Chapter 89: The dark wolf girl and the scared Clark!
“Actually, I’m a local and this farm is inherited from my parents.”

Being stared at by the chief with a meaningful gaze, Peter put down his cutlery calmly and said.

"You don't look like a local, Peter."

Seeing that the atmosphere at the table was a little strange, Kelly quickly tried to change the subject, "My grandfather is an expert in ancient characters. I believe that he can decipher the characters in the caves and maybe solve some puzzles."

The chief looked at his granddaughter, "Only if Luther doesn't bulldoze these caves."

He thanked Peter again, "Anyway, Peter, I have to thank you. If it weren't for you, that person would really do this."

Kelly asked curiously, "Grandfather, do you know Leno Luther very well?"

“I don’t know him, but I know he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Peter nodded slightly when he heard this and looked towards Kelly.

He didn't know whether Leno was a wolf in sheep's clothing, but there was a woman here who was truly in wolf's clothing.

The next day, early in the morning.

Star-Lord, sitting in the stroller, was concentrating on watching an advertisement on TV.

The fully armed gunman was firing a six-shooter.

But what he shot out were not bullets, but cookies.

Stacked around the gunman were chocolate-flavored slices, shortbread, and oatmeal.

The gunman stood dejectedly among a pile of cookies, with the gun shell empty, and said dejectedly lines like "Oh, all the bad guys ran away."

Then, with the high-pitched background music, the gunman's expression suddenly changed, and he said to the screen: "I have cookies. The best cookies in the West, or even anywhere else."

Finally, after the gunman took a bite of the cookie and showed an expression of climax-like happiness, the whole film gradually faded away.

Peter looked at this stupid commercial speechlessly and asked Kelly who was cleaning up the dishes, "You didn't give Star-Lord cookies, did you? Kelly."

"No, Star-Lord is just a baby, he's not cut out for cookies."

As she spoke, Kelly glanced at Star-Lord who was absorbed in the commercial and continued, "That's what you say, but it seems to me that Star-Lord is not a baby who is not suitable for eating cookies."

"You mean his weight?"

Kelly shook her head, "No, it's not just the weight and size, but also his current maturity."

Peter asked confusedly, "What maturity?"

"He seems to be able to speak."

Kelly thought of the scene last night when this naughty kid called her mom when she was taking care of him.

"is it?"

Peter looked at Star-Lord, who was drooling at the TV, "What did he say?"

How could Kelly, who had never experienced anything like this, say such a thing? She could only make up a lie, "He said he was hungry."

Hearing this, Peter looked at Star-Lord with surprise.

"Is he really a 'genius'?"

At this time, Star-Lord seemed to hear Peter and Kelly discussing him. After shifting his eyes away from the TV, he gave them an innocent smile.

Meanwhile, Smallwell Elementary School.

Azu and Clark sat in front of the TV.

It so happened that a commercial for Sharp Cookies was playing on TV.

This scene is very familiar to children who watch "Crazy Bunny" and "The Dragon Gang" every Saturday morning.

Clark watched the advertisement on TV and said to Zu, "I think this cookie should be delicious."

"I think you should be careful not to become like Star-Lord. Desserts are the easiest food to make you fat."

A-Zu thinks he should advise Clark that sweet cookies need to be consumed in moderation.

"Cocoa Bears, Bran Bran, and Sharp Whole Grain Meals sound like they're full of fattening things."

Ah Zu counted the foods that seemed very dangerous to him, "Dad said that these things can't be trusted. Sweets are all evil."

Clark said confidently: "I think the devil is the lack of self-control. Obviously, I am the one who has self-control."

"No, you have no self-control, Clark, you will be tempted by the devil."

"You're the one who will be tempted by the devil, Zu."

Clark responded sharply.

in the afternoon.

Clark and Zu, returning home from school, were still arguing about who would be the one to fall easily.

As they talked, they brought up the topic of the devil again.

Curious Clark asked Peter about the legend of the devil.

"Perhaps Miss Kelly can explain to you that in their Indian legends, there are many legends about demons."

Peter kicked the two curious kids to Kelly.

"We are not Indians, Peter."

Kelly said dissatisfiedly: "We are the Kawachee people living on this land."

"My bad. In your Kawachee legends, are there any stories about demons? Or Wendigos? Bigfoots?"

Peter asked curiously, "Or a similar story. There are two very curious children here. They want to hear strange stories."

"Do you really want to hear it?"

Kelly put Star-Lord on the child's chair, coughed and asked the two. Peter looked at her face and always felt that this woman had bad intentions.

"Of course." The two brothers said in unison.

