Rebirth 08: Rise from copycat phones
Chapter 316 The World's Largest Mobile Phone SOC Manufacturer
Chapter 316 The World's Largest Mobile Phone SOC Manufacturer
May 28, Europe.
Another piece of news about Zhiyun Group has attracted a lot of attention, not only from China but also from abroad.
An EU agency sued Zhiyun Group for tax evasion. After years of investigation and bargaining, the two parties officially held their first hearing in court.
Zhiyun Group's large legal team represented Zhiyun Group in responding to the lawsuit.
At the same time, Ireland also sent its own elite forces to try its best to provide various strong evidence to Zhiyun Group.
The two parties worked together to try to prove that the tax behavior of Zhiyun Group's European subsidiary in Ireland was legal and compliant, and that there was no tax evasion or tax avoidance problem.
On the other side, the EU's prosecution team is trying to prove that Zhiyun Group took advantage of Ireland's low tax policy to evade a large amount of taxes from EU countries.
They also tried to prove that Ireland's low tax policy was illegal and undermined trade fairness in the EU.
This court session attracted the attention of major global companies, especially high-tech multinational corporations... because ninety-nine out of one hundred high-tech companies will set up their headquarters or important subsidiaries in the EU in Ireland.
To take advantage of Ireland's low tax policy to avoid the EU's overall high taxes.
A typical tax avoidance method used by multinational corporations.
Zhiyun is not the only company being investigated for tax evasion. Fruit, Sixin and a host of other high-tech companies are also being investigated for tax evasion by the EU, and many of the companies being prosecuted have even larger amounts.
For example, Fruit was accused of tax evasion more than Zhiyun. If they lose the case, they may face fines of up to tens of billions of euros.
Zhiyun Group is the first high-tech multinational company to be sued. Based on the huge influence of Zhiyun Group, this means that if Zhiyun Group loses the case, a large number of multinational companies behind it will also face the same crisis of losing the case.
The trial of Zhiyun Group after being sued this time went on... To be honest, Cook was more worried about Zhiyun losing the case than Xu Shenxue!
Therefore, this case has received great attention from major multinational companies around the world, and many companies have openly or secretly provided assistance to Zhiyun Group!
No one wants the EU to take the lead!
In the face of this tax turmoil, the world's major multinational giants outside of Europe, especially those in the high-tech industry that are very keen on playing this tax avoidance policy and are also very profitable, have formed an unprecedented united front.
Regarding this case, Xu Shenxue had many friendly communications with several American financial groups, and finally the two sides reached a rare consensus: this trend must not be allowed to continue!
Of course, the EU is no pushover either. Plus, the matter has been exposed from the very beginning, making many of the tactics used by Zhiyun Group and the American consortium less effective!
Using shady tactics in a case that has received such high attention and is open to the public can easily lead to backlash.
So even though they had a lot of rocket launchers in their hands, the consortiums still chose to solve the problem within the rules.
So, people saw almost the most magnificent legal team in history, a team composed of the top three law firms in the world, representing Zhiyun Group in the lawsuit.
Because the case was too important and extremely sensitive, in order to prevent the consortium from making any small moves, EU officials were very cautious and actually held an open trial.
This court session lasted for more than six hours, from morning to afternoon, exhausting the lawyers on both sides, the judges involved, and even the reporters.
Of course, this kind of case cannot be tried in one trial.
The legal teams on both sides are top-notch, and the various documents and materials submitted are also massive. It is impossible for such a confrontation to produce results in a short period of time.
Therefore, after the first hearing, the judge ruled that the second hearing will be held in February next year.
This result is relatively favorable for Zhiyun Group.
Because Zhiyun Group’s strategy is to delay as much time as possible... to gain enough time, divide the interests of all parties, and finally strive for an out-of-court settlement.
As for winning the case... that's unlikely.
After all, this is an official EU move, and behind it are the wills of other EU countries, especially several major EU countries... People don't want to continue to see a large number of multinational companies using Ireland as a bridgehead to avoid taxes.
However, due to the huge influence and strength of multinational corporations, they cannot directly intervene administratively and can only prosecute within the rules...If it were an ordinary company, they would have directly fined it and there would be no need for such a large-scale prosecution.
The targets of the fines are really too special, they are all world-class companies such as Zhiyun Group, Fruit, Sixin, Microsoft, Google, etc.
Do you think they want to punish Zhiyun?
