The Demon King is unfathomable

Chapter 273 Sacrifice

Chapter 273 Sacrifice
In the deep night, a bonfire burned slowly on the beach on the northern coast, illuminating the thriving Deadwood Harbor.

Although this is nominally a proper port, there is not a single ship at the dock.

not only that.

There are very few living residents here, except for the half-dead pirates and the undead who have been dead for who knows how long.

However, even so, this shabby port was still unusually lively and did not seem dead at all because it was crowded with dead people.

And the reason for this is all thanks to the open-top tavern built with rotten planks and sails, with a sign hanging on the door that reads "Blackbeard's Barrel".

Although most players who play the role of undead cannot drink, this tavern is not only a place to drink, but also the only NPC store in the entire Janna continent that can quickly exchange the scraps picked up on the battlefield for ghost money... if you don't want to pay the high transmission cost and teleport to other NPC towns with the scraps you picked up.

Currently, this unique tavern is run by the former pirate captain Teach.

After witnessing the might of the Demon King's army, Teach has completely embraced his new faith and bowed down at the feet of the Demon King.

Considering his contribution in helping Lumire complete the teleportation array, Luo Yan did not care about his attempt to attack his merchant ship. He not only forgave him, but also gave him his new job.

Although Titch was not interested in running a bar, he had nothing else to do at the moment, so he obediently agreed.

Besides, the task is easy.

He only needs to dress up as a bar owner, sit behind the bar with his legs crossed, and recite a few lines of dialogue to the undead who come to visit him.

For example, "Hello, I'm Teach from the Empire" and "It would be so cool if I could add magic to bullets."

According to the Demon King, this will increase the sense of immersion for the people of the cemetery.

As for collecting the things, it was done by the bar waiters, and he didn't need to worry about collecting the money.

Also according to the Demon Lord, those "players" use a currency called ghost money, which is invisible most of the time and only needs to be paid in paper form at specific times... such as trading with other NPCs in unofficial occasions.

Teach didn't understand those overly professional terms, let alone comprehend them. He didn't even need to pay for other people's things. In his impression, only pirates did that.

But he soon remembered that his boss was the devil, and he was instantly relieved.

Things that seem incredible on the surface may be normal in a cemetery.

Just when he was yawning out of boredom, another player rushed into the store and threw a bunch of colorful stuff on the bar.

"Quick! Help me see how much these things can be sold for?" An incomprehensible creaking sound came from the skeleton's mouth, and the soul fire in its eyes flashed with excitement.

Although Teach didn't understand what this guy was saying, he was not a robot after all, so he could still understand the common sign language of primates - this guy was here to sell junk.

Although receiving goods was not his job, out of professional habit, he subconsciously glanced at the things on the table.

Except for a gold ring that made him look at it twice, the rest were things he would not want even if they were given to him for free.

20 silver coins, no more.

Teach made an estimate and gave an offer in his mind, which he thought was as low as it could be.

Just as he expected, the most valuable item in the pile of goods was the gold ring...but the price he quoted was still too high compared to the Demon King's bottom line.

The ghoul bartender in charge of receiving the goods stared at the ring for a while, then spoke in a lifeless voice.

"50 ghost money."

"How much?!" The moment he heard the NPC's offer, the soul fire burning in that guy's eyes almost turned into soul rings, and he immediately cursed, "Damn it! This is a rip-off!"

The corpse in charge of receiving the goods did not answer. He just looked like a dead person, quietly looking at the "dead person" standing in front of him, and then glanced at the boss next to him who knew nothing about it.

"It's our boss's order. It's up to you whether you want to sell it or not."

The player cursed a few times, but eventually sold the junk in his hand.

After all, no other players wanted the things he picked up, so he could only sell them to NPCs at a low price.

If you think about it carefully, other games seem to be like this too. The purchase price offered by NPC stores is often not even one-tenth of the selling price.

Thinking of this, he suddenly felt that it was not such a pity, and immediately used the money he earned and some of his own savings to buy a bottle of low-level magic potion from a professional player who was setting up a stall outside the tavern.

What a loyal and good guy... er, what a good undead?

He actually helped the Demon Lord fight at his own expense.

In the empire, only the conscripted soldiers of the lords would do this, and most of them would buy protective gear to save their lives. Few people would use the money earned from the spoils to buy precious potions.

With nothing to do, Teach kept observing the "player" until the latter walked away from the open-air tavern.

However, what he didn't know was that the loyal and good undead not only spent the money he got from the spoils on the Demon King, but also put some of his own money into it.

