really affect the supply of memory and flash memory across the country and even the world.

The reason why Jiangcheng's memory and flash memory shipments are so huge is undoubtedly due to the strong pull of Zhiyun Group and Weiku Electronics' huge smart terminals.

There are hundreds of millions of smart terminal devices every year, including various mobile phones, tablets, PCs and various smart terminal products. The combined demand for memory and flash memory is extremely huge.

The demands of these two super-large enterprises under Xu Shenxue alone are enough to make Zhiyun Semiconductor one of the top three chip design companies in the world, and Zhiyun Microelectronics one of the top five chip manufacturing companies in the world.

Not to mention, a large number of domestic mobile phone manufacturers and PC manufacturers will basically use Zhiyun Semiconductor's chip products if they can due to factors such as price and tariffs... There is no special reason, it's just because of the price.

Therefore, even last year, Zhiyun's S12 mobile phone only had a capacity of 64GB.

The S13 mobile phone, as a smart terminal product, has many seemingly insignificant and simple parameter improvements, which often represent the progress of underlying industrial technology, especially semiconductor technology.

The increasing computing power is due to the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.

The memory is getting bigger and bigger, from 512MB to 1GB and even 2GB of running memory. Behind this is the continuous improvement of memory manufacturing process technology, from nanometers to nanometers, and then to the current nanometers.

The same is true for flash memory, which has increased from 64GB to 128GB. This is due to the further breakthrough of Zhiyun Microelectronics' 3D NAND process.

Finally, many technological breakthroughs were summarized in the S13 mobile phone, which gave the S13 a comprehensive performance improvement compared to the previous generation S12 mobile phone.

We are currently in the process of system integration and detail processing. My technical team has promised me that the first prototype will be available for testing by the middle of next year!"

"The development of the supporting etching machines, ion implanters and many other core equipment has been slow or fast, but we can probably complete the technical accumulation and gradual improvement within two to three years. Optimistically speaking, in about 15 years, we will be able to initially establish a 16-nanometer production line with the support of some imported equipment and consumables, and it is estimated that we will be able to achieve independent control in about years!"

"And by continuing to extend this set of equipment, we will be able to meet the needs of more advanced 28-nanometer processes, 22-nanometer processes, and even 14-nanometer processes!"

"After all, processes below 28 nanometers are basically equivalent processes. Although the requirements for equipment are higher, there is not much difference in essence."

"The 3-nanometer D transistor process research currently being carried out in my chip factory is also based on the existing equipment production line!"

"As for the more advanced EUV lithography machines, that is, the production line research below 14 nanometers, we are still in the technical demonstration stage. We have achieved some technical results on the core light source problem and obtained some technical information from the outside world. However, it is very difficult to replicate it in China. In this regard, we still need more support, especially in the field of basic materials and precision equipment!"

The reason why the EUV lithography machine project abroad was delayed is naturally because of the obstruction of Zhiyun Group.

Until now, Zhiyun Group has not given up the plan to obtain the EUV lithography machine... Xu Shenxue doesn't care about any sanctions or agreements, he only knows... other companies can use this EUV lithography machine, but I can't?

No EUV lithography machine? Then the project will be delayed! No one will use it.

Therefore, the core laboratories of ASML, the supplier of their light source systems, had been bombed before, and most of the test data and engineers were destroyed.

Who made ASML favor Samsung and TSMC... As a result, Intel can't get the latest EUV lithography machine. This is unacceptable, so several chip manufacturers thought about it and directly cut off ASML's light source.

Later, ASML obeyed obediently and was forced to accept investment from Intel and other manufacturers.

However, Zhiyun Group’s request for a stake was rejected…and then another fire broke out at a factory of an ASML parts supplier in Eastern Europe.

But there is nothing we can do when we are caught in the middle. We can only wait for these multinational giants to reach an agreement on the matter. They don’t have the decision-making power anyway, otherwise we may easily encounter various accidents.

The business competition between multinational giants is not as simple as quarreling and cursing... Especially for multinational giants like Zhiyun who don’t follow the rules, rely on unspoken rules, and are rich nouveau riche.

It's fine if you compete fairly with him, but if you lose it's just because you are not as skilled as him, Zhiyun has to admit defeat.

But if you play something outside the rules with Zhiyun, they really dare to burn down your factory, blow up your laboratory, and launch rockets at your villa!
Therefore, many super-rich people and heads of large enterprises actually have quite some opinions about the work attitude of Zhiyun and his group.

It's the 21st century already, and you're still playing those 19th century tricks!
