Chapter 264 Regulus
What kind of wizard is Regulus Black?
The cowardly but kind brother that Sirius mentioned?
But Harry thought he looked a bit like Percy.

When I was wandering around Blake's house, I found a small sign on a door at the foot of the stairs.

It was a very imposing little sign with neat handwriting:
Without my express permission
No Entry
Regulus Arcturus Black
It looked a lot like something Percy would nail to his bedroom door.

But as a Death Eater, he hid a prop that was related to Voldemort and asked Kreacher to destroy it.

This is strange.

As for why Harry thought this was related to Voldemort, it was all about feelings.

The feeling he had felt when facing Slytherin's locket was exactly the same as when he came face to face with Voldemort.

Does this mean that the younger brother that Sirius said followed Voldemort until death because of his parents and his own cowardice could become a hero who dared to resist Voldemort?

This was important, important to Sirius.

Harry thought so.

"Kreacher, what was that locket about just now?"

"You said the locket was 'Master Regulus's', but it's clearly related to Voldemort? Why would Regulus destroy it?" Harry asked tentatively.

He didn't expect much; Kreacher was never obedient.

He just wanted to find out in advance, and then tell Sirius all his guesses and let him ask.

Sirius was Kreacher's master after all, and faced with a logically perfect order that could not be misinterpreted, Kreacher could only answer.

But what Harry never expected was that Kreacher actually answered.

Kreacher still maintained a curled-up posture, but this also made his voice a little muffled when he spoke, "Kreacher is willing to obey Harry Potter's orders."

"Harry Potter is also related to the Black family. He is also the one that the Prodigal Son orders me to obey."

"Master Regulus is a good boy. He joined the Dark Lord's organization when he was sixteen. Later, Master Regulus said that the Dark Lord needed an elf, and Kreacher must do everything the Dark Lord asked him to do... and then go back-home." When Kreacher said this, his voice suddenly became painful and fearful.

Harry couldn't help but feel a little confused. Judging from Kreacher's performance, shouldn't he be as proud as Regulus?
Think this is a glory for the Black family and Kreacher?

Unless it's painful, an unbearable experiment in black magic.

This did not surprise Harry; Voldemort was capable of anything.

"What does this have to do with the locket?"

"So Regulus just handed you over like that? How did you come back? Could it be that Regulus saved you?" Ron couldn't help but ask curiously.

It seemed very likely that Regulus repented and rescued Kreacher, but was finally discovered and killed by Voldemort.

As for the Black family asking why everything was okay, didn’t they still have Bella?

She is also a Death Eater, and a relatively favored one.

However, Kreacher did not answer, and he almost muttered something unpleasant to Ron.

It seemed that Ron's earlier attempt to stop Harry from destroying the locket had angered him.

If he hadn't been concerned that Ron was Harry's friend, he would probably have cursed him out loud.

"Damn it - Kreacher can't - then Kreacher was taken to a cave. There was a big black lake and a green boat in the middle of it. There was an island, and on the island there was a stone - stone basin, filled with magic potion. The Dark Lord asked Kreacher to drink it..." The elf trembled all over. He seemed to have forgotten that he was still here, as if he had returned to that time.

"Kreacher drank it, and saw many horrible things while he was drinking it...Kreacher's internal organs were on fire...Kreacher called out to Master Regulus to save him, and to his mistress, but the Dark Lord just laughed...He forced Kreacher to drink the potion...He dropped a locket into the empty basin...and filled the basin with potion again."

"Then the Dark Lord boarded the ship and left, leaving Kreacher on the island..." Kreacher trembled even more violently, and even fell directly into the nest beside him.

"And you went back, taking the locket with you? Regulus died trying to destroy it?" Harry asked.

He thought it was possible, but it was ironic that Voldemort had lost a precious magical object because of the life of a house-elf he cared nothing about.

As for why it was so precious, Voldemort took Kreacher there alone and let him die slowly there.

"I think it's unlikely. It should be about the same as I guessed."

"How could an elf leave where Voldemort kept his precious items?"

"It had to be Regulus, and then he - ahem," Ron said to Harry.

He finally understood that Kreacher would definitely not answer his questions, but he could get through Harry!

"Stupid pure-blood traitor bastard, it was obviously Master Harry who guessed right!"

"But it wasn't this time. Kreacher only wanted to drink water at that time. He even forgot to go back immediately and slowly crawled to the lake. But there were many dead people's hands in the water. They dragged Kreacher in and Kreacher went home." Kreacher said.

"Is there something like a portkey in the water? Did Regulus hide it in there through those corpses?" Harry guessed.

"Master Regulus said Kreacher should go home, so Kreacher went home." Kreacher stared at him with his big eyes in confusion.

"I understand!"

"Those bodies must be Inferi, guarding the locket."

"I guess you'll have to drink those potions to get that locket, but if you drink them you'll lose almost all of your magical abilities and want water."

"And finally became part of the Inferi."

"And Kreacher was able to Apparate back, not because of the portkey, but because of the magic unique to these elves."

"Just like Dobby Apparated to Hogwarts before to give me something that was inconvenient to send by letter."

"And you can't Apparate in Hogwarts."

"As for the You-Know-Who's question about why he would make a mistake, that's easy to understand. He looks down on Muggles so much that he doesn't know how powerful they are."

"Not to mention that the elves, who are regarded as slaves, have magic that is different from that of wizards." Draco suddenly shouted and spoke out a long paragraph of his own speculation.

Kreacher's eyes widened. "Although the young master is annoying (Draco was also ready to stop Harry at that time), he is worthy of being the pure-blood nephew of the old master."

"Kreacher went home later. Master Regulus asked me to take him to the island. Master Regulus took out the same locket as the one in the Dark Lord's hand." Kreacher suddenly sobbed.

"He drank the potion—ordered Kreacher to leave and leave him alone—replaced the locket—had Kreacher destroy the first one—saw... Master Regulus...be dragged under the water...and then..."

"Then the mistress went crazy because Kreacher was ordered not to tell the family what happened in the cave. Kreacher couldn't destroy the locket. Kreacher knew it could only be done from the inside, but Kreacher couldn't open it." Kreacher burst into tears.