"Well, this is a horror story. A long time ago, an evil came to this town. He was not a werewolf, a vampire, or a ghoul. He was not some guy from an enchanted forest or a snowy wasteland. He was a demon named Dude."

"He killed a lot of people, and the whole town was shrouded in his shadow."

Kelly said with a deep tone, "Later, a man named John Smith discovered his name through a magic trick, but before he could catch him, Dude committed suicide."

"Is it finished?"

A-Zu asked, scratching his head.

"Yes, the story ends here, but the nightmare about this demon remains. One day he might be resurrected and take away disobedient children."

As she spoke, Kelly stretched out her hand, pretending to have sharp claws, and said seriously:
"He's there when the wind whistles down the chimney and the stove-holes start humming when the old can lids stopper them, and if you're not a good boy it may be his face you look in at your bedroom window when the rest of the house is asleep."

Kelly deliberately let out a low sob. "Or... it could be his face that's secretly staring at you from the closet in the middle of the night."

"Also, he'll have a smile on his face, and in his left hand he'll hold a stop sign for kids to cross the street, and in the other hand he'll hold a razor he'll use to commit suicide... so... shh, don't let him hear it!"

Azu and Clark were completely immersed in the vivid stories told by Kelly.

After looking at each other, the timid Clark held his breath nervously and dared not move.

Although Zu knew that Kelly was most likely talking nonsense, he was still drawn into Kelly's story.

"Well, the demon is dead and Dude is rotting in his coffin, so don't worry about him coming to get you."

Peter came over and patted Clark and Zu on the shoulders, motioning for them to wash their hands and prepare for dinner.

After the two naughty kids left, Peter said to Kelly helplessly, "I never thought, Miss Kelly, you still like to play pranks."

"Prank? This is not a prank. There are indeed similar stories in our tribe."

"is it?"

Peter hugged Star-Lord and teased him for a while, then turned to Kelly and said, "In my vague memory, my mother or grandmother said that the devil in a black raincoat would take me away in order to calm me down."

"That was an enlightened age where parents knew that the things they did and said could cause psychological harm to their children."

Peter talked about his previous life and his vague memories as a child.

Kelly poured herself a glass of water and shook her head. "Clark and John, they won't be scared by the story I just told them, nor will they be traumatized. They are not ordinary children, especially Zu. Did you see the look of disbelief on his face just now?"

Peter shook his head. "Actually, in some ways, they're just normal kids."

He realized that this black-hearted wolf girl seemed to want to play a prank on Zu because Zu always said that she was Star-Lord's mother.

Clark was unlucky enough to be implicated, but Zu was not scared, but he was.

Just as he was about to continue discussing children's education with the wolf girl, the phone suddenly rang.

After answering the phone, he spoke a few words to the other party and hung up with a serious face.

"what happened?"

Kelly saw Peter frowning and walked over to him and asked.

"There has been a homicide in the town. The deceased is a farmer. The police want to find out more about the situation from the farmer in the town."

Charles Boone's farm.

This farm located at the end of Smallwell Town was surrounded by many police officers and residents.

Peter and Kelly, who was holding Star-Lord, walked to the outside of the cordon.

Noticing Peter's appearance, Officer Chandler immediately came over and set up a cordon for the two of them.

Seeing Carrie holding the child, Chandler coughed and introduced himself to her.

"I'm Chandler, miss, nice to meet you."

He thought Kelly was Peter's new girlfriend. He took a look at her delicate features and hot body and said with some envy, "Peter is a lucky guy."

Kelly nodded in agreement, but looking at Chandler's face, she quickly realized what he meant.

This guy thinks she's Peter's wife?
She glanced at Peter, then looked at herself standing beside him holding the child.

Well, it does look a bit like a couple.

As she was struggling, Chandler brought Peter to the scene.

Looking at the body on the ground that had been torn into two pieces, and the wall stained red with blood, Peter frowned.

"what happened?"

"As you can see, Charles Boone is torn in two."

"When did it happen?"

Peter looked down at the torn body and asked, "Is it just a murder? Or is it a robbery of the farm?"

"We don't know yet."

Chandler shook his head and said worriedly, "Because we don't know the murderer's motive, we called the Smallville farmer and told him to be careful recently. Maybe the murderer's purpose is to take the property on the farm. Some robbers like to prey on farmers."

Peter nodded and bent down to examine the dead man's wounds.

The wound looked like it was torn open directly, not like an ordinary knife wound.

He stood up and looked at the blood splashed on the wall like a painting with a serious expression.

This doesn't seem to be something humans do.
