Under One Person: I Opened the Age of Mythology

Chapter 373: 72 transformations, I am the Great Sage!

Chapter 373 Seventy-two transformations, I am the Great Sage!
"Ok?"

"That guy Thirty actually stepped in before me?"

"It looks like I have to hurry up too!"

In the other quiet room, Zhou Sheng suddenly opened his eyes and smiled, feeling the fluctuations caused by Gu Jiting reaching the "peak".

In fact, he achieved perfection almost at the same time as Gu Jiting, but to be on the safe side, he consolidated it for a while, but he didn't expect that he was overtaken by Gu Jiting.

But it just so happened that Gu Jiting had a breakthrough at this moment, and coupled with Qu Ying's previous experience, Zhou Sheng's feelings became clearer and deeper. He nodded gently...

"Well, it's about time."

So, he closed his eyes without hesitation, immersed his mind into the "prototype of body, heaven and earth", and stood in nothingness.

However, although they are all pioneers of the "Way of Qi", Zhou Sheng's way is very different from Qu Ying, Gu Jiting and even Zhuge Kongming. His way is to "seek change in the unchanging" and "escape the three realms by changing oneself a thousand times"...

Its ultimate goal is obvious:
Beyond the Three Realms, not within the Five Elements!
Because of this, he already knew how to open up his own "world"!

The next moment, Zhou Sheng's mind moved, and the scene around him suddenly changed, and a world with a round sky and a square earth took shape.

There is a heaven in this world. There are nine levels of heaven, and each level has four heavens, for a total of thirty-six levels, where immortals and gods live.

Below is the underworld, which has eighteen layers and is guarded by gods and Buddhas of the underworld.

There are four continents in the world: Dongsheng Shenzhou, Xiniu Hezhou, Beijuluzhou, and Nanchanbuzhou, and there are fairy islands everywhere.

There is also the Western Paradise of Ultimate Bliss, where the Buddha and his disciples preach and the Buddha's light shines brightly.

It has to be said that it was fate that Zhou Sheng took a liking to Qu Ying and accepted her as his disciple. At least when it came to the methods of breaking through the "peak", the two had similar approaches.

The world created by Qu Ying's breakthrough is the "Fengshen" world, and Zhou Sheng's is the "Journey to the West" world. Like his beloved disciple, he also chose to seal his own memory and enter the inner world for training...

Transformed into the top of the Flower-Fruit Mountain on the edge of the Aolai Kingdom in the Dongsheng Divine Continent...

That fairy stone!
……

……

The warm sunlight shines on the top of the mountain, and the Huaguo Mountain is full of lush vegetation, singing birds and fragrant flowers.

Zhou Sheng's consciousness merged into the fairy stone, feeling the baptism of the essence of the sun and the moon, and his consciousness gradually became clearer.

After an unknown amount of time, life seemed to surge inside the stone, and cracks appeared on the surface of the stone. Finally, with a loud "bang", the boulder exploded, and a stone monkey covered in golden hair broke out of the stone, uttering a cry that shook the heavens and the earth.

The newborn stone monkey was full of curiosity about the world. He blinked his golden eyes and looked around.

He instinctively reached out his hand, scratched his cheek, then touched the stone beneath him, making a squeaking sound.

Afterwards, Zhou Sheng slowly stood up and greeted everyone.

The sun rises in the east, with brilliant rays of light;

The mountains in the west are stacked and shrouded in clouds and mist;

The jungles in the south are dense and green;

The sky in the north is blue and cloudless.

The stone monkey kowtowed in four directions in turn, as if to thank the heaven and earth for their creation.

After learning to walk and jump, the stone monkey began to explore this new world. He hopped and skipped among the flowers, plants and trees.

At this time, a group of monkeys came running from a distance and invited him to join.

He soon showed extraordinary flexibility and strength and became the leader among the monkeys.

One day, a little monkey pointed to a waterfall deep in the mountain stream and asked curiously:

"What's behind the waterfall?"