These are all necessary investments for land reclamation.

It may be difficult for NPCs to understand, but it is common sense for players.

Not far away, the light of the teleportation array flickered, and several lifeless zombies came out carrying a wooden box.

They piled the boxes in the open space near the bar, and at the same time moved the wooden boxes filled with valuable loot to the teleportation array, intending to send them back together later.

The loot in the wooden box was mostly gold or high-value jewelry... such as the gold ring that the corpse in the tavern bought for 50 ghost coins.

As for those amulets with strange functions and odd-looking handicrafts, they were not placed inside, but piled up in the warehouse waiting for the experts from the cemetery to come and select them.

According to Lumire, after studying these things, those experts who are proficient in magic will improve the props that have recycling value, and then sell them back to some "new players".

Teach didn't understand, but he was shocked.

In front of these demons, he felt like a naive rookie, and all the past few years had been wasted.

However, what shocked him the most was not these, but the fact that the Demon King's army was so extravagant as to use a teleportation array to transport goods!
Looking at the wooden boxes piled up in the open space, Teach couldn't help but smacking his lips and said with emotion.

"...You actually use a teleportation array to travel long distances. This is too extravagant."

Lumir replied casually while checking the goods against the list in his hand.

"The magic crystals in Hell are cheaper than those on the surface. Although the cost of teleportation is still high, it is not as expensive as you think... It is barely acceptable."

In fact, it is not just the Demon King's army that uses teleportation arrays to deploy troops. The demons of Hell also often use this method to throw all kinds of troubles into the heart of the human world.

He only found out about this after joining the Demon King's Army.

Looking at Lumir who seemed to know a lot of inside information, Teach asked another question out of curiosity.

“Have you ever been there?”

"No," Lumire shook his head, "but the Demon King told me that I would have a chance to go there."

Teach shook his head, grabbed the wooden cup on the bar, and took a sip of the cheap rum.

"...You are such a weird guy. If it were me, I would rather never have this opportunity in my life."

Lumir glanced at him and said nothing, just smiled faintly.

"So where do you want to go?"

Tikki sighed, looked at the dark night sky, and muttered.

"I haven't thought about it yet. I used to want to make a lot of money and then go back to my hometown to buy back the manor and land I sold before... Of course, that was in the past. Now I don't dare to think that far. Apart from surviving, I have no other ideas."

Lumire asked casually.

"Then why did you sell your land and estate?"

"Of course it's for the Empire, for Saint Sith, and to make more money..."

Tiqi was halfway through his words when he suddenly couldn't continue. He coughed awkwardly to cover up his embarrassment, "Uh...Okay, I admit that I was stupid, but I was young and a jerk at that time. I didn't know that the world outside was so dangerous."

He suddenly realized that he was actually no different from those "players" he laughed at behind their backs.

Those "good undead" paid out of their own pockets to expand the territory for His Majesty the Demon King, and he also emptied the family property of the Emperor and Saint Sith...

Some things, when you look at their essence through phenomena, are always the same thing, just with a different skin.

In comparison, he might even be more pitiful.

After all, those "players" were obviously enjoying themselves, but he harbored a lot of resentment towards Saint Sith and still feels resentful about it.

Lumire did not laugh at him, but just smiled meaningfully, then closed the account book in his hand and patted him on the shoulder.

"It seems that the Empire is not as sacred as you described. I guess Hell is not as bad as you thought... Try your best. Maybe one day the Demon King will fulfill your wish for you."

"Unlike Saint Sith, that Lord will actually respond to the deepest prayers of his followers."

……

The next morning.

The faint light of morning light passed over the peaks of the Stairs of the Sun mountains and sprinkled on the holy lake outside Assam.

The clear lake is calm, reflecting the ancient and majestic capital, just like the unshakable ruling foundation of the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom for thousands of years.

However, unlike in the past, a war report from the north broke the peaceful life in Assam City.

The news was reported up the chain of command and soon reached the Holy King's palace, where it eventually turned into an angry roar that echoed throughout the spacious hall.

"…Idiots! Trash! A bunch of useless things! You can't even do such a small thing properly!"

On the golden throne, Saint King Iz's face was filled with anger, and there was no trace of the calmness he had the day before.

Thirty thousand armored dragon soldiers were completely wiped out!
Since he ascended the Golden Throne, the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom has never suffered such heavy losses!
When he thought of this, he clenched his teeth tightly, wishing he could bite them into pieces and swallow them into his stomach.

