When I was writing my previous book, someone said that the life of the Wu people under Sun Hao's rule was simply a horror movie, a bit like a real-life version of "Rule of Ghost Stories". This gave me great inspiration, and it was at that time that I suddenly thought of how to write this book.

I originally wanted to rest for a few more months, but I had no choice. Firstly, I couldn’t sit still, and secondly, I had to write books to support my family.

"Strange Stories of the Northern Qi Dynasty", both the title and the introduction are very misleading. Many people think that I have stepped out of the historical track and started writing strange stories and supernatural phenomena. In fact, it is still history, just a historical text written in a different way from the original one.

Speaking of which, I have written several history books. Although I have tried many styles, they all seem to be somewhat similar in the end. In the middle and late stages of writing, they all seem to have become the same story. It is inevitable that readers will feel aesthetic fatigue and the author will feel a lack of passion.

Therefore, I tried to write in a newer and different way. I was not sure how the result would be. I searched for a lot of information and intertwined the plot with historical materials as much as possible. I tried hard to depict the joys, sorrows, anger and happiness of the lower-class people of that era. I thought I put a lot of effort into this book.

Therefore, I wrote relatively slowly. Sometimes I would sit for a whole day, revising and editing, and could only finish a few thousand words. However, I did not lose my passion. The more I wrote, the more excited I became. Sometimes I would read my new chapters over and over again, reading them several times, and feeling secretly proud of myself.

However, a new style will of course bring about new controversies. This book has very little popular science content, and the historical background is just used as a background. Most of the explanations are through dialogues to explain the current situation. There are also very few introductions to the characters, and they are all interpreted through actions and words.

As for the psychological description of the protagonist, I basically skipped it and only described it through his external reactions. I think this way of writing is very suitable for the so-called "weird story style".

This makes the beginning difficult to understand. At the same time, if you read too fast, you will be confused and have no idea what I am writing. The characters are messy and there are many characters, so readers don’t understand what I am writing. I am also trying to make some remedial work.

Regardless of how you feel about it, it will be on the shelves tomorrow. I have also prepared some drafts so that everyone can have a good look at it all at once.

I have also prepared myself mentally that the performance of this book may not meet my expectations, or be far inferior to "The Father" and "The Clothes", but it doesn't matter. It is a good thing to have passion for writing books. I have a lot of plots that have not been unfolded yet, who knows if I can catch up later?
