Chapter 31: Handover

Chapter 31: Handover

The CEO of Ya Shen is no simple man either. He understands everything Wen Qi said. As early as when the incident was reported, he made a decisive judgment, sending people from the technical department to cooperate with the police in investigating the cause of the accident, and also sending someone to the hospital immediately.

Such an accident inevitably leads to lawsuits, and all departments of both companies are on high alert, not daring to relax for a moment.

Finally, the two public relations department heads also came up with a public relations plan.

The meeting lasted for an hour and a half before it ended.

In the afternoon, the group went to the factory to inspect the 29 vehicles that had been recovered. The technical department of Asia-Pacific Technical Center inspected each vehicle.

Within three hours, a similar malfunction occurred in one of the vehicles. Fortunately, it was recovered; otherwise, the consequences could have been disastrous.

Meanwhile, the cause of the accident has also been found: the radar sensor and laser rangefinder programs malfunctioned. As for whether it was infected by an external virus, further investigation is needed.

As the financier of this project, Wen Qi wanted the right reasons, and then the solutions, to minimize the losses as much as possible.

After a long day of running around, Ji Xuan didn't even have a chance to print out his resignation letter, let alone hand it in.

She didn't intend to quit completely just because she was resigning. She had to live up to the high salary Wen Qi paid her, so in the following days, while she was busy, she intentionally or unintentionally called Ye Xueyan to her side to do things.

It can also be considered a kind of handover.

Ye Xueyan's workload wasn't very heavy before, but these past few days, due to the accident at the Yashen project, the company has been busier, and Wen Qi has even started meticulously inspecting the results of other projects.

What puzzled her most was that Ji Xuan would call her whenever he had nothing to do, and would arrange everything for her, even explaining the procedures for the position of chief secretary in detail.

On the fourth day, she tentatively joked, "Secretary Ji, President Wen isn't going to transfer you to another department, is he? You're going to promote me so soon."

She wasn't stupid; she had a premonition.

Moreover, although I've been busy lately, I always feel that the relationship between Ji Xian and Wen Qi is somewhat subtle and hard to describe.

Ji Xian chuckled, raised an eyebrow, and did not deny it, only saying, "Treat me to dinner tonight?"

Ye Xueyan was taken aback.

Is he really being transferred to another department?
“I can easily arrange a meal with you,” she said with a pained expression. “But please don’t leave. The CEO’s office needs you and can’t do without you.”

This sounds like a child can't be separated from its mother.

Ji Xuan smiled faintly and said seriously, "In this world, no one is indispensable. You should seize this opportunity."

Ye Xueyan felt heartbroken. She felt that her current position was quite good, and the thought of getting any closer to President Wen was terrifying.

She graduated from university and wasn't without ambition to climb the corporate ladder, but President Wen was simply too intimidating to approach her.

After all, she wasn't confident she could be as thoughtful as Ji Xian.

She genuinely admired Ji Xian's abilities and talents.

But thinking about it, it's fine. Secretary Ji is just changing departments, not leaving. If there's anything in the future, I can still consult her.

Feeling much better after that, I asked, "Which department are you planning to go to? Revenue Management? Financial Engineering? Or Risk Management?"

These departments are all relatively important and suitable for Ji Xuan.

Ji Xian didn't answer but asked, "Which department do you think I'll go to?" Ye Xueyan thought about it seriously for a while, "To be honest, none of these departments are easy. The busiest one should be the Financial Engineering Department. The Risk Management Department also has to do market research, and they have to be out in the sun and wind every day. The Revenue Department has to deal with all kinds of data every day, and their heads will explode."

"After your analysis, I'm not going anywhere."

Ji Xian smiled and raised his eyebrows, replying jokingly.

Actually, as a liberal arts student, she found it quite difficult to learn science subjects. When she first entered Linqi, she bought piles of books on finance and economics to study on her own, and also searched for videos and information online.

Looking back on the past five years working in Linqi, it really wasn't easy.

But we got through it.

She was very grateful to Lin Qi, who had taught her a lot and helped her grow a lot.

Thinking about the resignation letter she had printed out in her spare time this morning, her heart sank slightly.

The situation regarding the driverless car accident has not completely calmed down in the past few days. Six people were injured, involving four families, and Yashen is actively negotiating compensation issues.

The four families initially reacted strongly, harboring deep hatred for Ya Shen, but their anger was gradually quelled by Ya Shen's attitude.

The promised compensation was substantial, and they also promised to cover all subsequent medical expenses for the six injured individuals.

One of the more seriously injured patients successfully passed the critical period after spending three days in the ICU.

Ya Shen felt that he had already appeased the situation and needed to give the public an explanation, so he held a press conference on the eighth day after the incident.

The heads of several key departments, including the technology department and the CEO of Asia-Pacific, personally bowed sincerely to the camera to apologize and stated that they would be more rigorous in their security systems in the future to achieve zero risk.

Because of this, Ya Shen judged it as an invasion of foreign viruses, which meant that someone was deliberately trying to sabotage Huang Ya Shen's car launch project.

The criticism of Ya Shen from the outside world has also decreased significantly.

The day after the press conference ended was Monday. The family that had been in the ICU for several days due to serious injuries suddenly started making a fuss. They were dissatisfied with the amount of compensation and even spread rumors that they had been threatened by senior executives of Yashen and forced to accept and forgive.

Fortunately, Asia Pacific's public relations department is experienced. They recorded all the conversations about compensation and other matters, and their lawyers were also present.

Once the recording was released, the public outcry subsided instantly.

But Ya Shen had no intention of letting it go. Their sudden counterattack must have been instigated or provoked by someone.

If we don't find the person behind this, who knows if we'll be targeted again in the future? So, we must get to the bottom of this.

While Ya Shen was embroiled in a lawsuit with this family, the tense atmosphere in Lin Qi gradually eased, and they stopped working overtime.

During this time, Ji Xian took some time to visit Ruan Zheng at the old house twice.

Perhaps because she released all the pent-up feelings last time, her complexion has improved a lot, and she is willing to come out and walk around in her wheelchair. However, she is still relatively silent, occasionally smiling, but most of the time, she stares blankly at something.

Ji Xian then offered a suggestion to Sui Yi, "Auntie, Ruan Zheng can't go on like this. She'll become depressed. Maybe you could find her some other hobbies to distract her."

Sui Yi understood what she meant, but Ruan Zheng was in a state where it was difficult for her to accept something new, so they had to take it slowly.

On Wednesday, Ji Xian felt that Ye Xueyan had almost finished handling the matters at hand. He calmed himself down, took the resignation letter he had prepared in advance, and knocked on the office door.