The stone monkey's heart moved, and he immediately said:

"I gonna go see!"

He leaped into the waterfall.

Behind the waterfall is a huge cave. The stone monkey shouted excitedly, calling the monkeys outside to come in.

Seeing this, the monkeys also jumped into the waterfall, and this cave became their new home.

The stone monkey was elected king!
Looking at the cheering monkeys, the stone monkey felt heroic. He accepted the decision and called himself "The Monkey King".

After this, the stone monkey began to think about deeper issues. He wanted to live forever and have more powerful power.

He heard from the old monkeys that there was a fairy mountain overseas where immortals lived who could teach the art of immortality, so he decided to go out to sea to look for the immortals.

Finally, after a long wandering, he came to a fairy mountain. The mountain was shrouded in clouds and mist, and the air was filled with fairy air, just like a fairyland.

The stone monkey was very excited, he knew he had finally found it.

He climbed up the mountain road and came to a Taoist temple. At the entrance of the temple, an old man with white hair and beard was sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed.

The old man slowly opened his eyes, looked at the stone monkey, a gleam of light flashed in his eyes, and asked:

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

The stone monkey bowed respectfully and replied:

"I am a disciple from the Water Curtain Cave in the Flower and Fruit Mountain of the Aolai Kingdom in the Dongsheng Divine Continent. I have come here to learn from you and seek the way to immortality."

The old man smiled and said:

"I am Subhuti, you and I are destined to be together, so I will accept you as my disciple."

The stone monkey was overjoyed and immediately bowed down and said:

"Disciple pays homage to Master!"

Patriarch Bodhi brought the stone monkey into the Taoist temple, named him "Sun Wukong", and taught him the seventy-two transformations and the somersault cloud.

After completing his studies, he bid farewell to Patriarch Bodhi and returned to the Flower-Fruit Mountain on his somersault cloud.

When the monkeys saw Sun Wukong coming riding on the clouds, they all knelt down and cheered loudly.

He proudly demonstrated his newly learned 72 transformations, sometimes turning into a flying bird, sometimes into a walking beast, which dazzled the monkeys and made them marvel at it.

A grand banquet was set up in the cave and the celebration was grand.

After three rounds of drinking, Sun Wukong suddenly remembered that he didn't have a suitable weapon. He scratched his head and looked around, but still couldn't find a suitable one.

An old monkey suggested:

"My king, why don't we go to the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea and borrow a weapon?"

Sun Wukong's eyes lit up and he thought this was a brilliant plan.

The next day, Sun Wukong flew to the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea with a somersault cloud.

Inside the Dragon Palace, the crystal palace is magnificent and golden, with shrimp soldiers and crab generals lined up on both sides, very impressive.

When Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East China Sea, saw Sun Wukong coming, he hurried forward to greet him.

Sun Wukong went straight to the point and stated his purpose. The Dragon King ordered his men to bring swords, spears, and halberds for Sun Wukong to choose from.

Sun Wukong picked up one item after another, but found them all too light and small to be difficult to use.

At this time, the Dragon King mentioned the Dragon Palace's treasure, the Dinghai Shenzhen.

When Sun Wukong heard this, he immediately became interested and asked the Dragon King to take it out for him to see.

The Dinghai Shenzhen, also known as the Ruyi Jingu Bang, weighs 13,500 kilograms. When Sun Wukong held it in his hand, he felt it was as light as a feather. He wielded it with great vigor. It was exactly the weapon he dreamed of.

So, without saying a word, he forcibly took the Dinghai Shenzhen and left, leaving the Dragon King and his shrimp soldiers and crab generals trembling in fear, unable to say a word.

Back at the Flower-Fruit Mountain, Sun Wukong was holding the Ruyi Golden Cudgel, looking majestic and awe-inspiring.

And one day after that, when he was playing, he accidentally learned that his life was coming to an end, and he was shocked.

