Chapter 46: Master, do you want to go against fate?
Changan.
Today, the Sanlun School, one of the three major Buddhist sects, is located in an area bordering Fengshui in the east, Taishui in the west, and Guifeng, Guanyin, Zige and Dading peaks in Zhongnan Mountain in the south.
The temple gate faces south, and the temples are built according to Buddhist regulations, including the mountain gate, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the bell tower and drum tower, the stele corridor, the stele pavilion, the Main Hall, the Great Compassion Hall, the Ksitigarbha Hall and the Three Saints Hall, wing rooms, and the Dharma Hall.
The temples are majestic, the bells sound melodiously, and the scenery of the temple blends with the surrounding natural scenery, making people feel relaxed and happy.
The top floor of a bell tower.
But they saw You Niaojuan with his hands and feet locked by fine iron, lying unconscious on the ground. Not far away stood Master Jiaxiang and Shi Qingxuan, as well as a burly man with a golden face, long beard, tiger eyes, thick eyebrows, and a very majestic appearance.
"Since we joined forces, we not only killed Ding Jiuzhong, Zhou Laotan, and Jin Huanzhen, but also captured You Niaojuan."
The mighty man, Yuwen Chengdu of the Yuwen clan, looked at Master Jiaxiang:
"More than half a year has passed. I wonder if the master has figured out the imprisonment that Wu Chang left on You Niao Juan?"
"Alas, these days, I have discovered that You Niaojuan has a strong spiritual power in his body. If this spiritual power is not eliminated, he will never recover."
"And I can't do anything about this spiritual power by myself. Later, I asked my two old friends Di Xin and Dao Xin to come over. Unfortunately, even with the combined strength of the three of us, we still can't get rid of it."
"This is because this spiritual power is not only compatible with You Niaojuan's inner strength and spiritual perception, but is also connected to the essence of heaven and earth, and can endlessly restore itself."
"That's why You Niaojuan and the other three all reached the peak of martial arts, allowing them to run rampant for more than a year, committing many bloody murders."
Upon hearing this, Yuwen Chengdu looked extremely embarrassed. Before he captured and killed You Niaojuan and the other three, these four people not only caused great trouble to the three Buddhist sects, causing the deaths of countless monks, but also caused heavy casualties among his own Yuwen family.
Except for the clan leader Yuwen Shang who was safe and sound, Yuwen Zhiji and Yuwen Shiji successively reunited with their eldest brother Yuwen Wenhuaji in the underworld, and then their father Yuwen Shu also followed in the footsteps of his three sons.
After that, his lineage was protected by the Yuwen clan because his father was Yuwen Shi, the third most important figure in the Yuwen clan. After Yuwen Shu's lineage died out, he naturally became the most important figure under the clan leader.
But even so, facing the despicable assassination attack by a master-level expert, Yuwen Chengdu's only brother Yuwen Wudi still died tragically, and Yuwen Chengdu almost died more than once.
Finally, the Yuwen clan finally humbled themselves and joined forces with the three Buddhist sects who had also suffered an ambush by You Niaojuan and his four companions, to capture and kill them.
During this period, both parties learned the mastermind from Shi Qingxuan, and immediately resolved many of their confusions.
No wonder You Niaojuan and the other three said something incoherently about the three Buddhist sects hiding the relics of the Evil Emperor, and that the world-famous Shi family was hiding in the Yuwen clan. It really made people confused as to whether there was any connection between the two.
However, when they learned that Wuchang had the ability to turn these extremely evil and vicious people into dead soldiers, they couldn't help but feel a little frightened.
Therefore, after capturing You Niaojuan, they wanted to find a way to break the spell from him, but after more than half a year, they still had no idea.
In fact, the method to crack it is very simple. Either kill the person being controlled, or use the same mental power to eliminate the mental power of the controlled person.
Master Jiaxiang knew this clearly, so he specially called people over, but he didn't expect that the three of them together could not do anything about the spiritual power in You Niaojuan.
