Marvel's Magic Master
Chapter 34: George the Scholar Appears
Chapter 34: George the Scholar Appears
History of Magic was taught together by Slytherin and Ravenclaw, so soon after George entered the classroom, he saw Luna wearing homemade carrot-shaped earrings.
It was probably because of Luna's unusual behavior and way of speaking that students of the same grade as her in Ravenclaw were unwilling to sit with her, including her roommate.
Similarly, George was sitting alone because of his speech in the morning.
Before it is confirmed whether he is good or not, no one wants to sit with him for fear of becoming a laughing stock.
As for his three roommates, the swelling on their faces had not gone down yet, so it was impossible for them to sit next to him.
"Don't worry about what other people think, just be ourselves."
Seeing that George was sitting alone, Luna stood up and sat next to him, put her wand behind her ear, and comforted him in a very calm voice.
George smiled and nodded:
"Thank you."
Although he didn't need comfort, Luna's actions still deserved his gratitude.
Speaking of which, although Luna is a grade younger than Harry and the others, in terms of psychological maturity, she is sometimes more mature than some adults.
She has her own ideas and beliefs, and doesn't mind even if others think she is crazy.
When faced with classmates who often play jokes and pranks on her, she never gets angry and always looks calm.
To be honest, George felt that he would never be able to achieve what Luna did when he was her age.
The class bell rang, and the ghost Binns, the History of Magic teacher, passed through the blackboard wall and appeared on the podium.
This is the only ghost teacher in Hogwarts. When he was alive, he was the professor of History of Magic at Hogwarts.
Because one day when he stood up to go to class, he accidentally left his body in an armchair in front of the fire in the staff room, thus turning into a ghost and continuing to teach History of Magic at Hogwarts.
“In the Middle Ages, people who didn’t know magic were particularly afraid of it, but they didn’t have enough knowledge about it.
Occasionally, they caught a real witch or wizard, and burning was of no use at all.
The wizard only needs to cast a basic fire-condensing spell, pretending to scream in pain, and enjoy the tingling pleasure.
The weird Wendelin liked the feeling of being burned so much that she deliberately disguised herself in various forms and was caught forty-seven times."
There was no opening remarks or self-introduction. From the moment Professor Binns stood on the podium, he began to talk about the history of magic in his unique wheezing and drawling tone.
As if casting a hypnotic spell, some little wizards soon fell into a doze.
After speaking for half an hour, Professor Binns paused for a moment, and then, following the rigid teaching rhythm, began to ask questions:
"Can anyone tell me how many times the weirdo Wendelin was captured by Muggles?"
Although he asked the question, he didn't expect anyone to answer it because he knew his class too well.
So this is just a necessary part of the class. If no one answers, he will continue talking until the get out of class is over.
"Forty-seven times, Professor."
However, just as he was about to skip this step and move on, a little wizard raised his hand and gave the answer.
"Very good, that's correct."
Professor Binns was a little surprised, but he didn't think much about it and prepared to continue his lecture.
There are very few young wizards who can answer his question session. The last time was the Gryffindor student named Grant and Granny.
But this is nothing in his thousands of years of teaching.
"No points? It seems that just answering questions is not enough."
George raised his eyebrows slightly when he saw that Professor Binns did not give any points for his correct answer. According to his understanding, Professor Binns was the only professor who did not give points, not because he was mean, but mainly because he had a bad memory and could not remember to give points.
After becoming a ghost, except for various historical knowledge that he remembered clearly, his memory in other aspects became very poor.
So if you want to get points, it is not enough to just answer the questions correctly.
"Professor, I have a question. Since wizards can use various magic to defend against Muggle attacks, why were there so many wizards persecuted by Muggles in the past?"
"Because in the past, wizards learned magic from their parents, and many wizards didn't actually know many spells."
"So the four deans founded Hogwarts in order to allow more wizards to learn magic to protect themselves, right?"
"Yes, that's the reason. It seems you have some knowledge of the history of magic."
"During this period of time alone, I memorized more than 40 magic books, including A History of Magic, A History of Hogwarts, Important Magical Events of the 20th Century, Modern History of Magic, and Interpretation of Medieval Events."
"Are you sure you have memorized all these books on the history of magic?"
Hearing George's words, Professor Binns showed a rare look of surprise.
The other sleepy little wizards also woke up one after another, with gossipy looks on their faces.
"Then I want to test you."
Next, Professor Binns began to ask questions about the time, place, and general content of various events from the magical history books that George mentioned.
George answered all the questions fluently without any mistakes.
"Your name is George, right? That's great. It's been a long time since we've had a student as interested in magical history as you in this school.
Your knowledge of magical history exceeds that of many fifth and sixth grade students."
A smile full of relief appeared on Professor Binns's stern face.
Other ghosts turned into ghosts because of their fear of death, but he turned into ghosts because of his obsession with teaching the history of magic.
So nothing could make him happy to see that students were so talented and interested in History of Magic.
“I have always felt that History of Magic is a very important and important subject.
Studying the history of magic can help us put the experiences of our wizarding predecessors in history to good use and inspire our wisdom.
It is not only helpful for us to learn magic and improve spells, but also helps us find ways for wizards to get along with each other, and between wizards and Muggles.
The winners can see the future from history and illuminate our wisdom for progress! "
George expounded his views on history in a loud voice, and the young wizards from Slytherin and Ravenclaw beside him were stunned.
Although they didn't quite understand what George said, they felt that what he said sounded very impressive.
Because at this moment, Professor Binns' ghostly body was actually shaking with excitement.
"Well said, very well said, I will give you a reward, give you a reward.
Oh, I can give you extra points. I forgot. George, you are great. I will give Slytherin 50 points!"
"Oh, Professor Binns actually gave points for Merlin's beard. Didn't he say he never gives points?"
"Oh, Merlin's pants, George actually won fifty points for Slytherin in one go. It seems that what he said this morning was not an exaggeration."
When the little wizards heard Professor Binns giving out points, they were immediately excited.