"How could a mere group of outsiders defeat my thirty thousand armored dragon soldiers... If that idiot Kuchar has the nerve to come back, I will dig out his eyes and heart with my own hands!"

Hearing the vicious curse, the nobles of the Council of Elders all knelt on the ground, not daring to utter a single breath.

They knew very well that the Saint King was furious at the moment, and any rebuttal might be seen as disrespect to the Dragon God, and would ultimately end up requiring a blood sacrifice to appease the Dragon God's wrath.

Kuchar was most likely dead, and there was no need for them to speak for a dead man.

Cursing alone was not enough. Saint King Iz stood up angrily, and the scales on his body glowed slightly with golden light, as if the will of the Dragon God was burning in his body.

"This bunch of filthy bugs... Since 30,000 armored dragon soldiers are not enough, then use 300,000! Three million!"

"I want to let these foreign races who have extended their dirty hands to the Holy Land know what the consequences will be if they offend the majesty of the Dragon God!"

The angry roar almost blew out the flickering flames in the brazier. The air in the hall was extremely hot due to the Holy King's rage, making the lizardmen's mouths dry.

Just when this violent anger was about to engulf the entire palace, an old yet majestic voice slowly sounded, like a stream of clear spring water, calming the restless atmosphere.

"Your Majesty, please calm down."

At the main entrance of the hall, a figure dressed in a dark priest robe slowly walked out.

He held a dragon bone scepter in his hand. Although he looked old and his scales were dry and cracked, he still exuded a formidable majesty.

This person was none other than Zel Tua, the high priest of the Holy Ankylosaur Kingdom.

As the executor of the Dragon God's will on earth, he is the most prestigious spiritual totem of the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom besides the Holy King. He is also the only one who can persuade the Holy King when he is angry.

After seeing Zel, the furious Izzy calmed down and slowly sat back on the throne.

"Do you have anything to say?"

"…Your Majesty may have realized what I want to say."

Zel slowly raised his head, wisdom and caution flashing in his cloudy eyes.

"This group of outsiders is indeed not simple. They are different from the guys we encountered before. Otherwise, even the great barrier would not have been loosened... Although we have realized this and paid enough attention to it, it is obvious that we still underestimated their threat."

As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere in the hall fell into a brief stagnation. Everyone was silent and just looked at each other.

Most of the nobles and generals were unwilling to admit this. After all, for thousands of years, no foreign enemy had truly threatened their rule.

However, the bloody facts were before them: 30,000 Holy Armored Dragon Soldiers were wiped out overnight. This could not be explained by luck or coincidence.

Glancing around at the nobles and generals present, Zell continued in a low voice.

"Kutchar's defeat was certainly due to underestimation of the enemy, but we have to admit that the means of these outsiders far surpass those ordinary explorers who were stranded on the coast in the past. Not only do they have powerful weapons and strange magic, but they can also cross the barrier of the great barrier through unknown methods and continuously send troops and supplies to our land... These are all things we have never encountered before."

"Humph!" Izzy snorted coldly, obviously dissatisfied with such a statement, "You mean these alien races are stronger than us, and we have to bow down to them?"

"No."

Zell shook his head slowly and continued in a gentle tone.

"Although they are powerful, they are still far behind the Saint Armor Dragon Kingdom's thousands of years of accumulation. I have no doubt that your strength is greater than theirs. However, even so, it is still not wise for us to shoulder the obligation of defending the harmony and stability of the Janna Continent alone."

"Even if we can achieve the final victory with overwhelming force, the conflict with those outsiders will still consume our precious strength, and give those tribes who covet our prosperity an opportunity to take advantage of us."

"I know you are angry at Kuchar's stupidity and pity the Ankylosaur warriors who died in the war, but now is definitely not the best time to avenge them."

"Then how long do we have to wait? Just keep waiting like this?" Izzy stared at him coldly, suppressing his anger. "Do we have to wait until they have completely established a foothold in our land before we take action?"

"I guarantee you, they don't have that opportunity, and we won't wait that long."

Zel continued to shake his head, calming the anger of His Majesty the Holy King, and continued to speak with a shrewd look.

"...The priests of other tribes will soon discover the loosening of the Great Barrier and treat those outsiders with sufficient attention. The most important thing we should do now is to remain calm and wait for Trakl's delegation to persuade the surrounding tribes to attack with us and jointly defend the stability of the Great Barrier, rather than letting our Ankylosaur tribe shoulder this ancient mission alone."

"In this way, we can not only resolve the threats outside the great barrier, but also consume the power of the tribes. It can be said that we kill two birds with one stone!"