"Wuchang's martial arts level is far beyond our reach. Fortunately, I heard from Master Shi that he has now been in seclusion to practice the "Dao Xin Zhong Mo Dafa". Now we can only hope that he can be like the evil emperor Xiang Yutian back then."
When Shi Qingxuan heard Master Jiaxiang's words, she maintained a leisurely and calm demeanor.
Before, she had neither mentioned the possibility that Xiang Yutian was alive nor revealed the specific whereabouts of a certain monk, because saying the former would only cause trouble for others, and saying the latter might really make the monk want to kill her. Of course, the most important reason was that if she had not been burdened with so many things, she would only wish to spend the rest of her life in Xiaogu and accompany her mother's grave, so she naturally had no interest in the struggle between good and evil.
"I have also heard of the 'Great Method of Cultivating Demons in the Heart of Taoism'. It is said that this method is the highest method of the demon sect, but it is extremely dangerous. To this day, no one has succeeded in practicing it." Yuwen Chengdu showed a look of satisfaction on his face:
"It has been two years since we last heard of the evil monk Wuchang. It seems that he has gone astray and died. It is truly God's will."
As soon as he finished speaking, his body stiffened and he fell straight to the ground.
"The Yuwen clan is almost extinct, but you are not following them. Aren't you too unfilial?"
"Never mind. I am kind-hearted and just can't bear to see others unable to reunite with their families."
Master Jiaxiang and Shi Qingxuan looked at Yuwen Chengdu who had suddenly died, and heard a vague and illusory voice. They couldn't help but look tense, and immediately saw a figure that seemed real and illusory appear on the stairs.
"Impermanence!"
Shi Qingxuan blurted out when she saw Xi Mingzhang, who was still wearing the snow-white monk's robe but had long hair draped over his shoulders.
"Miss Shi, long time no see." Xi Mingzhang clasped his hands together and said to Master Jiaxiang:
"I am Wuchang, a humble monk. Nice to meet you, Master."
"You are here after all." A complex look appeared in Master Jiaxiang's eyes.
“The Three Treatises School is named the Three Treatises School because it is based on the Madhyamika Sastra, the Twelve Gates Sastra, and the Hundred Treatises.”
"As the Twelve Gates Sutra says, phenomena that arise from many causes are without self-nature. If they are without self-nature, how can such phenomena exist?"
"That is to say, the law of dependent origination has no self-nature, which is the ultimate emptiness. All these conditioned and unconditioned laws are ultimately empty, and are called the ultimate emptiness."
"But in order to follow the common sense of the world, we say that things have dependent origination, thus unifying dependent origination and emptiness of nature. This is the middle way."
Xi Mingzhang looked relaxed:
"In Buddhism, we call all things formed by cause and effect "dependent origination". For example, a mung bean seed needs the help of water, soil, sunlight, and human factors to sprout, bloom, and bear fruit."
“If you leave a mung bean in a granary or on a stone for a long time, it will just be a mung bean.”
"The Middle Way says, 'I say that the dharmas that are born from causes and conditions are empty, and are also false names, and are also the meaning of the middle way. There has never been a dharma that is not born from causes and conditions. Therefore, all dharmas are empty."
"You can understand that the reason why it is called emptiness of nature is because it is based on the law of cause and effect that all dharmas depend on each other, and the Three Treatise School's thought of emptiness of nature is based on the law of cause and effect."
He smiled faintly and said:
"Master, you are a great Buddhist scholar and the founder of the Three Treatise School. I think you know very well that the causes in the past are the results today. It is inevitable that I am here."
"All dharmas are created or destroyed according to the principle of cause and effect. Cause is the ability to create, and effect is what is created. Therefore, the destruction of the four schools of Buddhism is a foregone conclusion."
The smile on Xi Mingzhang's face became more intense:
"Master, do you want to go against fate?"
