My chat group is full of female losers

Chapter 335 Clues to Tian Shu

Chapter 335 Clues to Tian Shu

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Chu Lu imprisoned Yun Que in the deepest part of the imperial prison and interrogated him personally.

Because Yun Que was already heartbroken and her mental defenses had completely collapsed, the interrogation went extremely smoothly. Chu Lu didn't have to exert much effort to extract all the information she knew.

However, Yun Que was just a native of the instance who was bewitched by the female protagonist's halo. Chang Hong would not tell her about the female protagonists, so she didn't know much. She basically only knew the background story and settings of Chang Hong's storyline.

However, Chu Lu didn't care. After all, she had already obtained the correction points, which meant she had completely given up on harming herself. Continuing to hunt down a loser who was no longer a threat would be a waste of time and energy.

He returned to his palace alone, lay on his bed, and checked the current correction value once again.

Eighty o'clock.

The increase wasn't significant. After all, his current base value was already quite high, making every subsequent increase extremely difficult.

Chu Lu closed the chat group interface and asked in his mind, "Qin Su, with my current modifiers, besides Minister Fei Wu, which other female protagonists in this dungeon are I unable to deal with and need to deliberately avoid?"

Qin Su answered crisply, "No."

Chu Lu was taken aback upon hearing this, somewhat surprised: "That's all? Really? I remember you mentioned before that there's a third princess in the female lead stories, and you need a very high cultivation level to deal with her, right?"

“That’s right,” Qin Su explained, “but she only needs eighty points.”

Chu Lu blinked and said, "So... I just happen to be able to deal with her?"

"Yes. At this stage, unless Fei Wu takes action herself, no other female protagonist can match you."

"Is that so..." A hint of surprise flashed across Chu Lu's eyes. He hadn't expected his modifier value to be so strong.

"So, the only thing I need to worry about now is how to find that guy named Tian Shu?" Chu Lu asked.

"Exactly."

"That's good." Chu Lu nodded. "Hopefully, Huo Qi's investigation will proceed more quickly after this chaos ends."

The next day, in the Imperial Study.

Chu Lu fiddled with the memorials, putting on an air of diligence and love for the people.

Just then, a palace attendant respectfully announced from outside the hall: "Your Majesty, Huo Qi, the commander of the Imperial Guards, requests an audience."

Chu Lu raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself that this guy was quite bold, daring to come to his door again so soon. Curious about what Huo Qi wanted to do, he said in a deep voice, "Let him in."

A moment later, Huo Qi entered. He walked to the imperial desk and knelt down without hesitation: "This humble general Huo Qi pays his respects to Your Majesty."

Chu Lu glanced at him and said, "Get up."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Huo Qi stood up, but bowed even lower, not daring to look up at Chu Lu's face.

"Get to the point," Chu Lu asked.

Huo Qi spoke slowly, each word heavy with the weight of regret that had been steeped in for a day and a night: "Your Majesty, this humble general has come to apologize again for the foolishness of last night. I was confused and almost committed a heinous crime, for which I deserve to die a thousand deaths!" Chu Lu frowned upon hearing this and said, "I have already made myself perfectly clear about what happened last night. If you have come here specifically to repeat it, then you may return."

Upon hearing this, Huo Qi felt as if he had received an immense favor, and kowtowed again with a loud thud: "Thank you for your magnanimity, Your Majesty!"

After kowtowing, he raised his face, his expression instantly becoming serious: "Your Majesty, I have come here today with another matter to report."

"speak."

"You previously sent me to secretly investigate the source of the rumors circulating in the army," Huo Qi's tone revealed an eagerness to make amends, "and now, I've finally made some progress!"

Chu Lu's previously languid posture instantly straightened, and he immediately pressed, "Explain yourself!"

Huo Qi immediately recounted the whole story: "Our men have been keeping an eye on things for a long time and found something suspicious about a teahouse in the south of the city. The owner was acting suspiciously, secretly contacting all sorts of shady characters all day long. I sent people to investigate him and found that there was indeed something wrong with him. He said he was from out of town, but we couldn't find out where he got the money to open the teahouse."

"Very good." Chu Lu nodded approvingly, then seemed to remember something and asked in confusion, "But how come there are results all of a sudden? Didn't you say before that the situation was chaotic and difficult to advance?"

Huo Qi's expression immediately became flustered. He lowered his head and remained silent.

Seeing his expression, Chu Lu immediately understood.

—This guy deliberately suppressed the news.

After all, Huo Qi had been complaining for some time that Chu Lu was neglecting his duties, focusing solely on capturing the elusive mastermind behind the scenes while ignoring the imminent battle. Naturally, he didn't want to tell Chu Lu about this, lest Chu Lu obtain the clues and do something even more absurd.

Chu Lu understood, but he was too lazy to delve into it. He simply waved his hand and said, "Never mind, none of that matters. Go over there now and secretly arrest that shopkeeper. I want to interrogate him personally."

"Yes!" Huo Qi accepted the order without hesitation and immediately got up and left.

Before long, the shopkeeper was taken to a private cell in the imperial prison.

Chu Lu came over to interrogate him personally. The shopkeeper was not a tough guy to begin with; he had already wet himself several times on the way to be captured. When he saw Chu Lu and learned of his identity, he was so frightened that he almost lost his mind and his legs went weak.

Chu Lu didn't even need to use any threatening methods. He just asked a few questions, and the other party spilled everything he knew like beans from a bamboo tube.

"I am indeed hired to deliver messages for a... a very secretive organization! But I'm really just a gofer, nobody cares!"
"I know nothing about their real names or their grand plans! I only know my contact's code name and a few fixed meeting points. They keep saying the information is extremely important, but nobody's willing to tell me the specifics!"

"However, I have a regular contact person who comes to my teahouse every seven days. He is a strong man with a scar on his face! Every word of this is true, not a single word is false."

After listening, Chu Lu made up his mind. He stared at the shopkeeper and said, "Those people are traitors and rebels. If you work for them, you're committing a crime punishable by the extermination of your entire family, do you understand?!"

Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper nearly fainted. Trembling, he cried out repeatedly, "Your Majesty, please forgive me! Your Majesty, please forgive me! I didn't know! I really didn't know!"

"Alright, alright. I know you didn't mean it," Chu Lu waved his hand and said, "So I'm giving you a chance to redeem yourself. You continue running your shop as usual, and the next time you meet him, do as usual, don't give anything away, understand?"

The shopkeeper dared not disobey and nodded repeatedly.

Chu Lu then turned to Huo Qi beside him and ordered, "You personally lead a group to ambush them. When they meet again, make sure to capture the contact person. Remember, he must be alive."

Huo Qi's face was full of determination, and he clasped his hands in a deep fist salute: "Your Majesty, rest assured, this humble general will do his utmost!"
