Chapter 26 Actress Qin Mai
According to the requirements, they need to travel by public transportation, namely by plane.

The two had a minor disagreement about whether to book business class or economy class tickets.

As the chairman of the Cheng Group, business class is standard for him.

However, this was for Genga's business trip, and Genga didn't have the money to buy a business class ticket.

Cheng Mai paid for her own business class ticket out of her own pocket, but after boarding the plane, her business class was taken away, and Shang Xingjian unabashedly threw her into his economy class.

Cheng Mai grumbled and cursed as he upgraded himself to a cabin class on the plane.

The merchant was in a pretty good mood.

"Why didn't we just buy business class tickets?"

Cheng Mai pulled the blanket over himself, glancing at Shang Xingjian with a chilly look. "The money will be deducted from your salary."

"I still have my salary." Shang Xingjian had clearly given up all hope; he knew he could manage to spend money when necessary.

"MaiMai?" A surprised voice came from behind. Long Xu ran over and sat down to Cheng Mai's right. "Brother is here too. Hello, brother."

Shang Xingjian: "..." Who gave him the confidence to think he liked being called "brother"?

"MaiMai, are you going to Fengcheng too?" After Long Xu sat down, he ignored his manager's gaze telling him to be more dignified and continued to talk excitedly to Cheng Mai, looking like a happy little Samoyed wagging its tail, seeking its owner's attention.

The agent recognized Cheng Mai and knew that he was Long Xu's sugar daddy. He could only verbally tell Long Xu to be careful before going to the economy class section.

"Aren't we going to Fengcheng? Are we going to jump ship halfway?" Jian Liang from the business guild said in a cool tone.

Long Xu wasn't angry at being mocked. Instead, he scratched his head, looking as if he had just realized something. "Oh, it's not like it's a transit point. You can't get off halfway through."

Shang Xingjian quickly earned a sharp look from Cheng Mai, who scoffed and looked outside.

"What are you going to Fengcheng for?" Cheng Mai withdrew his flying dagger, his tone becoming much gentler.

Merchant Jian glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, and looked even more displeased.

"There's an advertisement filming location in Fengcheng," Long Xu said with a smile. "MaiMai, are you going to Fengcheng on a business trip?"

"Yes, I guess so." If catching ghosts counts as a business trip.

"That's called sending someone to their death from afar."

Cheng Mai took a deep breath, and finally couldn't help but grab the blanket and throw it directly at Shang Xingjian's face. "President Shang, you should go to sleep."

Merchant Jian readily complied, grabbing the blanket and covering his head directly, out of sight, out of mind.

"Huh? What do you mean, brother?" Long Xu asked worriedly.

“He’s talking nonsense,” Cheng Mai said with a slight smile.

Long Xu quickly accepted the explanation and continued to chat with Cheng Mai with a smile, telling him about his recent events and the fun he had while shooting the commercial. He even wanted to describe to Cheng Mai how many bites of food he ate that day.

Cheng Mai didn't say much, but he listened attentively.

She wasn't a very patient person, but she was always an exception when it came to Long Xu.

Even after the plane landed, Long Xu, being a celebrity and recently gaining popularity, already had fans waiting to greet him at the airport.

His agent came to take him away from the special event and politely said goodbye to Cheng Mai.

"MaiMai, I'll treat you to something delicious when I'm done with my work," Long Xu said loudly as he turned back to leave.

"Okay, contact me when you're done." Cheng Mai smiled and waved, telling him to go ahead and get busy.

The merchant, who had been sleeping the whole way, got up, pulled the blanket over her head, and walked out expressionlessly. "Noisy."

Cheng Mai pulled the blanket off the chair and placed it on it, then quickly followed him out. "Weren't you asleep?"

"If a cicada were chirping in my ear, I could fall asleep, and I would surely be dead by now," Shang Xingjian chuckled.

"Long Xu is always so polite to you, is it really meaningful for you to have such a strong reaction to him?" Cheng Mai said unhappily.

Shang Xingjian scoffed, "I was born only once, I have no younger brother." "Don't you have eleven brothers and sisters?" Cheng Mai said, and Shang Xingjian, who was striding ahead, suddenly stopped.

Cheng Mai suddenly realized something and tightly closed his lips.

Shen Luo once said that twelve gods sacrificed themselves to save the world, and as a result, eleven of them perished, leaving only Shang Xingjian.

"Yes, I'm sorry, I... I didn't..."

After a long silence, Shang Xingjian sneered, "That little bird seems to have a good relationship with you; it dares to tell you anything."

The one and only fire phoenix in the world was described by Shang Xingjian as just a little bird chick.

After finishing his brief explanation, the merchant continued walking forward.

It doesn't necessarily mean I'm angry.

Cheng Mai quickly followed, "Boss, your main purpose in bringing me here was just to deliver myself to someone's head, right?"

"In your human terms, it's called bait," Shang Xingjian said, then turned back and kindly asked, "Doesn't that sound better than a human head?"

Cheng Mai hardened his fists, took a deep breath, and ultimately couldn't suppress his temper.

"Boss, you better make sure you don't end up in my hands one day, or I'll beat you to death." After uttering these threats, Cheng Mai walked forward.

Shang Xingjian slowed his pace and followed beside her. "I see you're quite tolerant of Long Xu. Is this preferential treatment?"

That kid was more annoying than a cicada in summer, yet Cheng Mai never uttered a word of impatience.

"Of course it's because..." Cheng Mai was interrupted by someone who suddenly rushed past.

Shang Xingjian quickly pulled the person into his arms, but was still bumped by the person.

"Excuse me, I'm in a hurry." The beautiful woman walked by quickly, turning back to apologize with a slight bow, but soon disappeared into the distance.

Behind her followed a group of fans who were calling out "Xiaomai, Xiaomai".

Cheng Mai recognized the woman, Qin Mai, this year's Best Actress winner, who has starred in several hit TV dramas and is currently enjoying great popularity.

However, this knowledge is limited to simply knowing, having heard of, and being aware of something.

The crowd of fans moved away, and the surroundings quieted down, except for the person who was still holding onto him.

Cheng Mai: "Sigh, I'm letting go."

Only after she finished speaking did she realize that Shang Xingjian had been staring in the direction where Qin Mai had disappeared, his gaze deep and complex.

Cheng Mai glanced at the shop's document, then looked in the direction Qin Mai had disappeared. "Boss!"

She suddenly shouted out loud.

Merchant Jian suddenly snapped out of his daze and shoved the person away.

"I'm deaf." With that, he strode outside.

Cheng Mai slightly pursed his lips, put his hands behind his back, and chased after him. "Boss, you were looking at her so intently just now. Do you like someone like Actress Qin?"

"You know him?" Shang Xingjian admitted, but did not deny it.

"Boss, if you play fewer games and watch more TV, you'll get to know her too. She's this year's Best Actress, Qin Mai."

"The Qin lineage?"

“It’s wheat, the wheat of wheat, not the vein of my Henghe Mountain Range,” Cheng Mai explained earnestly.

Upon exiting the airport, Shang Xingjian stopped in his tracks.

"Let's go, why are you stopping?" Cheng Mai couldn't help but ask when he saw the person stop.

Merchant Jian: "You take a taxi, I don't have any money."
