Ring of Fate
Chapter 868: Traders
Chapter 868: Traders
As the gray-white crystal clusters were shrouded in the mist, they disintegrated on their own and merged into it. The white mist that Perle incarnated quickly expanded into a huge, strange vortex.
In the vortex, the face of this "supervisor" was looming, sometimes distorted, sometimes normal.
She looked up at the sky, her voice became vague, and she spoke in the Words of Order:
"Bernadette gave Roselle's tomb's location information on the original island, the venue for the vortex ritual, and some materials, and requested a gray deal. The reward she wanted was for the great 'Uncertain Mist' to grant Roselle a gift, allowing the pollution in his body to truly reach balance."
As soon as Perle finished speaking, a spot of light appeared in the white vortex.
Inside the light spot was a deep, dark void, in the middle of which stood a solid and heavy planet, the surface of which was covered with layers of ever-changing white mist.
Suddenly, a wisp of white mist that covered the planet separated and fell to the edge of the light spot, where there seemed to be an invisible barrier.
The wisp of white mist then spread and became nothingness, and then, with the help of the power of the ritual, the dark box containing the truth, and the cracks on the surface of the invisible barrier, it cleverly penetrated through and fell on the white mist that Perle had turned into, and on the blurred face that was sometimes hideous and sometimes smiling.
The two merge into one.
Immediately afterwards, a large part of the white mist that was the incarnation of Perle separated and slowly flowed in the form of a river towards the mausoleum of the "Black Emperor" that was built by hollowing out the mountain, seeping in, continuously.
"The Mysterious Queen" Bernadette turned around and faced the mausoleum.
Her long chestnut hair suddenly parted, revealing a pair of cold and ruthless transparent eyes behind her head, while her other facial features slowly took shape around these eyes in a blur.
It's like another her is growing out.
Bernadette used this opportunity to peek at several scenes inside the Black Mausoleum and confirmed that her sleeping father Roselle had been enveloped by the influx of white mist.
This gradually eroded into Russell's body and began to distort the ever-increasing pollution, slowing it down.
Likewise, it distorts the forces that cause new pollution to die quickly.
Due to the disparity in quantity between the white fog pollution and the original pollution, it will take some time to maintain the ceremony in order to achieve a true balance between the two.
At this moment, in the blue sky with white clouds, the sun, which was not yet at noon, suddenly burst into a dazzling light, as if it had sensed that an extremely dangerous gray transaction was taking place on this primitive island.
Perle's face, enhanced by the white mist in the light spot, became increasingly blurred and abstract, and the corresponding mist expanded to completely cover the entire treeless area, but did not approach Bernadette and the tomb of the "Black Emperor".
One after another, spots of light emerged in the fog.
Perle's distorted face looked towards one of the light spots, and he spoke in an even more illusory and ethereal voice:
"The great 'Super Star Lord' agreed to use all his strength to suppress the barrier, making all the true gods in the star realm unable to interfere with the affairs within the barrier..."
As Perle said this, a bright light suddenly appeared in the light spot she was staring at, which was bright enough to swallow all the darkness and blind the angel's eyes.
Along with this change, the high sky was suddenly illuminated, as if a flash bomb was thrown into a closed room.
Protected by the ritual, Perle also had to close his eyes.
Neither she nor the "Mysterious Queen" Bernadette could see the sky turn into nothingness, and there seemed to be a transparent barrier with many cracks in the depths of nothingness.
In that void there was a sun that looked like it was painted, a huge monster shrouded in thick darkness, a terrifying figure surrounded by a lightning storm, a pair of brass eyes that opened in the cracks and seemed to be connected to a tall body, wheat ears, flowers and springs that filled a corner, and a hazy glimmer that vaguely presented scenes of civilization...
A huge, heavy, and dense "fireball" slammed heavily on the invisible barrier with many cracks. The light that erupted was extremely bright, completely illuminating the nothingness and making those abstract patterns that seemed to be composed of concepts almost transparent.
This did not cause earthquakes throughout the world within the barrier, but only caused people to be unable to open their eyes for a short time.
Perle's face in the white mist closed his eyes and continued to speak in the Word of Order:
"The reward He needs is to break the seal on the spaceship at the bottom of Santa Port."
As Perle finished speaking, a spot of light grew slightly larger, and the scene reflected in it was the blue sea.
Finally, the bright light that penetrated the barrier was no longer so dazzling. Perle opened his eyes, looked at the blue sea in the corresponding light spot, and said in an ethereal voice:
"Topsey of the 'School of Deliciousness' is willing to pay this reward..."
As Perle spoke, a terrifying whirlpool suddenly appeared on the blue sea.
A monster emerged from the vortex. It was dozens or even hundreds of meters tall. Its lower body was shaped like a giant snake, covered with shark-like skin with deep and evil patterns. Its upper body had nine necks, and each neck had a different head. Some of them looked like snakes, some looked like giant sharks, some had wet hair and looked like black wolves, and some looked like the legendary dragons...