He remembered the underworld he had heard about before, which controlled life and death, and decided to go there to find out.

In the underworld, there were gusts of cold wind, ghosts crying and wolves howling, it was eerie and terrifying.

When the Ten Kings of Hell saw Sun Wukong causing chaos in the underworld, they did not dare to stop him and allowed him to look through the Book of Life and Death.

He found the monkey genus, waved his golden hoop, and crossed out the names of all the monkeys. From then on, all the monkeys in Huaguo Mountain were immortal.

Sun Wukong's actions alarmed the Heavenly Palace, and the Jade Emperor was furious and ordered the capture of Sun Wukong. The Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li was ordered to lead the heavenly soldiers and generals to the lower world to capture him, and the two sides fought a fierce battle in Huaguo Mountain.

Sun Wukong holds the Ruyi Golden Cudgel and has great magical powers. His 72 transformations are extremely effective and he defeats the heavenly soldiers and generals by surprise.

The Heavenly Court sent troops again and again, but was unable to subdue it.

Seeing that Sun Wukong was becoming more and more difficult to deal with, Taibai Jinxing suggested to the Jade Emperor that it would be better to recruit him, give him an official position, and let him serve in Heaven.

The Jade Emperor adopted this suggestion and conferred the title of "Bimawen" on him.

At first, Sun Wukong was quite satisfied with this official position. He inspected the celestial horses every day and felt free and easy.

But when he learned that "Bimawen" was just a minor official who raised horses and had no real power at all, he felt that he had been deceived and insulted. He was furious and immediately overturned the plaque of the Imperial Stables and returned to the Flower-Fruit Mountain with a somersault cloud.

After returning to the Flower-Fruit Mountain, Sun Wukong became more and more angry. He gathered all the monkeys and proclaimed himself the "Great Sage Equaling Heaven".

When the Heavenly Palace learned of Sun Wukong's rebellion, they sent troops to capture him again.

This time, there are more heavenly soldiers and generals, and their lineup is stronger.

Sun Wukong was not afraid at all. He held the golden cudgel in his hand and fought fiercely with the heavenly soldiers and generals.

Finally, the Buddha Tathagata took action and suppressed Sun Wukong under the Five Finger Mountain.

……

……

Five hundred years passed in the blink of an eye.

Under the wind and sun, Sun Wukong was weighed down by the Five Finger Mountain, his body became hunched, and his golden monkey hair lost its luster and was covered with dust.

His once unruly eyes have now dimmed a lot, and only the occasional flash of golden light can vaguely reveal the charm of the former Monkey King.

One day, a monk in a cassock, riding a white horse, came slowly.

The monk had a compassionate face, his hands clasped together, and he was muttering something.

When he arrived at the Five Finger Mountain, the monk stopped and looked at a yellowed piece of paper stuck on the mountain. On the paper were six large characters “Om Mani Padme Hum” written in large letters.

Sun Wukong narrowed his eyes, sizing up the uninvited guest, and a hoarse voice came out of his throat:
"Who are you?"

The monk smiled slightly:
"I am a poor monk, Tang Sanzang."

"Tang Sanzang?"

Sun Wukong repeated the name, as if he thought of something, and a golden light flashed in his eyes.

"Are you going to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures?"

Tang Seng nodded:

"Exactly."

"Seeking scriptures? Haha..."

Sun Wukong sneered.

"What scriptures are you looking for? What's the point of taking those illusory scriptures?"

Tang Seng's expression remained unchanged, still compassionate:
"The Buddha's teachings are boundless and can save all living beings. I am going to the West to seek the true scriptures and save all people."

Sun Wukong curled his lips, stopped talking, and turned his head away, as if he was disdainful of Tang Seng's words.

Tang Seng did not take it seriously. He walked to the Five Finger Mountain, carefully examined the yellowed paper, then looked up at the top of the mountain, muttering to himself:

"Om Mani Padme Hum... Om Mani Padme Hum..."

