Chapter 1410 Friendly Reminder
Chapter 1410 Friendly Reminder
Looking at Levi who was laughing heartily in front of her, Talia realized that they were too close, so close that the girl began to feel shy.
After slightly distanced herself from him, Talia was a little slow to notice a detail. Levi opened his arms to avoid his arms or palms touching Talia. This gesture showed he was a gentleman, which made Talia's cheeks slightly hot.
Looking up at Levi again, into those frank and sincere eyes, with a hint of fatigue between their brows, Talia asked distressedly.
"Are you ok?"
Levi was stunned, but still smiled, "I'm fine."
Taliyah shook her head. "You know what I mean. You may not be injured, but what about your mental state? I can't imagine the stress you're under."
A perfect season, only one step away from completing the double historical record of three consecutive championships with an undefeated season record. Add to that Felix's dream, and everything is piled on Levi's shoulders -
The last step is often the most difficult one.
Levi laughed dumbly, "No."
Talia: ?
Levi shook his head gently, "No need, I hope you will never know such pressure, no need to imagine or worry, just enjoy performing."
"Everything starts out simple and happy, but as time goes on, things gradually become complicated, and finally, we are swept into the torrent of life."
Levi did not respond directly to Talia.
Talia chewed on Levi's words carefully, "So you regret it?"
Levi didn't expect such a question. Did he regret it?
The initial beginning was just because of the system, which may be the key to changing life and destiny. Stepping onto the rugby field ignorantly
When did things start to go off track?
Those frustrated people in the Old Oak Tavern, walking alone in the endless dark night of unemployment, pin their only hope in life on the Kansas Chief.
Or it was Anne Galas and Felix Gray, those children who were suffering from illness, who faced a battle whose outcome was already determined, and who were unyielding and marched forward to challenge death, allowing their lives to bloom with brilliant colors.
Or maybe it was Mahomes, Kelce, Hill and other teammates who fought side by side, facing numerous difficulties but always united and refused to surrender.
Maybe it's both, maybe it's maybe it's just because at some point he truly fell in love with this sport, which is full of wisdom and power, full of challenges and limits, and then he fell in love with this city and these people.
Things have long been different.
Indeed, they are now facing tremendous pressure, they are now exhausted and burned out, and they now don’t know how much energy is left in their bodies.
But does he regret it?
"No," Levi said.
As soon as he finished speaking, a self-deprecating smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, "This sounds very stupid."
Talia laughed too, "But you still don't regret it."
Levi nodded, "Yeah."
It was an understatement, but there was a determination emanating from him that made Talia unable to take her eyes away.
Levi thought about it seriously, "Because all this makes me believe that dreams are meaningful. Maybe it can be realized or maybe not, but it can ignite a ray of light in the endless darkness and guide us to move forward. It makes life bearable and gives life weight and color."
"The pressure is terrible and painful, but we are not alone in this battle."
"We have Arrowhead Stadium, we have Kansas City, we have Annie and Felix, I'm not alone."
Talia looked at Levi quietly, without saying a word, just watching quietly.
That look was so focused and persistent that Levi even stopped for a moment and looked back at Talia.
Finally, Talia spoke, "And me."
Levi was stunned, and the corners of his mouth rose slightly. Talia seemed dissatisfied with Levi's response, and she emphasized again, "And me."
Levi laughed dumbly. He thought for a moment and said, "Talia, at some point in our lives, regardless of age, anyone may go through such a stage. We mistake admiration or attachment for love and believe in forever. We believe that such feelings can last forever, but this is just an illusion."
Talia didn't back down. She shook her head. "I don't believe in forever."
Levi hadn't expected it.
Talia shrugged lightly. "It seems that there is indeed a generation gap between us, Grandpa. Young people nowadays don't believe in forever. There is no such thing as forever in this world."
Levi just laughed out loud.
Talia continued, "It is precisely because I do not believe in forever that I firmly grasp the present moment and cherish every moment that is happening. I do not look back or hesitate, but love boldly, take risks boldly, and run boldly. Even if it will inevitably disappear in the end, at least I have bloomed brilliantly."
“I will be thankful that I had it, instead of regretting that it is gone.”
Talia looked at Levi with unprecedented concentration and seriousness.
"I know you think I'm still young and this is just a phase, mistaking an other emotion for love, but, Levi."
Pause.
"You can't deny that you've been moved. I saw hesitation and wavering in your eyes. I know you like me, but you just don't dare to admit it."
Levi tried to ease up.
However, in a rare move, Talia intercepted Levi.
"But it doesn't matter. I have time. After all, Grandpa, I'm still young, right?"
"I can wait, waiting for you to face your feelings; you should also wait to see whether my feelings are just a whim or true love."
"Maybe, then, you won't continue to be a coward."
Then, Talia took a small step forward, stood on tiptoe, approached Levi, exhaled gently, and raised the corners of her mouth.
"Just a friendly reminder, my birthday is August 17th. Then you won't have any excuses."
After saying that, looking at Levi's face full of surprise, Talia quickly kissed Levi on the cheek.
Levi was caught off guard and was startled.
Talia had already turned and ran away, cheering as she trotted along. Then she turned around and looked at Levi, laughing heartily, revealing a row of neat white teeth and pointed ears hidden in her hair like an elf. "I just stamped it. That's my brand."
Then, without waiting for Levi's response, Talia turned around and jumped away. The corridor was filled with the girl's young, immature but cheerful and happy singing.
"He's here, he's there, he's everywhere, he's the edgewalker, Levi Levi Levi."
The singing echoed and swirled in the corridor.
Even someone as smart as Levi was stunned by what he saw. He stood there, unable to react for a while until a commotion broke out.
Crash.
Kelce, Mahomes, Hill, Jones and a bunch of others tumbled out of the storage room like beans pouring out of a bamboo tube.
Mahomes was squeezed to the front and saw Levi as soon as he looked up. He stood up in panic and covered his eyes with his hands, "I didn't hear anything."
"Oh, no." Switch covered his ears with his hands. "I didn't hear anything. Really."