No, they are going to punish a group of world-class companies, and Zhiyun is just the first one!
To this end, the evidence collected by the other party is very sufficient...If there is not enough evidence, it is impossible for them to directly carry out public prosecution and public trial process.
They have the confidence to do so.
This means that if Zhiyun Group wants to win through a head-on confrontation, its chances of winning are too low.
The unanimous opinion of the lawyers is that if the lawsuit continues in this way, it will be lost sooner or later.
Therefore, the best strategy is to delay time as much as possible, create various obstacles, and then negotiate with the representatives of the interests of all parties in the EU in a targeted manner, and then strive for an out-of-court settlement acceptable to both parties.
There will definitely be a fine, the key is how much!
The end of the first court session did not mean peace, but continued confrontation, but this kind of confrontation was not something ordinary people could understand.
On the third day after the trial, a local European broker visited the special prosecutor in the EU prosecution team and conducted a new round of negotiations on behalf of Zhiyun Group.
But the negotiations were fruitless!
The other party is very confident and has a lot of evidence in hand. They are very sure to win the case, and then have the most glorious moment of their life, accumulating the best qualifications for their future entry into politics.
However, this is just the beginning. The special prosecutor will meet many brokers later, and the companies behind these brokers are not Zhiyun, but from other world-class companies.
At the same time, Zhiyun Group’s European public relations staff also continue to exchange views with important figures in several EU countries!
In this regard, Zhiyun Group actually has some advantages. After all, Zhiyun Group has made considerable investments in Europe and has a large number of employees.
Zhiyun Group's Paris R&D center is the largest high-tech R&D center in France and has a great influence.
Zhiyun Group's semiconductor base in Germany is also the largest storage chip manufacturing base in Europe. In addition to some backward factories, it is also preparing to build a new advanced 12-inch wafer factory.
These investments and these jobs are the bargaining chips between Zhiyun Group and the other party!
However, the EU is not a country, but a combination of economic and trade interests of European countries. The interests of various parties are not consistent, so even if Zhiyun Group obtains partial support, it will still be difficult to win the case. Therefore, striving for a more favorable out-of-court settlement is the main goal.
Zhiyun Group was sued by the European Union for tax evasion and was required to pay back taxes and fines totaling 8.5 billion euros.
After the first court session, the news spread around the world and attracted the attention of many netizens.
Domestic netizens naturally unanimously support Zhiyun Group, believing that this is an evil foreign force suppressing Chinese companies.
Many people abroad are mostly indifferent to the news, while others are gloating over it - after all, Zhiyun is not a company in their country.
On the other hand, many netizens in the EU have relatively divided opinions. Many people who have interests in Zhiyun Group or other multinational companies are firm supporters of Zhiyun.
These people make their livings from multinational corporations, so naturally they don't want to see multinational corporations suffer heavy losses, which would affect their own jobs.
Some people firmly believe that these multinational companies must be severely punished and forced to pay taxes honestly. Not only Zhiyun should be punished, but also Apple, Sixin, Google, Microsoft... All foreign multinational companies must be punished!
Others expressed neutrality. On the one hand, they felt that multinational companies such as Zhiyun and Fruit were too greedy. They made so much money in Europe, but tried every means to avoid taxes, resulting in a large amount of tax loss in EU countries and causing unfair competition.
But on the other hand, it is also believed that we cannot blindly suppress foreign multinational companies. After all, these multinational companies, especially top companies like Zhiyun Group, have brought a large number of jobs to the EU.
Either the suppression is too harsh and foreign multinational companies dare not come, then what will happen to these jobs?
It would be best if both parties could find a solution acceptable to them!
There are various opinions on this case on the Internet.
Xu Shenxue is also quite concerned about this case. After all, this kind of case has great symbolic significance and can even be said to affect Zhiyun Group's layout in Europe.
Can the European market still be retained?
Can I still trust the European consortium and increase my investment in the European market?
Did Zhiyun Group's previous private placement of shares to European consortiums, the expansion of semiconductor investment and R&D centers in some regions, and the hiring of more local European grassroots employees in various regions play a role in distributing benefits?
How big is the effect?
In response to these issues, Xu Shenxue also communicated with several consortiums in Europe.
After some communication, the other party finally promised that the matter would not go to the level of a final trial and would inevitably be settled out of court.
Moreover, the cost of out-of-court settlement will be kept within one billion euros.
