Chapter 508: Death Anniversary Dinner, the Death of Mrs. Loris

Chapter 508: Death Anniversary Dinner, the Death of Mrs. Loris
Two months later.

Ever since Hecate was defeated by Peter, Raven and the other three, the magical world has returned to peace.

Nandarbat was destroyed, and Rama Kushner took up residence in Lady Xanadu's body, temporarily solving her accommodation problem.

The cemetery of swamp monsters has come back to life.

Everything seemed to have returned to its original vibrant state.

Hogwarts.

Winter is coming and the damp wind blows through the castle.

Along with the cold wind comes a rapid drop in temperature.

For several days, raindrops hit the castle windows like bullets day and night. The lake water rose, a lot of soil from the flower bed was washed away, and the whole road became muddy.

Mark walked on the muddy path, wrapping his clothes tightly around himself.

"Hey, Mark!"

Harry's voice came from behind him.

Looking back, he saw that it was Harry and Ron walking towards him.

Because Mark's integrity matched Harry's and Mark's personalities, after a few months of getting along, they became good friends.

"Are you free tonight? Mark, we can go to the death anniversary party together."

Mark frowned slightly when he heard Ron's words, and asked in confusion: "What is the Deathday Party? Isn't today Halloween?"

Harry explained to him, "It was organized by Headless Nick. He said that this Halloween is the 500th anniversary of his death."

"Uh"

Mark didn't know whether to look happy or sad.

Headless Nick is the ghost of Gryffindor House.

His head and neck were connected by only a layer of skin, but he was not scary at all. He was very kind and funny.

As to when he appeared in the college, there is no way to trace it.

Mark heard that his neck was struck forty-four times with a blunt axe.
Ron continued, "He said there would be a party in a big house, and friends from all over the country would be there."

Glancing at Harry, he showed a dissatisfied expression, "Harry actually agreed without asking for my opinion. I was originally planning to participate in the school's Halloween. To be honest, I don't understand why someone would celebrate their own death."

Mark didn't know how to respond, and after a while he said, "Well, it sounds very depressing. I'm willing to go to the party with you. I mean, the death anniversary party."

"Very good, this is what a true good friend is."

Ron came over and put his arm around Mark's shoulders, "Mark, tell me more about Mr. Padrick's battle with the parasite."

Harry and his two companions already know that Mark is from a parallel world that is completely different from their world.

The trio's curiosity was aroused, and they pestered Mark to ask about the farm.

Ron and Hermione were particularly interested in Mark's legendary father.

Now, whenever they have time, they would ask Mark to listen to Peter's adventure stories.

"Didn't I tell you yesterday?"

Mark said with a wink.

"Really? I forgot. Then tell me the story of General Zod. You said you fought against aliens together. Oh, and can I see your two brothers who can fly and shoot lasers from their eyes? I remember they showed up at the opening dinner."

Ron expressed his desire to meet Zu and Clark.

Mark was a little overwhelmed by Ron's enthusiasm and smiled awkwardly.

"I'll tell them."

night.

Because the school was holding Halloween, Mark, Raven, Tom, and Loki were all at school and did not return to the farm.

At seven o'clock, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Mark walked straight out the door and into the crowded hall.

The hall was sparkling with golden plates and candles, creating a peaceful atmosphere for Halloween.

Then they walked to the office, and candles were placed in the aisle leading to Headless Nick's party.

The thin, long black candles had bright blue flames, casting dim, ghostly shadows on the faces of several people.

With every step down, the temperature here seems to drop a little.

Harry shivered a little, and pulled the robes tighter around him.

After taking a few steps, he suddenly heard a sound like nails scratching on a blackboard.

"What is this sound?"

Mark also heard it, and he whispered to a few people.

Harry shook his head to indicate that he didn't know.

Hermione and Ron looked confused, neither of them heard anything.

Then they turned a corner and saw Headless Nick standing next to a door with a black and purple curtain.

"My dear friends, welcome, welcome... I am so glad you are here..."

Headless Nick took off his feather hat, bowed to the people, and let Mark and others in.

Entering the room, the scene inside was unbelievable.

Inside the room, hundreds of pale, transparent people were floating on the dance floor, dancing the waltz to the terrifying, creepy music.

