Chapter 44 Don’t Compare Yourself with Those Who Cheat

"Strange, is there a ghost in the library?"

"Gryffindors blew up the library?"

"Madame Pince has made the rare decision to take a day off?"

When Andrew returned to the dormitory, the remaining three people in the dormitory opened their mouths wide.

"As for it?"

Andrew rolled his eyes in response to his roommate, then began to search for a bag of preserves from the few remaining snacks.

"Of course as for - we've always felt that if Madam Pince allowed you to build a bed in the library, you might not return to your dormitories."

Kevin responded with a smile on his face as he ate one of Bell's knights.

"At least the seniors said that the library is our third dormitory, so don't think it's weird to go to the library."

Andrew complained about his roommate while checking the remaining effects of the Transfiguration spell on the objects in the box. He took out his notebook and started recording. "Where's Hal?"

"I heard there was new news, so he went to inquire."

"New news?"

"Yes, that Harry Potter was said to have been admitted as an exception. Professor McGonagall even used the funds of the academy to buy him a Nimbus 2000."

"what?"

Andrew stopped what he was doing and opened his mouth wide, "Nimbus 2000?"

"Yes, the new Broomstick is the Seeker for the House Team." Bell was sure that he could not gain an advantage, so he put away the chess piece and began to admit defeat, ignoring the soldier who was scolding him. "And no Gryffindor raised any questions."

"Think positively. You can't compare yourself to the legend in the textbooks." Andrew threw the snacks around - although no one would be polite if he didn't throw them. "Practice well. Since you can't catch the ball with one hand like him, then wait until the second grade recruits normally."

"That's all I can do... But you really won't come to train?"

"Forget it... You know, I'm more interested in Transfiguration." Andrew shook his head. "Hughes, do you want to play cards?"

"Wait a minute, I'll finish transcribing this history of goblin rebellion. It will be quick, about two minutes."

Hughes looked up from his desk, responded, and began copying again.

"You should get an automatic transcribing quill, man. I heard from the seniors that it's very useful!"

Kevin responded to him while searching for the Thunderbolt Explosion cards, muttering to Andrew, "How despicable of you to drag us to play cards after going to the library. That's really despicable."

"Then let's go to the library together this afternoon?"

Andrew smiled.

"Forget it, I can't do that. How can Ravenclaw have someone like you?" Kevin shook his head. "Going to the library twice a week is the limit for me. I prefer to actually apply all kinds of spells, rather than looking for long and boring explanations of principles in those books..."

"You'll be trampled on the chest by a bull sooner or later if you keep doing this," Bell stuffed the last mumbling knight in and put away the chessboard, "especially those spells that are popular among students. God knows what will happen if you make a mistake."

"If it can be passed down, it means it is very safe. I have just finished researching the leg-locking spell. Are you interested? I will give you a homework in exchange for the spell. I am selling it at a friendly price."

The price was very reasonable, and Kevin's work was quickly taken up.

So a few people began to prepare mats in a mess, and then started playing cards.

About six or seven minutes later, a depressed Hughes became the subject of the spell experiment, "Did you three remember the cards again?"

"Nothing."

The answer was in unison. "Don't worry, I've even solved the curse."

Kevin was very happy, "I took the risk of doing my homework, it's really fair!"

+ + + +
The spell teaching was very successful, and today was still a day where no roommate was sent to the hospital.

When Hal came back after trying to gather information, the group had already happily played several games - Hughes was having a great time killing people in great numbers, while Andrew and Bell had notes stuck all over their faces.

"Well done, Hughes—but Andrew, you're back so early?"

???

What do you mean?
Andrew rolled his eyes, "Of course, because there is no cafeteria in the library."

"That makes sense. I'll write it down for you in the suggestion book," Hal said happily. "You'll never guess what happened in the castle."

Perhaps because he wanted to talk too much, Hal announced the answer before anyone else started guessing, "That Miss Granger, the one you all know, beat up several Ravenclaw students!"

???

Andrew widened his eyes and said, "No, which department are you from? There's a traitor in our department!"
Why do you look so proud? Are you an undercover agent of Gryffindor?
"It's the ones that deceive people... you know..."

Perhaps because the looks in everyone's eyes were too outrageous, Hal took the initiative to explain, and everyone was relieved - those people really fought well.

Faking the appearance of herbs, faking amulets, faking potions, just slightly changing the mode will create a new routine. It seems that these people treat the school as an experimental field and are willing to practice even if it means losing money.

Although if you are caught, all your belongings will be confiscated and you will be put in solitary confinement, you can't stop them, and this is not enough to get you fired. Anyway, it's a headache...especially if you can run fast and are familiar with secret passages, plus the magic disguise and the occasional polyjuice potion, which makes it even more difficult.

"I don't know who provoked her. It seems that she started targeting us after being reprimanded by the class leader. The freshman period was chaotic, so she found a lot of us. Then she called the class leader to deal with us.

"Of course, seniors can't fight, but it's okay for juniors to clash, and then--"

Hal spread his hands. "First-year students are naturally taught a lesson by a bunch of curses."

"Serves them right. Those guys who got together are all more disgusting than each other."

"Indeed, and how dare they fight against a top Defence Against the Dark Arts student with a wand? Even if the opponent is a first-year student..."

"He's the best in every subject. There's no comparison. There's no comparison."

"Andrew?"

"how?"

"Don't you want to say anything?"

"What can I say?"

Andrew spread his hands and leaned back in his chair. "The enrollment scope of the college is too diverse. If I were there, I would definitely have to help the students from other colleges deal with the students of our own college... It's outrageous."

"Look at the bright side. At least we don't need to change dormitories because of that reason... We have different interests but no conflicts. Isn't that enough?"

"Indeed, we can't demand too much."

Andrew shook his head. “Let’s go and have dinner.”

The effect of this spell was quite amazing, except that Hal looked sad. "Don't worry, I still have the first-hand record of Harry Potter's Quidditch trials."

"We said it at the dinner table. We said it at the dinner table."

Everyone started to rush towards the cafeteria in a noisy manner.
