Fog Returns to the Capital

Chapter 7 Where to Stay

Chapter 7 Where to Stay

……

Li Wu first filmed the scenes that the crew needed to promote.

Once filming officially begins, her first scene will be a scene opposite the female lead.

However, on the day filming began, the female lead didn't arrive at the set. She didn't finally show up until almost evening.

She was followed by three or four assistants, all carrying large and small bags for her.

A person who looked like an agent followed the female lead, seemingly trying to persuade her as they walked, until a large group of people surrounded her and led her into the dressing room.

The male and female leads are both big stars, and each has their own dressing room.

Li Wu's makeup was done by the film crew's makeup artist.

She had a good natural look, and with just a touch of light makeup, her features were clear and bright, her eyes beautiful and pure. She had lost some of the girlish charm, but gained more of the gentle grace of a woman from Jiangnan.

Li Wu changed into her costume in the afternoon.

A snow-white long dress, draped with a matching gauze blouse. The skirt is embroidered with light-colored patterns, flowing and sheer, perfectly showcasing the elegant charm of Chinese style.

She is beautiful to the extreme.

But in the late autumn evenings, the temperature is much lower.

The costume consisted of only two thin pieces, and Li Wu originally planned to wear her own coat over them.

But don't want to.

She had just taken the coat in her hand when the costume designer from the film crew, citing the fear of damaging her expensive and exquisite costume, had someone take the coat away from her.

A cold wind blows every now and then.

Li Wu stood under a big tree, shivering from the cold, and the temperature around her seemed to be slowly dropping.

Li Wu glanced at the female lead who had the entire dressing room to herself, thinking that the makeup process would only take about twenty minutes, which wasn't a long time.

I've waited all afternoon, so what's a little more time?

"Having connections makes all the difference."

Other actresses waiting for their scenes nearby sighed.

"Exactly, they can just be late whenever they want on Director Jiang's set," someone else chimed in.

"Who can blame her? She's a top star in the industry now, and she has the backing of a powerful family like the Gu family."

……

While waiting, the actors chatted idly from time to time.

About an hour later, the door to the dressing room was opened from the inside.

When I heard the director say "Let's start filming."

Li Wu moved her cold, somewhat stiff fingers and put away the script she was reading.

only.

When filming officially began, the female lead walked over and saw Li Wu, her gaze suddenly paused.

Li Wu didn't know what that look meant at the time, but simply greeted her in a friendly manner.

It wasn't until an hour into filming, after the female lead made various "accidental mistakes," that filming actually started.

Li Wu was pushed into the pond again and again.

"I think my tone for the last word wasn't quite right. Shall we try again?"

The female lead, dressed in a gorgeous and noble red palace gown, casually placed her hand on the arm of a palace maid beside her.

The intricate nail guards on her hands seemed to gleam slightly cool in the light.

Just like the pond water in this late autumn night.

Li Wu had just been helped ashore by the crew members, and her clothes were completely soaked.

She was shivering uncontrollably from the cold when she heard the female lead say those words.

Li Wu looked up at the female lead, her clear, melodious voice devoid of any emotion, "I thought with your acting skills, you should be able to get it right in one take."

The female lead is a top-tier actress in the industry, who debuted as a child star and has starred in several hit period dramas.

Almost no one has questioned her acting skills.

No one dared to question her acting skills.

Upon hearing Li Wu's words, the female lead, Yi Li, showed no change in expression. Her exquisitely made-up face even wore a kind smile, and her tone was approachable.

"It's probably because I stayed up late memorizing the script yesterday and didn't get enough rest, which is why I'm not in good shape today," he said.

The female lead looked directly at the director behind the camera, her voice tinged with apology, "I'm sorry, Director Jiang, how about we do one last take?"

Hear the words.

Li Wu also looked at Director Jiang.

"..."

When Li Wu met Director Jiang's gaze, she was taken aback.

After a few seconds of silence, before Director Jiang could speak, Li Wu lowered her eyelids slightly and said softly, "Then let's do it again."

……

As per the plot, Li Wu was pushed into the pond once again.

They said they were filming the last take, but after it was shot, the actress frowned slightly, seemingly still not satisfied.

Just as she was about to speak, Director Jiang suddenly called her aside.

After getting up from the makeshift pond, Li Wu sat on a rock in the corner.

He was soaking wet.

The thin costume clung almost to his body.

Li Wu bent down slightly and reached out to hug the body that was shivering slightly from the cold.

The pond water was very cold in late autumn, especially after she was pushed into it several times. It felt as if her whole body had been washed by the cold water, and several of her fingers were so frozen that she could barely feel them.

With both lead actors and actors who brought their own funding to the project, any normal person would know who to favor.

Understanding this principle is one thing, but experiencing it yourself is another.

I just don't know if the director will use that last take...

When you feel a warm sensation on your body.

A suit jacket, still slightly warm, was suddenly draped over Li Wu's shoulders.

"How did it happen?"

A man's voice sounded above her head, deep and gentle. Li Wu looked up in a daze.

……

It wasn't until she sat inside the spacious, enclosed car, surrounded by the warm air, that Li Wu felt her body temperature slowly rising again.

She gently dried her hair with the clean towel the man handed her.

I don't know if it was because it had been left in the car for too long, but the towel had picked up a faint fragrance.

It has a very elegant and clean woody scent.

The warm, soft lighting inside the car illuminated the man's gentle and refined face, creating an unreal, dreamlike feeling.

Li Wu slowly stopped wiping her hair.

"How...did you end up here?"

After a few seconds of silence, Li Wu asked in a low voice, somewhat hesitantly.

She wasn't sure if he was an investor in the show.

In fact, although they had met a few times, she didn't even know his last name.

"I'm in Yuncheng on a business trip."

The man's voice was calm and composed, with a sense of ease and confidence. "A friend of mine happened to be here, so I stopped by to check on him."

Is there a friend here?

Li Wu couldn't help but wonder who his friend might be from the film crew.
But after making wild guesses, she realized that it actually had nothing to do with her.

"Oh," Li Wu responded softly, not daring to ask any further questions.

It was only at this moment that Li Wu belatedly realized how pathetic she had been in front of him.

Her costume was soaking wet, her hair was disheveled, and her makeup was ruined without her even looking in a mirror.

Li Wu shrank back towards the car door, trying to take up as little space as possible so as not to get his car dirty.

"Where to stay?"

After a few seconds of silence, the man's slow, deep voice rang out in the understated yet sophisticated car.