As Tang Seng chanted, a golden light flashed on the Five Finger Mountain, and the piece of paper spontaneously combusted without wind and turned into ashes.

"what?"

Sun Wukong exclaimed in surprise and turned to look at Tang Seng, his eyes full of confusion.

At this moment, Wuzhi Mountain began to shake violently, rocks rolled down, and dust flew.

Sun Wukong felt the pressure on his body suddenly relieved. He pushed hard and actually broke free from the bottom of the mountain.

"Hahaha……"

Sun Wukong let out a long roar towards the sky, his voice echoing through the clouds. The emotions that had been suppressed for five hundred years were completely released at this moment.

He stretched his muscles and shook off the dust on his body. His golden monkey hair regained its luster and his eyes became extremely sharp.

"Thank you for the rescue, Master!"

"Amitabha, you and my Buddha are predestined, and your escape this time is also God's will."

"I, Old Sun, have been suppressed for five hundred years and have been suffocated for a long time. Now that I have escaped, I want to stretch my muscles."

"Now that you have escaped, why don't you travel west with me?"

"Well, since I have nowhere to go, I will accompany you."

So, Sun Wukong became Tang Seng's disciple, and the two of them set out on the journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures.

After that, the two met Xiaobailong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Monk and set off on the journey together.

After experiencing many hardships, the relationship between the four masters and apprentices became deeper and deeper. They supported each other and were happy to defeat demons and monsters along the way.

Until a fake Wukong appeared and broke everything.

In order to find out who is the real Wukong, Sun Wukong and the fake Wukong searched all the gods and Buddhas in the heavens, and finally got the answer when they came before Tathagata in the West.

"What did you say? He is the fake one!"

The moment he was covered by the golden bowl, Sun Wukong realized that he had been deceived, but it was too late. He was taken into the bowl by Tathagata.

After Sun Wukong was put into the bowl, he felt a darkness before his eyes and a powerful force imprisoned him, making him unable to move.

He struggled hard, but to no avail, and could not help but roar:

"Tathagata! What do you mean by this!"

There was silence in the bowl, with only the angry roar of Sun Wukong echoing.

Tathagata turned the bowl upside down and sealed Sun Wukong, then reached out and pasted a golden talisman on it, and the six-word mantra shone with golden light.

After doing all this, Tathagata looked calm. He just put away the golden bowl and asked his disciples to take it away and take good care of it to make sure the monkey head did not escape.

Tang Seng and his disciples knew nothing about this matter. They thought that everything was resolved, so they continued their journey to the West with the fake Monkey King transformed by the Six-Eared Macaque.

Along the way, the fake Monkey King pretended to walk in front to explore the way, looking back at Tang Seng from time to time, with a playful smile in his heart.

At the same time, inside the golden bowl, the space was cramped and Sun Wukong was imprisoned by Tathagata's magic power, unable to move at all.

He was furious, his eyes were wide open, and his golden hair stood up like steel needles.

He tried his best to break free from the golden bowl, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree, and it didn't move at all.

"Damn Tathagata!"

After repeated attempts all ended in failure, Sun Wukong's anger gradually subsided, replaced by a deep sense of powerlessness.

He sat dejectedly on the ground, with his golden cudgel hanging limply to the side, making crisp clashing sounds.

"I, Old Sun, have fallen into the hands of this bald donkey again..."

He muttered to himself, his tone full of unwillingness.

After an unknown amount of time, Sun Wukong finally calmed down:
"Why does Tathagata treat me like this?"

He began to think about Tathagata's purpose.

He repeatedly thought about everything that had happened before, from the havoc in Heaven to the journey to the West, to being trapped in the golden bowl now. Scenes flashed through his mind like a kaleidoscope.

He remembered the five hundred years he was pressed under the Five Finger Mountain, the appearance of Monk Tang, and the various hardships he encountered on his journey to the West.

He clenched his fists and his eyes flickered.

"Could it be that... all this was arranged by Tathagata?"