The other party stated that although our companies have sufficient control in the EU, it is impossible to influence everyone. Now that things have come to this point, we must give an explanation to the public.
The EU's lawsuit against Zhiyun has caused such a big stir that the public investigation alone has lasted for several years. A large number of political players are waiting for results from this case to gain fame.
Therefore, some amount of fine must be paid to give an explanation to the public!
We can’t set up a stage to perform. The stage has been built, and all kinds of suonas have been played, but there are no actors on stage!
However, the other party also said that the public opinion is too strong now and it is difficult to deal with. After the case is over, they will give Xu Shenxue an explanation!
They also repeatedly emphasized that since they had accepted Zhiyun Group's shares and a large amount of cooperative investment, they would assume corresponding responsibilities.
After listening to the other party's explanation, Xu Shenxue didn't say much!
The two parties are merely exchanging interests, and it is very normal for the other party to make choices based on its own interests.
Similarly, Xu Shenxue will also make choices that are in his own interests based on the other party's actions!
The semiconductor investment in cooperation with the other party has just started, and the factory building has not yet officially started construction.
In addition, cooperation projects can be cancelled at any time, such as patent authorization in the field of electric vehicles, supply of core components such as power batteries and motors, some cooperation on vehicle control systems, etc.
In addition, the two sides are also negotiating the Hungarian electric vehicle factory project, which can also be cancelled at any time.
Zhiyun and HaiLian Automobile, two major consumer goods terminal companies, will continue to be determined to enter Europe, but their partners do not have to be these consortiums.
There are many European consortiums, and many of them want to cooperate with Xu Shenxue!
Xu Shenxue didn't necessarily want to be hanged on these companies.
Judging from the other party’s attitude, it is still acceptable, so Xu Shenxue will not take any action for the time being... Of course, some strategic cooperation will be suspended before the other party shows sincerity.
The other party can’t just take the benefits without doing anything!
In addition, he ordered his subordinates to try to contact other European consortiums to find some backup options.
Xu Shenxue still needs to make multiple preparations for the European market!
After initially dealing with matters in the European market, it was already mid-June.
At this time a few years ago, Zhiyun Group had already held a press conference to launch its flagship phone, setting off a new wave in the smartphone industry.
However, last year, due to the difficulty in producing chips using the 18-nanometer process, the launch conference was postponed to August.
This year's 14nm process chip also officially entered the mass production stage in June, so the flagship phone's launch conference will continue in August.
And future press conferences, unless there are any unexpected postponements, will most likely be held in August.
After all, Zhiyun Group needs to consider market inertia and give consumers a relatively certain release time for new mobile phones. Then consumers will formulate their own purchasing strategies based on the release time of the new mobile phones.
The main reason is that after the new mobile phone is launched, the old models of Zhiyun will have a relatively large price reduction... and no one wants to buy a new mobile phone today without knowing it, and then Zhiyun announces the release of a new mobile phone the next day, and then the old mobile phone is reduced by 400 or 500 yuan...
Therefore, Zhiyun Group will announce the release time of new mobile phones in advance, and will also offer price cuts and promotions for old mobile phones in advance.
Create an artificial sales boom: When a new phone is about to be released, the price of old Zhiyun phones is often the most affordable. When the new phone is actually released, some preferential policies are often cancelled, which eventually leads to a slight increase in the price of old phones.
Avoid the situation where consumers who have purchased old mobile phones become psychologically unbalanced and feel like they are being cheated when new phones are about to be launched.
Anyway, Zhiyun will announce the release time of the new mobile phone several months in advance, and will also reduce the price of the old mobile phones one or two months before the release. At that time, you can choose as a consumer. If you are in a hurry to use it or want to save some money, you can buy the old model now. If you are not in a hurry to replace it or have enough money, you can wait until the new mobile phone is released to make your purchase.
Since June this year, Zhiyun's S series of mobile phones have entered a price reduction mode across the board, while some old and outdated mobile phones have been cleared out and discontinued.
For example, the S12 mobile phone will be completely discontinued to make room for the price-adjusted S13 and S14 mobile phones. However, in order to continue to make profits and maintain supply chain interests, many components of the S12 will continue to be used in the production and sales of the S13X.
Some poorly selling models of the S13 phones, or models that compete with the S14 phones, will be discontinued.
