Chapter 31: The fox dies on his own hill, playing with life and death

Chapter 31: The fox dies on his own hill, playing with life and death

The lion turns into a seal to suppress demons and life.

There are many metaphors in Taoist alchemy classics, such as [dragon and tiger], which sometimes represent Kan and Li blood and qi.

Sometimes, the dragon represents the delusion of the heart, and the tiger represents the desire of the liver.

The dragon and the tiger are restless, and the consciousness is jumping violently. For a practitioner, this is the most terrifying situation, and the night is about to begin.

Therefore, Taoist practice emphasizes "subduing dragons and taming tigers". At this time, one must "laugh, throw away the scriptures and lie down in seclusion, the dragon returns to the sea and the tiger returns to the mountain". Buddhism calls this "unmoving".

As for how to do it, there are many methods, and one of them is about "lion".

The Seven Explanations of the Daoist Canon says that the lion can subdue all beasts. When the mortal or the saint is preaching, the demons and heretics are coming to attack, and the lion roars, and all the evils are gone, and all the beasts are afraid and subdued.

The demons and heretics mentioned in many Buddhist and Taoist scriptures actually refer to the mind and false thoughts...

A thought suddenly arises, and all kinds of false thoughts fly, just like the devil, the flood and the ferocious beast, the restless consciousness, the bad people practice, until the night is dark. However, the lion is the king of beasts, able to be fearless and brave, and shake off all evil.

Therefore, in Taoism, there are seals such as the [Lion Seal], and in Buddhism, there are also magical powers such as the [Lion's Roar].

Even many gods and bodhisattvas ride lions.

For example, the [Lion Seal] was derived from the mount of [Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun]. It was a nine-headed divine lion, whose roar could shock the upper realms and its power could overwhelm the underworld.

In Journey to the West, the nine-headed divine lion secretly escaped to the lower world and transformed into the Nine-Headed Sage... It was also one of the few beings on the journey to the West that was not interested in Tang Monk's flesh. It could be captured with one move, and even the power of the Monkey King would have been useless.

This is also a metaphor. A lion's roar can calm the monkey in his heart.

Because of this, the [Lion Seal] is one of the most basic seals in Taoism, emphasizing strength, ferocity and righteousness.

Rumble…

A violent sound came from the wild grass that looked like fox hair, like a heavy hammer hitting a drum, or a lion's roar. The terrifying sound made He Huan turn pale.

She had also seen the Taoist [Lion Seal], which was just one of many seals and the basic skill of Taoist practice.

However, at this moment, this ordinary seal showed extraordinary power in Zhang Fan's hands.

boom……

At this moment, there was a loud bang, and the strangely entangled weeds were suddenly broken. Zhang Fan took a step forward, formed seals with his hands, and held nine vertical and one.

In such a place where immortals are worshipped, this fox fur coat cannot withstand the fierce and mighty roar of the lion.

"This is impossible... How can the Lion Seal, which is so common everywhere, have such an effect!?"

He Huan's face was grim, blood was flowing from the corner of his mouth, his beautiful eyes were trembling, he could not believe what he saw.

With just a hand seal, and without even learning any magic, he was able to break her [fox fur coat]. You know, here, the power bestowed by the immortals that she can obtain is the strongest and greatest.

Rumble…

Zhang Fan looked indifferent. The lion seal in his hand seemed like a real lion. The Yang energy was strong and vibrated the Qi channels...

Mortals here may not be able to see any clues or even hear any sounds.

But for the cultivators, the roar of the lion became more and more piercing and terrifying. Even the entrance of the desolate cave in the distance could be heard making strange noises...

The fox sang and wailed, full of shock and fear.

"You...who are you?"

At this moment, He Huan panicked. It was the first time that she showed a look of shock and horror in front of Zhang Fan.

She had never seen someone with such great power with just the [Lion Seal]. His calmness could captivate people's hearts, and his lion's roar could suppress demons.

"If you follow the will of others, you will be a human being; if you go against the will of others, you will be an immortal... This inner alchemy method is the most secret of Taoism, the orthodox Xuanmen, and it is extremely domineering. It is the nemesis of demons and evil spirits. If you meet such people in the future, you must stay away from them."