On the platform under the dark curtain, a symphony orchestra was pulling thirty electric saws vigorously.

The tree-branch chandelier above the ghosts' heads emits an eerie blue light.

"Shall we take a walk around?"

Harry swallowed and suggested to the others.

He wanted to move his numb feet and hide his trembling mood.

"Be careful not to walk through others."

Ron reminded them nervously, and they walked carefully along the edge of the stage. Then they saw a group of nuns with gloomy expressions and a ragged man in handcuffs.

Mark even saw a knight with an arrow stuck in his forehead and a Slytherin ghost covered in blood and with a haggard face.

As they were about to continue their tour, Harry suddenly felt a strong sense of uneasiness.

He seemed to hear some strange sound.

"I'm so hungry... I've been waiting for a long time..."

"kill kill"

Turning around, Harry asked Mark and Hermione, "Did you hear that?"

Mark nodded solemnly, “I heard it.”

The sound is getting weaker.

Harry was sure of the source of the sound and fled towards it.

"This way."

Standing up, Harry quickly ran up the stairs and into the lobby.

At the Halloween party, the noisy conversations of students and teachers echoed in the lobby.

Harry ran up the stone steps to the first floor, followed closely by Ron, Hermione and Mark.

"Harry, what are we doing?!"

"Shh!"

Harry made a motion to silence himself.

Looking up, he heard the voice above him: "...I smell blood...I smell blood!"

"Catch up with him. The voice seems to be up to something bad. He seems to want to kill someone."

Harry said as he hurried forward, with Mark following closely behind him.

Ron and Hermione looked at each other in confusion, then rushed up the stairs, three steps at a time, and chased after the two men.

Harry and Mark rushed to the second floor, followed by Ron and Hermione, panting, and finally stopped in an empty corridor at the end.

"Harry, Mark, what's going on?"

Ron asked the two breathlessly: "I can't hear anything..."

Hermione on the other side pointed down the corridor and gasped.

"Look at that!"

There was a flash of light on the wall in front of the corridor.

Several people walked slowly and carefully into the dim corridor step by step.

On the wall between the two windows, the palm-sized words painted on it glowed faintly under the flickering torchlight.

“The mysterious secret room has been opened!
Descendants of the enemy, beware."

Ron turned his eyes away from the font and looked in another direction, and saw something that horrified him.

He asked in a trembling voice: "What is this hanging down there?"

There was a large puddle of water on the floor, reflecting the light.

There is a black mass under the font.

They immediately recognized what it was, and the frightened Hermione let out a scream and jumped back quickly.

Mrs. Norris, the cat raised by the caretaker Argus Filch, had her tail hanging on the torch barrel, her body as stiff as a board, and her eyes wide open, staring at the few people.

Harry, Ron and Hermione stood there in a daze, not daring to move.

Mark, who was well-informed, was the first to react and wanted to put Mrs. Norris down.

But soon thunderous applause broke out in the banquet, and footsteps were heard on the stairs.

The students who had just finished their dinner walked up the stairs and also saw this horrific scene.

Seeing the hanging cat, everyone stopped chattering.

The entire corridor fell into an eerie silence, and everyone looked at the words on the wall.

After a while, a voice sounded in the crowd, "Descendants of the enemy, beware! You are the next target, a person of Muggle descent!"

Malfoy stood up, looked at the blushing Harry, and said sarcastically.

"What happened? What happened?"

The noise made by the crowd soon attracted the administrator Argus Filch.

He shouldered his way through the crowd.

When he saw Mrs. Norris, he stepped back in fear, his face filled with horror.

"My cat! My cat! What happened to Mrs. Norris?"

he shrieked, his eyes widening as he directed his gaze towards Harry.

"You!" he screamed. "You! You killed my cat! You killed her! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to--"

"Filch."

Soon a voice interrupted him, and Professor Dumbledore arrived at the critical moment.

He asked Professor McGonagall to put Mrs. Norris down, and then asked Mark and the others to follow him to the office.

early morning.

Raven returns to the farm on the school bus and tells Mark what happened.

Peter took the school bus to Hogwarts School.

After entering the headmaster's office, Peter saw Dumbledore placing Mrs. Norris on the smooth table and examining her.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Mark sat solemnly in the chairs beside the candlesticks, exchanging nervous looks from time to time.