Having said this, he paused for a moment and nodded respectfully.

"I hope Your Majesty the Holy King will reconsider this." After hearing those earnest words, Izzy, whose chest was heaving violently, finally calmed down his breathing and fell silent.

indeed.

If the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom relies on its own strength, it will inevitably suffer certain losses even if it wins in the end. It is far better to bring other tribes along.

He admitted that he was a little overwhelmed by anger and lost his composure.

However, just as he was about to make a decision, hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the hall, and then a messenger covered in blood rushed in, panting and kneeling on the ground, shouting in a trembling voice:
"Your Majesty, something terrible has happened! The delegation you sent to the Central Desert... was intercepted and killed by the Sand Ridge Tribe!"

The moment he heard this, Zel's pupils suddenly shrank and he clenched the dragon bone scepter in his hand. The Holy Blood Warriors standing on one side of the hall stared with their eyes wide open, and their hands unconsciously pressed on the obsidian daggers at their waists.

The whole place was silent, without a single sound, as if one could hear a pin drop...

The silence was not broken until a voice came from the golden throne.

"Sand Ridge Tribe..."

Izzy's voice was eerie, accompanied by the sound of grinding teeth.

He stared at the messenger kneeling on the ground, as if squeezing out these words from between his teeth.

"you sure?"

The messenger did not dare to look up, his head was pressed firmly to the ground, and he stated in a trembling voice.

"I'm sure... Your Majesty! I'm not mistaken, those are the 'Quicksand Assassins' of the Sand Ridge Tribe! They ambushed us in the canyon, and almost the entire delegation was wiped out... Including Trakl, many young warriors died under their swords! These shameless guys have obviously surrendered to the outsiders, otherwise they would never be so bold!"

At this point, his voice took on a sad tone.

"Your Majesty! Before his death, Trakl still remembered the mission you gave him and tried to persuade the people of the Sand Ridge Tribe to change their ways, but they humiliated him without scruples and even cut off his head... You have to make a decision for him!"

boom--!
Izzy suddenly clenched his fist and punched the golden armrest hard, and a violent aura exploded in the hall.

His eyes seemed to burn with golden flames, filled with murderous intent.

"These shameless barbarians actually dared to openly betray the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom! Betray the ancient contract!" His voice was low and full of majesty, and he said angrily, "Very good... Since they chose death, then I will grant their wish!"

Izzy's gaze suddenly turned to a warrior who was kneeling on one knee before the great prince.

He was a Holy Blood Warrior wearing heavy obsidian armor. His entire body was covered in the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom's highest-grade obsidian-engraved armor. He had a burly figure and an aura as powerful as the abyss!

"Bakar!"

"I'm here." The Holy Blood Warrior Bakar knelt on one knee, his voice as steady as a mountain.

"I order you to lead 100,000 armored dragon soldiers to wipe out the Sand Ridge tribe and bring back their heart," Izzy's voice was icy cold and full of unquestionable majesty. "I will use their blood to irrigate the temple dedicated to the Dragon God. I will let all the tribes on the Janna continent who rely on the majesty of the Dragon God to recuperate know! They can keep their beliefs, but there is only one outcome for betraying the Dragon God - that is destruction!"

"I obey your command!" Bakar suddenly punched the breastplate. The sound of metal collision echoed in the hall, making people's heart frightened.

Feeling the overwhelming fighting spirit in the hall, High Priest Zel felt something was wrong in his heart, but in the end he said nothing and just sighed softly.

Before fighting the outside world, you must first make peace with the inside.

Especially since the Sand Ridge Tribe was located in the middle of the Janna Continent, right in the heart of the Holy Armor Dragon Empire, if these guys joined their enemies, the threat to them would be fatal.

Besides——

The surrounding tribes were watching them.

If they swallow this anger, the Dragon God's majesty will no longer be able to intimidate those villains.

Before dealing with the enemy from the sea, they must first wipe out the traitors from the land...

As the Holy King's order was issued, the war machine of the entire Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom started to move again, and a bloody expedition against the Sand Ridge Tribe was about to begin.

Especially after hearing the news of Trakl's death, all the lizardmen in the city of Assam became excited and wanted to rush into the depths of the central desert immediately to slaughter all the Sand Ridge tribe hiding in the sand dunes along with the scorpions and snakes they raised!
Unfortunately, just when the lizardmen of Assam City were united in their aggressive attack, two stupid gecko lizards wandered to the precarious city in the lake.

