Super Bowl Domination

Chapter 19 Team Warm-up

Chapter 19 Team Warm-up
Spring training camp is over.

Or rather, it is about to end.

Three weeks passed in a flash. Switching back and forth between study and training, every day was extremely fulfilling. Time slipped through our fingers inadvertently, and before we had time to react, the training camp had come to an end.

Today, the team match is about to begin, with the main players facing off against the substitutes.

Then we will summarize the gains and losses of the practice match. Next Sunday, there will be the long-awaited warm-up match, which will officially put an end to the training camp.

Although it was an internal training match, the standard and treatment were no different from those of an official match. Just like on a match day, the entire town came out in full force to welcome the match with a carnival party attitude, and even more happily—

After all, this is an intra-team competition, and everyone is responsible. Rather than winning or losing, the residents are more looking forward to seeing their children step onto the field.

and so.

This is a party, with beer, popcorn, trumpets, jerseys and cheering sticks. The town was already in a crazy atmosphere.

"Strive! Strive! Strive!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we will be crowned!
Aim for victory and move forward at full speed!
You are the pride of Dexie football, the Crimson Tide, let the tide roar! Roar! "

The singing hovered over the Bryant-Denny Stadium, and the power of thousands of people singing in chorus surged in the air, creating one heat wave after another.

incredible--

Is this really just an intra-team practice match?
Standing next to the stadium, looking up and scanning the entire field, it is packed with no end in sight. Faces filled with happiness and excitement are waving all kinds of cheering items vigorously, and the all-red jerseys turn into a red tide.

This is the power of home court.

I can't help but feel my heart pounding and my blood boiling.

The game hasn't even started yet, but one can already feel the heat wave. Quietly becoming an insignificant figure among the spectators, one then makes his or her own voice, gathering into the momentum of the stadium.

In fact, a practice match was just a practice match after all, and the stadium was not completely full. About 70,000 people sat in the 100,000 seats, but the view was still blocked, and the air also became crowded.

"For us, this is the beginning of the season and the beginning of a new year. No matter what the results of last season were, they are all in the past; no matter what real life is like, we will start a new chapter from here."

The voice came from Clark.

Levi turned his head and looked over, "We?"

Clark grinned, "Yes, we are. I am also a member of the Crimson Tide." Players and spectators are the same.

Then Clark jumped up lightly, "The game is about to start, see you on the court."

Clark couldn't hold back his excitement and trotted onto the court. Although this was not an official game, or even a warm-up match, it was still the first time Clark had ever played in a game with spectators on behalf of the Crimson Tide.

Last year, Clark was only the fifth substitute, and even in the team's training games, it was not his turn to play. But this year is different. He can finally represent the team and play as a main player.

Today, in the "main team vs. substitute" game, Jacobs and Clark served as running backs for the main team, while Levi, who has only been on the football field for three weeks, and three-star high school student BJ-Emmons, who is the sixth substitute, served as running backs for the substitute team.

Clark is very happy. He has been in an excited state since Shaban announced the list. He is cheerful like a fool every day. For him, it doesn't matter even if he serves as a running back for the substitute team, as long as he can appear on the field wearing the Crimson Tide jersey.

"Look!"

"That's my son, oh my God, that's really Ronnie!"

"He looks so small."

"Haha, hahaha."

"It's him, it's him, number 44." In the stands, Tyree Clark couldn't hide his excitement and shouted to everyone around him, fearing that others would not see his little son who was like a stick figure on the court.

A stadium with a capacity of 100,000 people is really too big. Looking down from the stands, it is really only the size of a matchstick.

Danny Clark rolled his eyes speechlessly, hunched his shoulders and slowly slid down. As if that wasn't embarrassing enough, his father shouted everywhere that it was just a practice match and there was really no need to make such a fuss.

Terry didn't care.

"Ronnie!"

"Hey, Ronnie!"

A person shouted at the stadium like a fool. He didn't care even if his voice was drowned out by the shouts of the whole stadium. He just kept shouting.

Then, the game began——

The main force takes the lead in attacking.

Substitute, defense begins.

Because it was a practice match, no coaches were assigned to arrange tactics for both the main players and the substitutes, and it was all up to the players themselves.

In official matches, it is the head coach's job to arrange tactics before the game, but it is not necessarily the case that he will call out tactics on the spot according to the ever-changing situation.

In most teams, the head coach calls the tactics, but they are also responsible for one type of offensive or defensive tactics based on their own strengths. There is almost no head coach who is responsible for calling both offensive and defensive tactics at the same time.

Because the team also has dedicated offensive coaches and defensive coaches, they are responsible for assisting the head coach and completing on-site tactical calls.

There are also a small number of teams where the head coach is not responsible for calling tactics on the spot, and the offensive and defensive coaches are responsible for their respective duties.

The core reason is that the tactics are complicated and the playing field is changing rapidly. Just like in a war, there are different talents under the generals.

Today, Shaban will not call tactics, which will test the players' understanding and ability to use tactics, and more importantly, the results of the spring training camp.

The main team's first wave of attack was unsuccessful, they only got one first attack, and then faced the pressure from the defense in the frontcourt and were helpless.

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide has a strong offense, but an even stronger defense. Head coach Shaban himself was a defensive back, that is, a safety/cornerback, when he was a player, and he has always had his own understanding of defense.

And attack?
Shaban is not a coach who is good at coaching quarterbacks, so he relies heavily on Burns to open up the situation through ground offense, and then open up the entire offensive routine. The tactics are solid and mainly practical.

It is no wonder that since 2007, the University of Alabama has achieved such brilliant results but has never produced a quarterback worth mentioning. Instead, there has been a steady supply of talents at the running back position; of course, this is even more true for the defensive team.

Right off the bat, the reserve team's defense gave the young Hurts a good lesson.

Scrums and practices, although similar, are very different in intensity.

This rookie, who has not yet graduated from high school, is still a little immature after only going through the spring training camp and has not fully adapted to the intensity of the NCAA.

Unable to find a passing target in the fully blocked short pass area, he panicked and was unable to accurately interpret the defensive layout to find an opportunity to pass the ball.

As a result, the pass was released too slowly, causing their offensive line to be under tremendous pressure and to be torn apart repeatedly, which in turn gave the defensive team, who were exerting increasingly fierce pressure in the frontcourt, an opportunity to attack. In the end, all three offensive gears failed.

Helplessly, on fourth down, the main team could not force a kick and could only choose to punt.

what does this mean?
The ball came to the substitute team, and Levi, along with his teammates from the substitute team, came on the court.