For example, the sales volume of the S13-64GB version is gradually decreasing, which will also affect the sales volume of the S14-64GB version. The average price and profit of the latter are higher than the former, so this version will also be discontinued.
After the production line adjustment, only the S13 128GB version, S13 Pro 64GB and 128GB versions will be retained in major domestic and overseas markets after August this year. These three models have relatively high prices and profits, and can also stabilize the price system. Other S13 models will be discontinued. The 14GB version of the S14 and S16 Pro phones will also be discontinued.
Zhiyun Group does this every year and adjusts the production line before releasing new models.
This is also to maintain the price system... If the old low-end models continue to be produced and sold, the price will be too low, even below the key price of 4,000 yuan.
And Zhiyun Group will never allow this to happen!
Zhiyun never sells S series mobile phones below 4,000 yuan!
This is a matter of principle and will never change!
Of course, this is just on the surface. In fact, Zhiyun Group also has a SX series... This series is mainly priced between three thousand and four thousand, but in the past two years, this SX series has gradually transformed into a small-screen flagship.
When Zhiyun Group was adjusting its core product, the S series of mobile phones, Xu Shenxue also arrived in Tongcheng on a special plane and inspected the Tongcheng Semiconductor Base, mainly to visit Factory No. 18 here.
It is the only wafer foundry in Zhiyun Microelectronics that can mass-produce 14-nanometer process chips!
Ding Chengjun accompanied Xu Shenxue to visit Factory No. 18:
"After the plant was built last year, it cooperated with the process department to repeatedly conduct various tests on the 603-nanometer process. In December last year, it officially passed the technical certification and successfully taped out the S chip."
"In the next six months, our Fab 18 will continue to improve and adjust the 14-nanometer process for mass production to increase the yield rate."
"We successfully completed the preparation for mass production at the end of May, and then officially started the large-scale mass production of the S603 chip in early June."
"Now, except for necessary maintenance time, our 7-nanometer chip production line operates 24 hours a day, days a week."
"After various tests, some unqualified S603 chips will be selected, and some that barely pass but do not meet the performance standards will be locked as S602 chips and subsequently used in A15 phones."
"The entire Fab 603 is in full production and can currently provide a production capacity of approximately 602 million S chips, as well as a small amount of S chips."
After listening to this, Xu Shenxue said: "Although 23 million chips are a little less, it is barely enough in the early stage!"
Ding Chengjun said: "By October, our ninth plant will also be able to enter mass production of the 600-nanometer process. By then, the chip production capacity of the entire S series will be fully met, and some production capacity will be freed up for the production of other chips."
"We are building chip production capacity at the 14-nanometer process faster than the previous 18-nanometer process, so subsequent production capacity will be more abundant."
Xu Shenxue said: "So, when we release new laptops this winter, we can also use 14-nanometer chips in our laptops?"
Ding Chengjun said: "It can be done in terms of production capacity!"
Fu Zhengyang of Zhiyun Semiconductor also said: "This year, our WZ5000 and WZ5000U chips, which use the -nanometer process, have completed the tape-out test. As long as there is no problem with production capacity, we can release a new -nanometer PC chip this winter, which can meet our own needs and also supply to the outside world!"
"We will be the second company in the world to adopt 86-nanometer process chips after Intel's -nanometer chips. In addition to mobile phone SOCs, we will successively release X chips and APO series chips using -nanometer process starting this winter."
"And in terms of overall performance, it will surpass some other TSMC 16nm foundry chips!"
"According to some intelligence data we have collected, our 14-nanometer process has advantages over TSMC's 16-nanometer process in terms of transistor density and other technical parameters, and the advantages are not small."
"This year, in addition to the X86 CPU field, we will completely suppress many competitors in other high-performance chip fields!"
Xu Shenxue said: "Thank you for your hard work!"
"With these advanced chips, we still have the hope of increasing our revenue this year and even next year."
The 14-nanometer process chip is a killer at the moment!
Intel has gained a considerable advantage and brought in more revenue thanks to the 14-nanometer process chip officially released at the beginning of the year.
In the second half of the year, after Zhiyun Group caught up in time, it was also able to use this technology to gain huge competitive advantages, especially in the field of smart terminals.
Among flagship phones this year, Zhiyun S phones will have greater performance advantages than ever before compared to other phones, including Apple phones, further establishing the concept that Zhiyun phones have better performance and are smoother.