Looking up at the towering city of Assam, the faces of [Teammate Sacrifice to Heaven] and [Infinite Mana] were filled with excitement and shock.

This is modeling!
This light and shadow!
This special effect has a strong artistic flavor!

It's really awesome, okay?!
The entire huge city is like a stepped temple, surrounded by a pyramid in the center. The city gate is guarded by two huge dragon statues, whose lifelike patterns make them look like they are alive. Fully armed guards stand on both sides of the city gate, wearing tough rattan armor and holding obsidian spears. They are very imposing and monitor the Ankylosaurs entering and leaving the city.

Without exaggerating, although the copywriting and editing of "Catastrophe OL" is not very good, the art team is absolutely first-class. It is just a bunch of cold data and textures, but it can be made to look like a real world, and every brick and tile is full of rich historical heritage... This is too awesome!

[Teammate Sacrifice] He blew silently in his heart for two seconds, then said while supporting his knees with his claws.

"Oh my god... it's right in front of me. I'm so tired after walking all day."

[Infinite Mana] rolled his eyes.

"Come on, stop pretending and get up!"

Although this game is realistic, it is not so realistic that even muscle soreness can be reproduced one-to-one. Although the three-day long journey is indeed life-threatening, it is only a slight discomfort for them and it is not enough to make them unable to walk.

Of course, it is also possible that the bad planner chose the latter between authenticity and realism and took the initiative to lower the realism of the game.

After a short rest, the two men walked towards the gate of Assam City, swinging their tails.

Perhaps their movements were too ostentatious, or perhaps their appearance was too unique in the local area, but all the lizardmen they met along the way stared at them in amazement, standing still as if they had been petrified.

Is it that the NPC's memory has not been loaded yet?
[Teammate sacrifices to the heavens] I thought so in my mind, but I didn’t doubt it too much.

Finally arrived at the city gate.

Just as they were about to speak, the guards beside them suddenly widened their eyes and clenched their spears. One of the lizardmen who looked like an officer went even further, staring at them fiercely and shouting.

"Stop! Who are you?"

[Teammate Jitian] was startled and quickly raised his hands to indicate that he was not a bad person.

"Well, we're travelers, and we wanted to go into the city and take a look... no harm meant."

"traveller?"

what is that?
The guard obviously didn't believe it. He narrowed his eyes and looked them up and down, especially at the crystal hanging on their chest that emitted a faint magical light.

"Which tribe are you from? Why are you sneaking so close to the holy city?"

"Tribe? Uh...Gecko?"

The guard's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"what is that?"

That's what's ok.

The two players looked at each other, not knowing how to explain.

You ask me about the name that the dog planner came up with, but who should I ask?

Before they could discuss the matter, a group of guards surrounded them, pointing obsidian spears at them. At the same time, pedestrians on the street also gave way, and more and more ankylosaur soldiers rushed over from nearby, looking as if they were facing a great enemy.

The two of them immediately felt that something was not right.

Just as the atmosphere was tense, a lizardman in a priest's robe came from a distance and spoke in a deep voice.

"What happened? Why are you blocking the road into the city?"

His robe was embroidered with intricate golden patterns, and he held a scepter made of bones in his hand, which showed that he was of high status.

When the guards saw him, their expressions suddenly became serious. They immediately put away their weapons and bowed their heads respectfully.

"Reporting to the High Priest, these two lizardmen are acting suspiciously and trying to sneak into the Holy City. We suspect they are spies from outside."

The priest wrinkled his scales and looked at the two lizards at the door with suspicion... They were indeed a species he had never seen before.

Seeing this guy dressed like a charlatan, [Teammate Sacrifice] felt something in his heart, and quickly put on a pious expression, and spoke with a smile.

"Your Excellency has misunderstood! We... are pilgrims! We have heard of the sacred power of the Holy Lake, so we have come here to see the greatness of the Dragon God!"

After saying that, he winked at his teammate next to him, signaling the latter to say something as well.

"Ah... yes, yes, that's right!" Understanding his brother's hint, [Infinite Mana] nodded quickly, and piously drew a cross on his chest, then quickly drew a circle, "We have admired the Dragon God since we were young, and hope to pray to Him in person... If it doesn't work, forget it, we can come back another day."

The priest was slightly stunned, and his eyes glanced over them, as if he was wondering whether their words were credible.

After a moment, he smiled kindly and nodded.

"So you are pilgrims, then there is no need to worry. The Dragon God protects all believers, may His glory be upon you."

He turned to the guard and spoke calmly.

"Let them in. The gates of the holy city will not reject the devout believers."

