Chapter 80 Final Review
"I'm beginning to doubt whether I really did anything to Peeves, Minerva."

Dumbledore was reviewing the documents in front of him while joking with Professor McGonagall - the desire to complain about the reading notes made the work less boring.

"I'm not going to give it any more privileges."

Professor McGonagall said with some helplessness and amusement, "Five prefects were chased by Peeves, howling all the way, and even a number of junior students were dragged into it. It was a mess, and only Percy was relatively calm."

"That's not necessarily the case, Minerva. Gryffindor has nothing to do with the word stable," the mural behind the desk interjected.

These words coming from an unknown headmaster were surprisingly convincing. Professor McGonagall sighed and didn't even want to refute them, because the headmaster was from Gryffindor.

"Look at it from a bright side. If the school doesn't take action to drive it away, Peeves won't be so scary that it's impossible to deal with it, right?"

There was a low laugh from the portraits, and only the portrait of Professor Eupraxia Moore suddenly disappeared.

"Oh, poor Maul, she failed in her challenge to conquer the elves."

Instead of sympathizing, the other principals laughed even louder - the topic of expelling Peeves was not something that would be brought up in daily life, and it finally came up naturally, so they had to hurry up.

"But there shouldn't be a major explosion, right?"

"No, the prefects are not considered school personnel, so it does not violate the agreement—" Dumbledore had not yet spoken when another headmaster added cheerfully, "Besides, after that failed attempt, we basically regard Peeves as the ultimate defense measure in the school, but it is too dangerous to use."

"Compared to those statues, Peeves's maintenance costs are much lower. He only needs a swim once a week, a hat that he has lost somewhere, and some moldy bread. It's almost as if he doesn't have any money."

Any protective device requires expensive maintenance, and reloading after use would be despairing - Professor McGonagall has been well aware of this since she took over the school's finances. Her biggest complaint now is that so many Galleons have been thrown out, but those expensive stone pillars have never been used once.

Therefore, I still admire the headmaster for recruiting Peeves and Professor McGonagall at a low price.

That kind of fighting power was defeated with just a little bread, which was a perfect use of what the founder left behind. She was not worried about the five unlucky prefects this time, but was afraid that the ultimate defense in the school would give up.

"Don't worry about Peeves. He likes to make trouble. But you said you found an assistant?"

"Yes, I'm still in the probation period, but he's excellent in all aspects - his writing, logic, and ability to handle numbers are all great. He's also determined and has good learning ability. He's a good fit."

"That sounds great - are there any other good candidates? I mean, is he the only candidate?"

Dumbledore asked in a casual tone.

"Impossible, Albus," Professor McGonagall stared at him sharply, "You only need to review documents twice a week."

"Okay, so what's that kid?"

"First year, Ravenclaw student, Andrew Taylor."

There was a sudden noise from the shelf where the Sorting Hat was, causing everyone to look over there.

"I need an assistant too!"

The hat shouted.

The curious headmasters lost interest. They thought there was something wrong with the student, but it turned out to be a routine job of the Sorting Hat. "But what's the point of having an assistant? Sorting is the most important task in the school, and it can't be handed over to others casually. It must be handled by an absolutely reliable and trustworthy partner."

"That's true."

Dumbledore continued his persuasion as usual, but it was particularly effective today. After he finished speaking, the hat began to hum a strange tune to amuse itself.

Even the headmasters on the wall were amazed at Dumbledore's move - as the one with the most scandals and the most seniority in the entire Hogwarts, no one was willing to argue with it, because this hat could remember the dark history that you had forgotten...

Therefore, all the previous principals have been coaxing it a bit. After all, it only needs to be coaxed once a month, which means that it only needs to work overtime at the beginning of the school year.

Professor McGonagall was no exception. She ignored the hat that looked much happier than usual and said to Dumbledore in a negotiating tone, "By the way, Albus, I need to borrow the next installment of Hogsmeade rent that Hagrid is collecting."

"That is not necessary at all, Minerva. I think we can transfer this to your office later. It will be easier to register then."

Dumbledore looked serious.

"No, it only takes this time. The rent for Hogsmeade must be collected by the headmaster himself. This is a must. I will have Andrew send it for registration after the inventory is completed."

Trying to alleviate the embarrassment of not being discovered by the living Dumbledore, he asked back, "Is this the last item of the examination now?"

"Of course, he performed very well, without showing off or slacking off. If he passes in the end, that will be a big help."

-

"The Ravenclaw prefects are still looking up information and hanging out with Filch?"

"Yeah, that's right."

"Just keep an eye on it. We all have the same idea. Gryffindor has shown us the truth of the story."

Everyone burst into laughter. Although Hufflepuff had the most students implicated due to their numbers, this did not affect everyone's laughter at all.

"They still dare to test it - now they must have a lot of first-hand information, and I think the others will soon react."

"Of course, but we just need to keep an eye on the Ravenclaw prefects - the things left behind by the former prefects are really useful."

The last outstanding prefect left a very good advice to the other prefects before graduation - if you are not absolutely sure, just copy the Ravenclaws.

No one has tried to overturn this statement over the years, and everyone has been keeping an eye on Ravenclaw.

Determine the direction of the Ravenclaw prefect's intervention, and then use the advantage of numbers to basically make no difference - there haven't been many House Cups over the years, but everyone has surprisingly had a good time.

Their Christmas lounge activities this time were all copied from Ravenclaw's, and they've gotten used to it over the years.

"Don't worry, be prepared. We may not have found the key to the treasure after graduation, but it is a good thing to follow the Ravenclaws and find a way for the new Hufflepuffs to explore. If we retreat a little, it is not a bad thing for Ravenclaw to discover it in advance because of the intelligence. Don't worry, have a snack, have a snack!"