Afterwards, Xu Shenxue also saw the mass-produced version of the S603 chip. This chip, which is the size of a fingernail, integrates four billion transistors. Even if you exclude the communication base part of about one billion transistors, the other parts, namely the CPU, GPU, cache, AI core, etc., add up to three billion transistors.
The 603 billion transistors in the S503 are percent higher than the billion transistors in the previous generation S.
This also brings more powerful performance to the new generation of S603 chips, far exceeding the powerful performance of other manufacturers' mobile phone SOCs.
When it comes to chips, more transistors mean stronger performance!
If we can still keep the volume and power consumption at the same level, then it will be even stronger!
This requires more advanced technology.
The current 14-nanometer process is undoubtedly the most advanced process.
Although there are some differences in hardware parameters between Zhiyun Microelectronics' 14nm process and Intel's 14nm process, the gap is not very large as they both belong to the same generation of process technology.
However, it significantly exceeds TSMC's 16-nanometer process.
There is a big gap in transistor density between Zhiyun Microelectronics' 14nm process and TSMC's 16nm process.
This also means that this year's Fruit A9 chip, which uses TSMC's 603nm process, is still unable to catch up with the Zhiyun S chip.
Just like last year, Zhiyun's S503 chip strongly suppressed the Fruit A8 chip!
This leading advantage will continue to be maintained!
As for other competitors, they can’t catch up…
For example, Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip, after the failure of last year's super-hot Snapdragon 810, they also designed and developed the 820-nanometer Snapdragon chip based on TSMC... However, they will still encounter the problem of last year, that is, they cannot grab TSMC's production capacity.
TSMC's 16nm process production capacity is basically monopolized by Apple, its super large customer. Even a strong company like Qualcomm cannot grab it, let alone others.
Qualcomm's 820nm Snapdragon new generation chip will not be available for mass shipment until early next year at the earliest.
In this year's mobile phone SOC field, the Zhiyun S series and Fruit A series chips are still competing against each other.
Other mobile phone SOCs that want to use 14nm or 16nm processes will have to wait until next year.
For example, Zhiyun Semiconductor's W series chips, which are exclusively for export, also use a 906-nanometer process for its new generation flagship W, but it is not expected to start small-scale supply until December of this year, and large-scale supply until early next year.
By then, the W906 series chips will compete head-on with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to vie for the global third-party market, mainly for the big customer Six-Star.
However, by then, both parties may lose Sixing as a major customer... because Sixing's 14-nanometer process is also being actively promoted. According to analysis by Zhiyun Group's intelligence department, Sixing's 14-nanometer process will be able to provide mass production capabilities for their own self-developed chips in the first quarter of next year.
As to whether Four Star will use their self-developed chips at that time, this is still unknown.
After all, the fact that Four Star can provide mass production capabilities of the 14-nanometer process does not mean that they can design excellent chips based on the 14-nanometer process... What's more, Four Star does not have a communication baseband.
Zhiyun Semiconductor and Qualcomm have a serious monopoly on 3G and 4G communication basebands. These two companies are the only ones in the world that can supply full-network communication basebands.
Except for Apple, which relied on the early cooperation agreement to reach an agreement with Qualcomm to obtain the communication baseband at a relatively cheap price, other manufacturers who want to obtain the full network communication baseband must either purchase the SOC of these two companies or purchase the single-hang baseband at a high price.
If the four stars want to use their self-developed chips, they will have to spend extra money to purchase communication basebands, which will lead to a substantial increase in costs... Not only industry insiders, but even ordinary consumers have heard about how shady Zhiyun and Qualcomm are on single-hanging communication basebands.
Therefore, many people also believe that even if Samsung develops its own 14-nanometer process chip next year, it will probably not adopt it due to cost considerations. If it must use it, the cost of a mobile phone will have to add a considerable extra cost.
Therefore, it is still unknown what chip will be used in Samsung's new generation flagship mobile phone, the Galaxy S7 series.
As for Zhiyun Semiconductor, it is trying its best to continue to win orders from its major customer Sixin, and is willing to offer some good conditions, such as first launch rights, priority supply rights, and early chip testing to ensure sufficient mass production of the S7 mobile phone after its release next spring.
Even willing to give strict contractual guarantees on delivery deadlines!
Qualcomm went a step further, saying that although its 820 chip was initially designed based on the 820-nanometer process, it can also use the -nanometer process. At that time, the foundry order for the chip will be handed over to Samsung for the -nanometer process.