The guards looked at each other. Although they were still a little skeptical, since it was the priest who spoke, they did not dare to disobey and had to retreat in disappointment.

[Teammate Sacrifice to Heaven] and [Infinite Mana] secretly breathed a sigh of relief and nodded and bowed to the priest repeatedly.

"Thank you, sir!"

"Dragon God bless you!"

Listening to their lame prayers, the priest smiled slightly, but didn't care, waved his hand and said.

"You're welcome. Now that you're here, follow me to the altar. I'll take you to the Dragon God Temple so you can experience the Dragon God's grace for yourself."

The two were delighted to hear this and quickly responded.

Good guy.

Not only did he escape danger, but he also got a tour guide for free?

There is such a good thing!
only……

Isn’t this benefit coming too easily?
Before I could think about it, the priest had already turned around and walked towards the pyramid with his scepter.

Feeling the warning gaze from the side, the two players glared back at the group of blind guards, and then followed behind the Lizardman Priest.

Passing through the prosperous capital of the Holy Ankylosaurus Kingdom, they were amazed by the prosperous scene before them. The silk fabrics here were so rich that they could be hung on the trees, and even the pottery jars were decorated with golden gold.

Looking at the two earth lizards who had never seen the world, the priest smiled slightly and told them the history of the Jana continent and Assam city.

"...The various tribes of the ancient continent coveted the wealth in our hands, so the Dragon God gave us this rich land and protected us with a great barrier, allowing us to stay away from wars and chaos and gain eternal peace under the protection of the Dragon God."

Upon hearing this, the two players subconsciously showed envious expressions.

“That’s pretty awesome.”

"I see... Then you haven't fought a war in a thousand years?"

There was a hint of displeasure on the priest's face, but more of it was disdain.

"That's not true. Although the Saint King governs the country with benevolence and justice, he is not afraid of war. On the contrary, our martial virtues are not inferior to our benevolence, and are even better than the latter. Whenever the surrounding tribes are restless, we will punish them. Often a battle involves hundreds of millions of soldiers, with tens of millions of casualties... In comparison, the barbarians of the Ancient Continent have never seen the world, and their fights are minor and not worthy of being on the stage."

He had already seen that the two lizardmen came from the ancient continent, but he did not attack them on the spot because of their piety towards the Dragon God.

The two players didn't hear the rebuttal in his words, but were a little confused.

Good guy.

The previous sentence is eternal peace, the next sentence is a killing spree.

You are being inconsistent.

[Teammate Sacrifice] was about to argue with him when he was quickly stopped by [Infinite Mana].

They're not here to cause trouble.

We can’t let this guy mistake them for lizards across the sea!

Moreover, although what the priest said was illogical, the prosperity of Assam City could indeed be seen with the naked eye.

Although the number of lizardmen living here is not as exaggerated as billions, millions are more than enough.

The streets are filled with lizardmen warriors holding obsidian weapons, alien slaves are diligently carrying goods, the air is filled with the smell of incense and sacrificial blood, and magnificent buildings can be seen everywhere, full of solemnity and mystery.

Finally, they came to a pyramid that towered into the sky.

This huge building made of granite is the most sacred place in the Holy Armor Dragon Kingdom - the Dragon Temple.

The priest led them up the stone steps and introduced them along the way: "...This is the altar where we worship the Dragon God. It is also the place where we worship to appease the Great Barrier. The reason why the Cana Continent has been able to enjoy good weather and maintain prosperity for thousands of years is all due to the grace of the Dragon God. Therefore, every year, thousands of believers come here to offer their most precious things to show their respect for the Dragon God."

The two seemed to understand what was said until they were taken to the top of the temple.

There, huge statues of the Dragon God stood around the altar, and their dark pupils seemed to be looking down at everyone who entered here.

At the same time, several priests were performing some kind of ritual. They were chanting ancient spells in a low voice, and the air was filled with a solemn and depressing atmosphere.

Just as the two players were watching this solemn ceremony, wondering why these guys were just chanting spells without offering any sacrifices, the priest leading the way suddenly turned around, smiled and handed each of them an obsidian dagger.

Looking at the two confused lizards, the priest spoke in a gentle but unquestionable tone.

"Come, pilgrims..."

“Give Him your hearts!”

"Dedicate your flesh and blood and your life as proof of your piety!"

"Your souls will return to the rich ancestral land, where you will begin a new reincarnation - you will gain true eternity, reach the other side beyond the mundane world, and become true descendants of the Dragon God!"
