Super Bowl Domination
Chapter 1215 Waiting for a Miracle
Chapter 1215 Waiting for a Miracle
Joking aside, laughter aside, the problem still remains before us.
Dr. Sloane took a deep breath—
From a legal perspective, Felix is a minor. Although he is mature and understands all the ways of the world, he is not an adult. Therefore, the doctor needs to communicate directly with the guardian, and then the guardian will decide whether to inform Felix of the specific situation.
It was clear that Karen wanted to continue hiding this from Felix; but Felix wanted to know the truth.
But Dr. Sloan couldn't say that, not even if Levi endorsed Felix.
Dr. Sloane let out a long breath.
"In real life, there are many, many - and I mean many - patients who are seriously ill and on the verge of death, but suddenly recover for no apparent reason."
"We call this a miracle."
"Felix, from the first moment we met, I realized that you are special. You have a special energy. Maybe you are the one who will write the miracle."
"We've been through this twice. Twice now."
"I won't tell you how it is, but I have faith. You do too, right?"
Levi felt uncomfortable and turned his head to look towards the corner of the room in a somewhat embarrassed manner.
Felix looked at Dr. Sloane quietly, "Just like the Kansas Chief, right?"
Dr. Sloan nodded repeatedly. "Yes, just like the Kansas City Chiefs, just like the professor. In the 2017 season, no one believed that we could win. We almost lost the first game against the Tennessee Titans, but we won. Not only did we win, but we kept winning."
"It was the same thing last year. No one believed we could win the Super Bowl again. People were fed up. We were behind again and again, but we gritted our teeth and found a way to turn it around."
“It’s not because we are better, but because we always have a belief.”
When Levi heard his name, he quickly calmed down, looked at Felix, smiled, and swallowed the bitter taste in his mouth.
Felix looked at Levi, his lips curled up, "It's the same this year, right? They haven't been optimistic about us since the preseason, and they're hoping we'll lose soon, but we've forced everyone to hold back until now. We just like the way they want to see us lose but can't satisfy us."
"Haha."
Felix is a sensitive child who has experienced too much pain since he was a child. He captures the atmosphere around him more keenly than anyone else.
Just like right in front of me.
Although Levi concealed it well, Felix still caught the bitterness and struggle in Levi's eyes, and he tried his best to raise the corners of his mouth, but he still inadvertently revealed some truth.
However, it's like rugby.
The game was tense and lives were hanging by a thread. The coaching staff and fans standing on the sidelines almost had their hearts stopping; but the players standing on the court were fully focused and giving it their all. They had no time to be nervous or afraid.
Now, the positions are reversed—
Standing on the "court" is Felix, and standing outside the "court" is Levi.
Even though Levi tried to help, even though Levi was by his side, this was Felix's battle, and he had to face the storm alone.
Felix looked at Levi quietly, then smiled widely.
"Just like Anne, even if the outcome of the battle was already determined, we still held our heads high and fought to the last moment, just like the chief, right?"
The clouds are light and the breeze is gentle, yet they are as heavy as a thousand pounds.
In an instant, Levi was defeated because of Felix's smile. This was Felix, always like this, always smiling, always positive and optimistic, always sunny, as if he had endless energy.
But Levi knew that this was an illusion.
Behind those smiles, Felix faces unimaginable pain and torture, and a life journey that could end at any time.
Looking at Felix's blooming smile, Levi remembered last winter when Felix came to his doorstep to deliver a jersey but fell into trouble due to a sudden physical condition. That was the first time Levi saw Felix so broken and falling apart.
He curled up into a ball, muttering over and over, "Don't tell Mom, don't tell Mom," with tears streaming down his face and he was almost fainting from the pain.
Death has never been so clear.
However, Felix did not leave, and Death found Anne first.
Now, Felix must carry on and fight for Anne's dream.
The smile on Levi's lips could hardly be maintained. He had never been so embarrassed, so small and so helpless.
Felix caught it keenly. He just stared at Levi, and the stars and the sea in his bright eyes were shining with a layer of ripples.
Then, he repeated, "Right?"
Levi nodded solemnly, "Yes. Just like the Chieftain."
Silently, Levi straightened his back. Perhaps others did not know what they were carrying, but he knew that it was not only the lives of Anne and Felix, but also the dawn of hope that was finally ignited in Kansas City. He always kept this in mind and never forgot it.
They will fight to the end.
Felix looked at Sloane, "Doctor, let's create a miracle together!"
Sloan looked a little embarrassed under Felix's gaze. He nodded silently and tried to say something, but he couldn't find the right words. In the end, he just nodded again and tried to force a smile.
After completing the inspection, Sloan stood up and left. When passing by Levi, he looked at him more and tried to say something or do something, but found that it was not professional enough. In the end, he gave up everything, just looked at Levi deeply, showed a smile, and then walked away.
In the ward, Levi and Felix were the only ones left again.
The air is slightly cool.
Although they were excited, the deeper meaning behind Dr. Sloan's words was obvious. They were no longer children, and they could understand the heaviness that had never been said and could not be expressed.
Even though Dr. Sloan didn't answer their questions, it seemed that there was no need to answer them now.
They need a miracle.
Felix exhaled lightly, looked at Levi, and pulled the corners of his mouth again, "I've never seen you so embarrassed, I'm a little disappointed."
Levi didn't mind and spread his hands, "Now you finally understand, right? The so-called idol is actually an illusion created in your mind. I am just an ordinary person who works for the team for money."
Felix's eyes widened and he couldn't help but burst into laughter again.
Levi looked calm and focused on Felix. "Felix, remember, I am just an ordinary person who gets scared, angry, nervous, and makes mistakes, just like you. So, if I can do it, you can do it too."
"No, that's not right. In fact, what you can do, I may not be able to do. So, no matter what difficulties we face, how about we face them together?"
