Knight and Wand

Chapter 39 Hostages Evacuated

Chapter 39 Hostages Evacuated

The brief exchange ended before it aroused the suspicion of the guards outside.

Putting down their visors to cover their faces again, Leon and Lohak stepped aside silently.

Azerien poked his head out from the corner and shouted out the door in a muffled voice.

"Sir, I don't understand Feru language. This golden chick is chirping as if she is asking you something." (Uriah)

Outside the door, Knight Kantadar, who had just uncorked the wine and taken a few sips, looked inside the house in confusion.

He smacked his lips, put down the wine barrel in his hand, stood up, grabbed the halberd and axe, and walked into the big house with his servants.

The knight impatiently yelled to the blonde girl in the corner: "Little girl, what's the matter?" (Ferru language)
Looking at the guard who came in, Olivia took a deep breath, prepared herself mentally, and stood up and walked towards him.

The knight's heavy body took a step back and immediately straightened his halberd.

The two servants beside him also put down their spears and pointed them at the approaching girl, fully alert.

Seeing their reaction as if they were facing a great enemy, Leon on the side was slightly stunned, and quickly nudged Lohak with his elbow inconspicuously.

The three of them quickly pretended to be on guard and drew their swords, pointing the long blades at Olivia.

They haven't revealed their identities yet, so they have to follow the knight's reaction and pretend.

There were just six fully armed men in a room surrounding a young girl, with their weapons pointed at each other in such a tense manner, the scene was really funny.

"I have decided to agree to your leader's request, but I have conditions!"

Olivia's cheeks flushed slightly. Even if it was just a lie to deceive the other party, such words still made her deeply annoyed.

"When my father wakes up, he must be released." The girl closed her eyes and continued through gritted teeth.

".Heh, what do I think? If you had behaved well earlier, it would have been fine. The Baron wants to have sex with you, not your father."

Seeing that the girl softened her attitude after just one meal, the knight with the halberd couldn't help but laugh contemptuously. It seems that no matter how chaste and virtuous a woman is, she will surrender obediently as long as her soft spot can be found.

"That being said, I have no right to make a decision on your condition. I'd better wait for the Baron to make the final decision."

The knight raised his halberd and pointed at the three mercenaries casually: "Well, you go and tell the baron that this girl has agreed to sleep with him." (Uriah)

Although she couldn't understand what the other party said, Olivia could guess that the other party was instructing Leon and others to go out and pass on the message.

The girl interrupted with gritted teeth: "Wait for your leader to come? Do you think I would do that here?"

"Ah? What else? You are such a troublesome girl. Don't you have rooms upstairs? Do you want us to build a new house for you to marry the Baron?" The halberd-wielding knight sneered impatiently.

Olivia stammered and turned her head away. She pursed her lips, and gripped the hilt of the sword tightly with her five fingers, trying her best to suppress the shame and humiliation in her heart: "Take me to see your master. At least, don't let me say these despicable things in front of my father."

"Pretentious."

Seeing the blonde girl trying hard to suppress her anger, the knight with the halberd didn't want to force her any further. He was afraid that if he pushed her too far, the girl would get so angry that she would draw her sword and commit suicide.

If you kill the beauty that the baron likes, you will have to pay the consequences.

"Alright, but since you are willing to compromise, put down your sword first. I will not let you get close to the Baron with a weapon again." The halberd-wielding knight gave an irresistible order.

Olivia picked up the sword and frowned. This was not part of the plan.

But thoughts raced in her little head, and she immediately put on an unwilling expression and threw the weapon aside seemingly casually.

The sword fell to the ground with a bang and slid to Leon's feet.

Understanding what he meant, Leon put on alert, pointed the blade of his right hand at the girl, and quickly picked up the sword in front of him, pretending to surrender it for safekeeping.

The ignorant knight had no doubts at all: "That's more like it."

Seeing that the girl had completely lost her weapon, the knight with the halberd felt much more at ease. She was no longer a threat to him with her bare hands.

But not enough.

The knight took a few steps forward, put the axe blade against the girl's neck, and then ordered the servants and mercenaries beside him: "Go find me a rope and tie up this girl's hands." (Uriah)

Olivia was caught by the axe blade and began to panic.

The other party did not speak in Feru language, so she could not understand what the knight was trying to do. Naturally, Leon and Lohak on the side could not react either.

But fortunately, there was Azerien among the group who could understand.

The young man quickly looked around and saw the hemp rope next to the pile of sacks not far away. He hurriedly ran over ahead of the other two knights' attendants.

Olivia saw Azerien, disguised as an enemy, picking up the rope from over there, and couldn't help but turn to the knight in front of her and ask: "What are you going to do?"

"Do you really think I will let you approach the Baron freely? Little girl, don't treat me as a fool. You are so powerful, who knows if you have learned hand-to-hand combat before." The knight with the halberd joked.

Olivia glanced at Azerien who was behind her, and calmed down. Then she pretended to be angry and closed her eyes and cursed, "Coward."

