Chapter 267 Round Table Meeting
Chapter 267 Round Table Meeting (Update )
George walked on the streets of the Elf City, and any elf who met him would stop and salute him.
Now the light elves in the Elf City are either the elves during the Battle of the Canyon or the elves during the Elf City Defense War. They have all witnessed George's contribution to the war with their own eyes and know that if it weren't for George, they might have all died.
So deep down, they were very grateful and respected George.
George is also the only human in this era who can make the elves greet him when they meet.
Even among the elves, only princes receive such treatment.
After walking for a while, he arrived at the council hall of the Elf City. Just when he was refining dragon crystal, an elf came to inform him that the three princes invited him to the council hall to discuss matters.
"Sorry, I'm late!"
George walked into the hall and took a quick look. He found that in addition to the three princes, Bregolas and Barahir, there was also an elf he didn't recognize.
The elf was taller than the three princes, and George could feel that the energy contained in his body might exceed that of the three princes combined.
“It’s not too late, we haven’t started yet.
George, let me introduce you to my cousin Fingon."
First Prince Finrod introduced to George.
"Brave Fingon, the next High King of the Elves!"
George immediately knew the origin of the elf in front of him. This elf was very famous in the history of elves.
When Fëanor's family burned the ships and abandoned the families of his two younger brothers, he led his people to seek revenge on Morgoth and was killed. His eldest son Maedhros inherited the supreme throne of the Noldor.
But soon after, he was deceived by Morgoth's oath to exchange the Silmarils for him, and was captured by Morgoth and hung on a cliff in Thangorodrim for thirty solar years.
His six younger brothers did not dare to go to the rescue because of Morgoth's power.
The two groups of elves, Fingolpen and Finrod, were still brooding over the burning of the ships by Fëanor and were unwilling to take action.
But Fingolpan's eldest son Fingon had a very good relationship with Maedhros when they were in Valinor, so he went to Angband alone and rescued Maedhros.
In order to thank Fingon for saving his life, Maedhros gave the throne of High King of the Noldor to Fingon's father Fingolpan despite the opposition of his six brothers.
After Fingolpan was killed in a duel with Morgoth, Fingon inherited the throne of the High King.
After becoming the High Queen, she united all the elves and humans and repeatedly fought off the army of Morgoth. In the end, she was surrounded and killed by a large number of Balrogs and orcs led by the Balrog King, and died of exhaustion.
"This is the Ivan George I just mentioned. If it weren't for his help, I'm afraid Galadriel would be the only one left in our group of elves."
After introducing Fingon, Finrod introduced George to Finrod, his tone full of gratitude.
Fingon looked at George, his eyes full of admiration and gratitude.
"George, thank you for helping the Noldor elves. We Noldor elves will always remember this kindness!"
When his uncle Fëanor burned the ships, his father Fingolpén led them and their cousins across the northwest Death Glacier and finally reached Middle-earth after going through many hardships.
So the relationship between these two groups is particularly good, no different from real brothers and sisters.
After all, they all have the same grandfather and grandmother, while Fëanor only has the same grandfather but not the same grandmother. (Fëanor and his two younger brothers have the same father but different mothers, and Fëanor's mother died after he was born.)
George saved Finrod's group as if he had saved his own brother, and he also helped to defend the central line of defense, preventing Morgoth's army from attacking the west from both sides.
This is a great favor to the entire elf race.
George naturally responded to this in the same humble way as before, and did not immediately use the favor to seize the elves' magic.
Because he already had a better idea.
Just like that, after some pleasantries, everyone sat down at the round table and began to discuss the next situation.
George just listened and didn't go forward to talk. He was not a military strategist, but because he knew some historical plots, he helped the elves gain some advantages in the previous war.
Now because of his intervention, the entire historical process has changed, and his experience is naturally useless.
After about two hours, everyone finally came to a rough conclusion.
First of all, they did not intend to gather troops to support the east.
The eastern defense line has completely collapsed, the army of Morgoth has entered the central continent, the six princes evacuated southward, and the eldest prince could only retreat to the castle. It was useless for them to concentrate their forces.
If the defense line has not collapsed, they can go over to support and repel the enemy, while the Seven Sons of Fëanor continue to garrison there. If they go over to garrison there now, they will only be attacked by the dark armies from both Angband and Middle-earth.
The key point is that if Morgoth sends his army to attack the west and the center again while they are going to the east to provide support, it will be even worse.
Secondly, they prepared to strengthen the defense lines in the center and the west to prevent Morgoth from launching a second attack.
Finrod will go back and mobilize all the elves to help garrison the elven city of his second and third brothers. Bregolas and Barahir also plan to find humans scattered around the world and live together in the elven city.
At the beginning of the First Age, humans appeared in the easternmost part of Middle-earth. Three human tribes chose to explore and migrate to the west, and their Beor family was just one of them.
There are two other branches, namely the Haladin family and the Malach family. The number of people in these two families is much larger than that of the Beor family.
Although the three families live in different places, they have always been in contact.
In this way, the troops in the center would be enough to build a solid defense line, and even if Morgoth gathered the remaining troops in the west and the center to attack together, he would be able to hold on.
On the other side of the canyon, Fingon was preparing to go to the secret kingdom of Gondolin established by his brother Turgon near the canyon, and ask Gondolin to send an army of elves to garrison there.
His younger brother Turgon loved traveling very much. Once when he was traveling along the Sirion River, he was inspired by the sea god Ulmo in his dream and established the kingdom of Gondolin in a very secluded place near the canyon.
It is not known whether the elves of the Kingdom of Gondolin were blessed by the sea god, but in just a few hundred years their population grew to be comparable to that of their father's Kingdom of Fingoln.
The number of Gondolin's troops was enough to defend the valley.
The West is naturally safer as it is guarded by the most powerful Fingolpan.
Finally, regarding the army led by the Firelord that rushed into the heart of Middle-earth and caused destruction everywhere, Finrod said that he would personally go to the Grey Elves Kingdom to ask Thingol to help clear them out.
As for why Finrod was able to ask Thingol to help?
That's because their branch is actually related to Thingol.