The head at the center is the most bizarre. It looks like a human face, but there is only a mouth left. The teeth in the mouth are so sharp that they seem to be able to bite everything to pieces.
This head pounced on the invisible force that sealed the sea area and began to bite it frantically. Some of the other heads devoured the fish in the sea, some spewed venom at the seal, and some tried to use their own abilities to affect the seal...
"What he needs is..." The voice of "Supervisor" Perle reached the ears of "Mysterious Queen" Bernadette through the white mist, "Let the great angel of 'Original Hunger' return!"
Bernadette outside the white mist had condensed an ancient spear at some point in time. The spear had appeared in an ancient era that could not be traced back, and was stained with the blood of a great being. There were dark red blood spots and plaques all over it, and it seemed that it could hurt real gods.
"Mysterious Reappearance", "Lance of Longinus"!
Bernadette threw the ancient spear that exuded a breath of destruction towards the white mist, but her target was not the "Supervisor" Perle, but the light spot that had just grown bigger.
She wanted to stop the subsequent gray transactions and prevent the vortex from continuing to spin and bring real harm. Anyway, her goal had been achieved, and she just needed to maintain it for a while!
The Spear of Longinus pierced through the white mist and hit the point of light that reflected the blue sea.
However, it failed to dim or extinguish the light, as if it had fallen on an illusion.
As the ancient spear dissipated, Overseer Perle turned to Bernadette with a frivolous smile:
“The vortex has formed, and it won’t stop unless you kill me.
"And if I die now, Roselle will not be able to achieve true balance, and the fragile balance that has been broken will never be restored."
Bernadette paused.
Then, Perle looked at another point of light and said in a disembodied voice:
"The person who is willing to help Topsey of the School of Deliciousness is Mr. Higdon of the Society of the End of All Things."
The spot of light that Perle was staring at quickly grew a little bigger, revealing a luxuriously decorated room.
Inside the room, an old man with gray but neatly combed hair sat quietly on an antique armchair.
The old man was wearing a neat white shirt, a black suit and a grey bow tie. His facial features were handsome in a tough way, but his exposed skin in different parts of his body was intermittently festering and oozing pus, and sometimes maggots, the kind found only in rotting corpses, would crawl out of it.
His deep, magnetic voice passed through the light spot, into the white mist, and reached Perle's face:
"But I don't know where the target is in Trier."
Perle laughed twistedly, raised his head slightly, and moved his gaze to one of the light spots located diagonally above him.
The light spot then grew larger, and inside was another room, a room with no lights on and closed doors and windows.
The sunlight shone into the dark room through the glass window, making the countless dust particles flying in the air clearly appear.
Beneath the dust was an ancient wooden loom, and next to the loom sat a woman with black hair down to her waist.
The woman had an ethereal temperament and beautiful features, but she kept her eyes closed and kept pulling out her hair to weave into the dense silk threads on the machine.
Blood mixed with pus flowed from the corners of her eyes, her left arm was broken and fell to the ground, her legs covered by the white skirt were empty, and behind her stood a soft female statue. The statue originally had no face, but now gradually grew facial features similar to this woman.
The strands of hair on the loom glow with a faint light, which contains a wealth of information.
As if she had heard the question from the "supervisor" Perle, the woman used her right hand to stroke the strands of black hair entangled on the loom.
All the black hair strands she touched lit up, revealing the corresponding information:
"The Rose School's Hedonistic Faction brought the Shadow of the Goddess of Beauty to Trier in order to get as close to the Trier of the Fourth Epoch as possible. They did it very covertly and were not discovered by the demigods of Trier..."
"The Temperance Faction belonging to the Church of the Fool discovered the whereabouts of the Hedonists and the existence of important items in advance, but they were too cautious and did not take action immediately. Instead, they waited for an opportunity to complete the investigation, and thus missed the opportunity..."
"Lumian Lee took Ludwig and the others to a safe house in the botanical garden in District 14 of Trier. If he knew that the vortex would be so huge, he would definitely regret not taking his companions to teleport directly to the New Silver City. But how could he have imagined that?"
These pieces of destinies are intertwined together to form a foreseeable future.
The ethereal voice of "Supervisor" Perle echoed in the room:
"Hellos, the founder of 'Dream Seekers' and the Servant of Fate, is responsible for weaving the whole thing, allowing some of it to proceed smoothly and not arouse the vigilance of those in higher positions. At the same time, she will also provide the locations of the two angels..."
As Perle spoke, the woman named Helos flicked her finger on the thread of fate that represented Lumian and Ludwig's transfer to the new safe house.
A point of light jumped out, split into three pieces, entered the white mist of Perle's incarnation, and flew to different places.
