Chapter 40 Shen Yi's thoughtfulness
Wan thought the sun had risen in the west and was quite surprised. She looked at the grain carefully for a while before believing that she was not hallucinating, and a sincere smile appeared on her face.

"We're all family, no need to be so polite. By the way, have you found a place to stay?"

Su Chunlin nodded hurriedly, glanced at the sky outside, and saw that it was almost dark. Thinking about all the things that needed to be done at home, and feeling somewhat regretful that he hadn't been able to see Su Chunsen, he told Wan about the new house that had been built at home.

“Sister-in-law, please tell my brother that if he can come back this year, the whole family can go back together for the New Year and have a good time. I was too embarrassed to ask before because we didn’t have enough rooms, but now we have many new houses, so it’s not a problem for everyone to have their own room.”

Slightly surprised, Mrs. Wan nodded in agreement.

Su Chunlin then took Su Tai and said goodbye.

Before leaving, Madam Wan called Su Tai back and inserted a thin silver hairpin into her hair, saying, "This is the first time your aunt is meeting you, and I haven't prepared anything nice for you. You can wear this silver hairpin and play with it!"

"Thank you, Auntie." Su Tai accepted the thanks without hesitation.

This earned him a few more glances from the Wan family.

After seeing them off, Wan asked Awang to help carry the grain back to the house where she and Su Chunsen lived.

Su Chunsen didn't return until very late. Originally, Wan Shi didn't plan to tell him about what happened back home, but then she thought that it wouldn't be good if Su Chunlin came and asked about it when she got back, so she told him about it.

Su Chunsen was overjoyed, "Chunlin really built a new house? Where did he get the money?"

Looking at the grain, Wan muttered, "I reckon the harvest from the fields is pretty good this year."

Su Chunsen nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "I'll go find them first thing tomorrow morning and ask about the situation."

Wan knew without even thinking what Su Chunsen was going to do. She was a little unhappy, but didn't say anything excessive.

Su Yu and Su Chuan exchanged a glance, and while Wan Shi was out, Su Yu whispered to Su Chunsen, "Dad, it's a big deal for Uncle's family to celebrate their new house. It's fine if we can't go, but we can't be impolite. I'll pack some things later, and you can take them to Uncle for me tomorrow."

Su Chuan nodded in agreement.

The next day, before dawn, Su Chunsen left the mansion with his belongings.

The streets were still dark. He went to the inn where Su Chunlin had stayed last time to look for her, and sure enough, he found her right away.

Su Chunlin was overjoyed at his elder brother's arrival.

Su Chunsen looked at him with satisfaction and placed everything on the table. "These are from Xiaoyu to Xiaotai, and from Achuan to his two younger brothers. Please keep them safe. And this two taels of silver is a gift for your housewarming."

"No, no! Big brother, I can't take any more of your money!" Su Chunlin refused no matter what. "I came here specifically to tell you that it would be best if you could come back and celebrate the new house with us. If you can't come back, it's okay. We'll see during the New Year. Anyway, we've reserved three rooms for you at home, so you'll definitely be comfortable."

"Okay! I'll definitely go back and visit when I have time, brother." Su Chunsen's eyes welled up with tears.

The two brothers talked for a while longer before Su Chunsen left.

Su Chunlin packed his bundle and handed Su Tai her share, saying, "Let's go! We need to get back to the village quickly."

Having come all this way, his worries are finally over, and he can now choose a good day to move into his new house.

The father and daughter arrived at Dongmen Village before dark.

Han Shi and Su Zhan and Su Ming had just returned from the new house. Seeing that the two of them had brought a lot of things, they were both happy and emotional.

When Madam Han inquired about the situation and learned that the eldest son's family couldn't return, she didn't say anything.

The couple decided to find someone to choose an auspicious day the next day. Su Tai, meanwhile, entered the Earth Dimension late at night and harvested two acres of rice and four acres of cabbage, selling her crops for 9600 coins.

The drought was most likely over, and she no longer needed to worry about water. She decisively spent eight thousand coins to hire eight more ground squirrels and handed over the rest of the farm work. From now on, she could finally be freed from the heavy farm work in the Earth Time.

Now that the farm work has been arranged, the next step is to fulfill the promise and help the villagers buy grain seeds.

Therefore, Su Tai specially invited Su Chunlin to Shenjiazhuang, ostensibly to invite them to the Su family for a housewarming celebration.

When the father and daughter arrived at Shenjiazhuang, they learned that Shen Yi was busy building a new house.

When they arrived at their destination, Su Tai realized that Shen Yi had truly taken all her words to heart, leaving no detail of the courtyard's layout unrecorded.

Su Chunlin was overjoyed when he saw the yard, which was about the same size as his new house, and insisted on helping with the chores.

Shen Yi took a moment to speak with Su Tai, "You've come at the right time. Let's see if there's anything we've missed."

Su Tai felt a pang of sympathy for him and handed him the handkerchief in her arms. "Wipe your sweat, I'll look at it slowly. Oh, by the way, we're moving into our new house soon, my dad invites you over for the housewarming party, and there's also the matter of the grain seeds."

Shen Yi looked around, nodded slightly, and said in a low voice, "You can put the things in the house, anywhere you want. I'll cover for you later. Also, as you said, I bought two more acres of good land, and six acres each of sandy and poor land. I can't take care of any more than that, and I'm afraid the villagers will be jealous."

"I understand, this is enough." Su Tai said, then gave a couple more instructions before turning back to Shen Yi's house.

She was alone in the house, which made things convenient. She opened the door of the room she had stayed in before, bolted the door, and then went into the Wood Dimension Seed Shop, where she ordered 350 catties of wheat seeds, 150 catties of soybean seeds, and 240 catties of peanut seeds.

I haggled with the boss and used up all the remaining virtual currency.

Su Chunlin returned with Shen Yi in the evening.

Upon receiving Su Tai's hint, Shen Yi immediately took Su Chunlin inside to see the seeds.

Su Chunlin burst into laughter with excitement and pressed for an answer: "How much is it per pound?"

Although everyone harvested grain this year, the yield was low, and the price of grain outside remained high, at fifty coins per jin, and the price of grain seeds was twenty coins more expensive.

Su Tai spoke up from the side, "Father, Brother Shen told me that it's fifty coins per jin."

Shen Yi nodded, "We're all from the same village, so this price is fine."

Su Chunlin was deeply moved and praised Shen Yi profusely.

The next day, Su Tai left some soybeans and peanuts for Shen Yi, and let the father and daughter take the rest back to Dongmen Village.

Upon receiving the news, Su Changfu shamelessly came over to try and get a share of the profits.

Su Changxi had no objections. He was overjoyed to receive the grain seeds and casually mentioned Su Yan's wedding, saying, "My girl's wedding is set for November 12th. Your family must come to the wedding banquet!"

"So rushed?" Su Chunlin asked in surprise.

Su Changxi sighed, "We didn't want to be in such a hurry either, but the Sang family suddenly sent a matchmaker to our door, and now I'm worried about the girl's dowry!"

Their custom is that a woman brings her dowry to her husband's house on her wedding day, and the dowry can be adjusted before that.

Su Changfu remained calm. "Whether she marries sooner or later, she has to get married. Since the other party is in such a hurry, let's get the marriage done. As long as they don't mistreat Yan'er, that's fine. But if they dare to neglect our Su family's daughter, I won't take it lying down!"
