Chapter 10 The Mysterious Agent 19
Chapter 10 The Mysterious Agent 19
Late at night, several policemen entered Donald's mansion and were led to the master bedroom by the trembling servants.
Then they saw a room that looked like a fire scene, and a body that was as black as charcoal lying on the ground by the window...
The next day, Harry woke up in his bedroom at the Osborn Family Manor after a long absence.
"Sure enough, the bed at home is still more comfortable to sleep in."
He stretched, changed his clothes and went to the dining room. The servants at home had already prepared breakfast in advance.
Harry ate his breakfast while checking today's morning news.
"…Last night, millionaire and Osborne Group shareholder Donald Menken died in a bizarre explosion. As the scene was completely burned, no traces of the explosion could be found…"
"This pumpkin bomb is quite useful. It can kill people and destroy evidence at the same time." Harry thought with satisfaction when he read the news of Donald's death.
"Now that the news of Donald's death has spread, the board of directors must have known about it. Now is the time to thoroughly reorganize the Osborne Group and expel all the parasites."
Harry picked up his cell phone and called his secretary.
"Poppy, notify all the directors of the group. I have a meeting in an hour."
"Roger that, Mr. Osborne."
At this moment, in an ordinary apartment building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Bobby Dyne replied to Harry in a respectful tone.
After hanging up the phone, her expression suddenly took a 180-degree turn, and a coldness that was completely inconsistent with her appearance appeared on her face.
"I have a feeling that we don't have much time left, Leo. We need to speed up the mission."
Bobby turned around and looked at the other person in the room, a young man with a stubble on his face, sitting in front of a computer and typing away.
"Why? Did anyone see through your disguise? Agent 19?"
Leo asked, frowning.
"Harry has been very wary of me recently. He may have begun to doubt my identity. However, he probably thinks I am a participant in the assassination."
"Besides, I think Harry had something to do with Donald Mencken's death last night."
Poppy rested his hand on his chin in thought.
"The manner of Donald's death and the extent of the destruction at the scene perfectly match the effect of the Green Goblin's pumpkin bomb."
"So you think Harry Osborn somehow learned or inherited Norman's identity as the Green Goblin?"
Leo was surprised by Bobby's guess.
"I'm not sure. There's no evidence or signs. I just feel that the longer it takes, the more detrimental it will be to our mission. If you really need evidence, just take it as my intuition."
"Anyway, can you crack the computer and elevator in Harry's office this time?"
"I have been studying the network of the Osborne Group for a whole month. I can freely hack into every networked device in every workstation, but the computer in Harry's office and the space above it are not connected to the network system of the entire building. They are only connected to their internal LAN. You can't hack into a place that is not connected to the network through the network."
"You can just say 'No, I can't,'" Bobby complained.
"In fact, I can."
Leo suddenly smiled confidently, stopped typing on the keyboard, took a small device from the computer and handed it to Bobby.
"Put this on Harry's desk. It will allow me to force my way in from the outside."
"And then what? Just put it on? I don't need to find an interface or something to plug it in?" Bobby took the device suspiciously.
"Do you really want me to explain to you how this thing works?"
Leo asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Put it on the table, right? No problem. We'll take action when Harry calls a board meeting."
Bobby put away the hacking device, stood up and walked out the door.

An hour later, in the Osborne Building conference room.
A dozen directors arrived early, and more than half of them felt stiff and uncomfortable.
These people were all accomplices who were persuaded by Donald to conspire to get rid of Harry. It was with the secret help of these directors that the killers sent by Hammerhead were able to monitor Osborne Building for several days without being discovered.
I thought I would hear the news of Harry's death, but it turned out that the person who was killed was Donald.
How could this not make them feel frightened?
Indeed, there is no evidence to prove that Harry is related to Donald's death, and to outsiders, Harry has no motive to kill Donald.
But in this world, some things do not require evidence.
Others may not know the true grudge between Donald and Harry, but how could they not know it?
Especially since Harry had just been attacked and the mastermind Donald died on the same day, and then the next day all the directors were suddenly called to a meeting. What was they doing?
No one knows, no one dares to ask, and no one dares not to come.
For a moment, the conference room fell into an eerie silence.
The few directors who did not go along with Donald clearly felt that something was wrong with the atmosphere and they all frowned.
Just two minutes after all the directors were seated, Harry walked in with a smile on his face.
"It looks like everyone is here, so I'll make it short."
Harry came to the first seat and sat down, looking at the directors with a smile.
"The reason for holding this meeting today is mainly because I want to discuss two things with you."
"Chairman, just tell me what you want. We can discuss it." A director who was in cahoots with Donald said with a flattering smile, hoping to leave a good impression on Harry.
"The first thing is about Donald Menken's accidental death. Although he was expelled from the board of directors, he was still a shareholder of the group and had a lot of shares in the Osborne Group..."
Harry spoke without even looking at the fawning director.
"Donald has no children, and all his other relatives have passed away, which means there is no heir to his assets. I decided to take back Donald's shares. It may be a bit inappropriate to mention this now, but this is a reality that must be mentioned."
After he finished speaking, no one raised any objections. Reclaiming equity was a legitimate act. Seeing this, Harry continued.
"The second thing is related to everyone present here."
As soon as these words came out, most of the directors present suddenly changed their expressions.
Could it be that Harry really knew about their conspiracy with Donald and was now starting to settle accounts?
“As everyone knows, when my father founded the Osborne Group, he set up many systems that were different from those of common companies. For example, every director on the board of directors owns shares. Although the number of shareholders is greater than that of directors, in fact, our board of directors is equivalent to the shareholders’ meeting.”
Harry smiled kindly.
"I personally think that this system is extremely unreasonable and obviously harmful to the management of the group, so I have a suggestion—"
"I plan to acquire all of your Osborne Group shares in my personal name. What do you think?"