At this moment, He Fei's previous instructions couldn't help but emerge in He Huan's mind. The voice was still in his ears, and gradually overlapped with the figure of Zhang Fan in front of him.

"Taoist top secret, Xuanmen authentic!?"

He Huan's pupils suddenly contracted, as if he had guessed something. At this moment, Zhang Fan had already appeared, like a shadow pressing down on him, bringing with him an unprecedented sense of oppression.

"You...you don't dare to kill me..." He Huan trembled, no longer as wild and arrogant as before.

hum...

Before he finished speaking, Zhang Fan held the lion seal and pointed his finger at He Huan's forehead. The latter straightened her body, rolled her eyes, and fell straight down. Her breathing became gradually weaker, but it did not dissipate, but her vitality was gone.

call……

At this moment, a strange sound was heard from the entrance of a deserted cave not far away, and then a fox as big as a wild wolf rushed out. Its red hair, as white as brocade, gradually dimmed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The fox stared at Zhang Fan intently, its eyes filled with hatred and anger like a human's.

It walked out of the cave, but after just five steps, it collapsed, and its breathing became weak.

"The immortals who come out to worship?" Zhang Fan thought thoughtfully.

This was the first time in his life that he had seen a monster. The look in its eyes just now was indeed intelligent and no longer looked like that of an ordinary animal.

Thinking of this, a fierce look flashed in Zhang Fan's eyes, and the Lion Seal had not yet been released.

hum...

At this moment, an old hand came from behind and grasped Zhang Fan's wrist. The latter instinctively loosened his hands and released the Lion Seal.

"You got into trouble."

Lao Yu's voice sounded faintly. Zhang Fan turned around and saw Wen He following him. His always gentle gaze fell on He Huan who was lying on the ground, and he couldn't help but push up his glasses.

"Fanfan, did you destroy her soul?" Wen He leaned over to check, looking at Zhang Fan with some resentment.

"There's nothing I can do when I meet a pervert. I'm also scared, so I can only fight him to death!"

"Is she okay?" Zhang Fan asked with concern.

"..."

"He can't wake up. Once his soul is broken, he can never wake up again." Old Yu said in a deep voice.

People have three souls and seven spirits. The three souls are hidden in the primordial spirit, and the seven spirits are hidden in the conscious spirit.

The soul is responsible for the mind, and once it is damaged, it will lead to functional disorders. For example, many vegetative patients have their three souls damaged or even lost.

Po governs passion and desire. Once it is damaged, it will affect emotions and feelings. For example, many mental illnesses, such as depression, autism, mania, etc., are actually caused by the damage or loss of Po.

Now it is considered a psychological and mental problem, but in ancient times, one would have to seek help from a Taoist priest or a fortune-teller to call back the soul and look for the spirit.

He Huan's soul was destroyed by Zhang Fan's Lion Seal, and he would never be able to wake up in this lifetime. He could only lie in bed and become a vegetable forever.

"Xiao Zhang, you have practiced the Lion Seal very well." Lao Yu said lightly.

"What should we do now?" Zhang Fan asked.

"Don't panic, Fanfan. This is not your fault." Wen He hurriedly calmed Zhang Fan down. She had also heard about this young lady from the He family. She had indeed done many murderous things in secret.

"Old Yu will take care of it."

Before he finished speaking, Lao Yu had already walked towards the dying fox.

Zhang Fan looked and saw Lao Yu with his back to them. He didn't know what he did, but the fox twitched violently and then died.

The fox was dead, with its head facing the entrance of its cave.

It is said that a fox with intelligence will turn its head towards its own nest even when it dies.

Old Yu turned around, walked up to He Huan, and carried him on his shoulders.

"Xiao Wenhe, let's go."

"Fanfan, go wait for us in the car." Wen He instructed and followed Lao Yu.

Just after taking two steps, Lao Yu suddenly stopped, turned around, grinned, and looked at Zhang Fan meaningfully: "Xiao Zhang, isn't it great to squander your strength and play with life and death?"

"What?" Zhang Fan asked.

"Nothing." Old Yu grinned and chuckled, slowly retracted his gaze, carried He Huan, and took Wen He and disappeared from sight.

At this moment, Zhang Fan let out a long breath.

“It’s really great!!”