In this regard, Four Star is actually very conflicted... There are many difficulties in developing its own chips. Not only is it difficult for the technology to surpass Zhiyun Semiconductor and Qualcomm, but it is also greatly troubled by the communication baseband.
However, even if we purchase third-party chips next year, it will be difficult to decide which one to use.
Zhiyun's W series chips have good performance and their production capacity will be fully guaranteed, which can ensure the smooth launch of their S7 mobile phones.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chip has a performance gap. At the same time, it is difficult for Samsung to guarantee that it will be able to achieve large-scale mass production of the 820nm process in early next year, and thus provide large-scale mass production capabilities for Qualcomm Snapdragon or their own self-developed chips.
As for Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, if it adopts TSMC's 820nm process... Four Star is not stupid and will definitely not agree. If Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is to be used, then this Qualcomm Snapdragon must use their Four Star's nm process.
It's just that advancing the process, especially the yield control for large-scale mass production, is a hard technology. It's not something that can be done on time just by saying a few words about when to do it.
If Samsung's 820nm process mass production plan is delayed for a few months, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 mass production will also be delayed for a few months, and their S phones will miss the best release period.
Once it is released in June, July or even later, it will be strangled by Zhiyun S series phones and Fruit phones.
Sales will explode!
Therefore, Four Star is also very conflicted now... It is reported that Four Star has even launched three S7 mobile phone project teams at the same time... At the same time, they are developing S906 mobile phones based on W820 chip, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 chip, and self-developed chip.
No matter which one is used at that time, the corresponding mobile phone solution can be immediately put into mass production and sales.
In short, for Four Star, everything else is secondary, but next year's flagship phone, their Four Star's signature, will be the new flagship S7 phone from Galaxy, which has finally gained a market share of more than % in the high-end market.
It has to be released on time in March... every month of delay means sales will be reduced by millions or even tens of millions of units.
If the delay exceeds three months, it can basically be declared that the S7 phone is completely finished!
This is a high-end flagship brand that S2X has painstakingly developed for many years, and it carries most of S2X's hopes in the smartphone field.
The Li family father and son would never allow such a thing to happen.
After all, no high-end mobile phone can survive in August and September when the new flagship of Zhiyun S series and the new flagship of Fruit are released one after another.
There hasn't been one in the past few years!
These are the bloody lessons learned by countless mobile phone manufacturers through huge losses and even bankruptcy!
The Li family father and son will never let their Galaxy series become the next!
------
In addition to the orders from Four Star, Zhiyun Semiconductor's W series chips and Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips will also compete for the remaining third-party high-end chip market. In this regard, Zhiyun Semiconductor's W series has a natural advantage!
Because it doesn't have to do anything to get a large number of orders from Weiku Electronics, and it can also get a large number of chip orders from domestic mobile phone manufacturers.
Because there are many mobile phone manufacturers in China, and many of them are large in scale. In addition to Zhiyun Group and Weiku Electronics, there are also second- and third-tier mobile phone manufacturers with good sales such as Huawei, Dami, OP, Coolpad, Zhongxing, and Lianxiang.
These domestic mobile phone manufacturers are the main users of Zhiyun Semiconductor's W series chips. Of course, they will also use Qualcomm chips... After all, they also have to ensure the security of the supply chain and let Zhiyun Semiconductor and Qualcomm compete to lower prices, so they will also adopt the 28 principle and it is impossible to give all orders to Zhiyun Semiconductor.
However, Zhiyun Semiconductor occupies 28 out of the 8 principles, while Qualcomm only occupies 2.
In this regard, Zhiyun Semiconductor has huge advantages.
In terms of sales alone, Zhiyun Semiconductor's W series chips are actually the best-selling mobile phone SOC chips in the world, with shipments exceeding 14 million units in just years.
The Zhiyun S series, Fruit A series, and Qualcomm Snapdragon series all have to admit defeat in terms of sales volume compared to the Zhiyun W series!
It’s just that most of the chips in the W series are relatively cheap mid- and low-end chips. Although the sales volume is huge, the overall revenue is relatively small and the profit is also relatively low.
If we talk about the most profitable mobile phone SOC, it has to be the Zhiyun S series, which has large sales volume and high price.
Zhiyun Semiconductor has two major series of mobile phone SOCs: Zhiyun S series and Zhiyun W series.
It is the world's largest mobile phone SOC manufacturer!