".Coward? I'm just being cautious about sending a man-eating beast to my lord's bed." The halberd-wielding knight laughed shamelessly.

Azerien lowered his head silently, and swiftly tied Olivia's wrists with a rope from behind. Taking advantage of the girl's body, he tied a hidden slipknot at the end of the ropes that bound her from an angle that the knight couldn't see, and then quietly poked the girl's palm with the rope that would open with a pull.

Olivia understood what she meant. She grabbed the end of the knot and covered the knot with her folded hands.

Leon saw it clearly from the side and felt relieved.

"Is that enough? How about you tie my feet too?" The girl opened her eyes, looked at the knight with contempt, and sneered coldly.

"Hahaha, that's not necessary. Let's go." The halberd-wielding knight smiled and raised the axe blade.

He waved his hand and asked the servants to hold the girl on both sides. He looked at the three mercenaries next to him, pointed at one of them and ordered, "You stay and keep an eye on the unconscious old man." (Uriah)

Lohak couldn't understand the Kantadars' chatter, and his eyes behind the mask drifted towards Azerien.

(Uriah) "What are you standing there for? Haven't you seen enough of this golden-haired girl? If the master tells you to stay, then stay!" Azerien pushed Lohak's shoulder badly, raised his hand and pointed at the old blacksmith lying in the corner in the distance and shouted.

Although he also didn't know what his partner was shouting at him, Lohak saw Azerien's finger pointing slightly at the ground and tapping it gently. He immediately understood the hint and nodded quickly, making "ang ang" sounds in his mouth to agree.

This was the only Uriah language he had learned so far.

Lohak was left alone to guard the unconscious old blacksmith, while several people surrounded the blonde girl and took her out of the house.

Leon held Olivia's sword in one hand and a dagger on the girl's shoulder in the other. He glanced at the big house behind him, feeling nervous but also a little relieved.

Although there were slight deviations from the plan that was temporarily devised in an emergency, fortunately it was successfully handled.

What was even more surprising was that the knight did not even ask his squire to stay behind to guard the blacksmith.

This saves the trouble of having to find an excuse to send someone back to steal the hostage.

In this way, they only have one goal.
Lohak stood at the door and watched the crowd disappear around the corner.

He turned and looked around.

Very good, no other Kantadar bastards were seen, perhaps they were either resting or still doing evil.

After waiting silently for a few moments and making sure that the people who left did not look back, Lohak suddenly turned around and ran back to the big house.

The young man walked quickly to the unconscious old blacksmith and lifted up his strong upper body. He wanted to carry him out directly, but when he saw the sack under him, Lohak changed his mind.

I said in my heart: I'm sorry.

Picking up the big sack, the young man put his entire body into it.

After making a few small holes for ventilation, Lohak picked up the sack containing the person and swaggered out of the village house like a kidnapper, heading towards the place where the horse was hidden not far away.

At first glance, he now looks no different from those Kantadar soldiers who abducted women.

But what was in his sack was not a crying girl, but an unconscious old man.

Unfortunately, when passing the corner alley, I ran into several Kantadar soldiers.

(Uriah) "Hey, brother, what beauty are you carrying? And you're holding her in a sack so that no one can see her?" A mercenary cavalryman greeted Lohak with a lewd smile.

Not understanding what the other party said, Lohak suppressed his murderous intent, hid a ferocious expression behind the mask, nodded and uttered a simple "ang ang" in response.

Fortunately, those people had no intention of getting entangled and just turned sideways and passed by Lohak at the alley.

Even among brutal mercenaries who burn, kill and loot, there are tacit understandings and unspoken rules in the industry.

They are all "comrades-in-arms" who have followed a boss through life and death, killing and burning for years, and they would not touch their comrades' spoils for no reason.

With his whole body tense and alert, Lohak turned into the small yard where the horses were tied and immediately put the old blacksmith on his shoulders onto the horse's back.

Untying the reins and mounting the horse, Lohak rode the horse slowly out of the yard and headed towards the outside of the village at a leisurely pace.

Although they met patrolling Kantadar soldiers in time along the way, no one stopped Lohak, a "mercenary cavalryman" who seemed to be looking for a place to vent his violence.

The old blacksmith carrying the sack quickly escaped from the village. The moment he was successfully away from the fence of the village house, Lohak finally couldn't help but flicked the reins and galloped into the woods not far away.

He rode his horse through the dense woods, and when he had run far enough, after rushing over a low slope to hide his body, he reined in the horse and quickly carried down the old blacksmith's sack.

After unbuttoning his sack, Lohak heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that the old man was still breathing steadily.

Olivia's father is safe for the time being, but her companions are still in the devil's cave.

Without hesitation, Lohak helped the old blacksmith hide behind the grass on the slope, immediately mounted his horse, and ran towards the village.

Riding on the bumpy horseback, he quickly passed through the shade of the trees.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of wind that could not even be covered by the sound of horse hooves.

Lohak raised his head and glanced sideways in confusion, looking into the distance.

When he saw the huge object flying across the sky in the distance, his eyes widened in surprise.
