Chapter 150: Artillery finalization, Zhang's home repair

Chapter 150: The artillery is finalized and returned to the hometown for repair
"Jiankun, did it succeed?" my uncle asked excitedly.

"It's almost there. I'll look at the data reported by each observation point later, and then I'll do some calculations. If the accuracy of the landing point is within the expected range, then this artillery can be considered preliminarily completed.

However, it will take some time before we can mass produce and equip our troops. We must first collect data on ballistics, the life of the artillery, the maximum firing speed, and other data."

"So it's basically done, just need some minor modifications?"

"Yes, aren't there four more barrels being manufactured? The materials of those barrels have been adjusted. I plan to select the best material ratio based on the test data and then finalize the design."

"Okay, I have informed the top leadership. A heavy artillery battalion is already undergoing initial training. They are led by veteran cadres with a high school education. They should be able to master artillery tactics quickly."

"A high school education is basically enough, but they need to improve their math. They need to study the booklet I gave them carefully. They will be allowed to graduate only if they score 80 or above in the exam. Otherwise, they will miss the chance to fight in actual combat if they can't hit the target accurately."

After waiting for about 5 minutes, the landing point data of three artillery radar stations and shooting ranges along the way were sent to Wang Jiankun's mobile phone one after another.

Wang Jiankun asked Zhizi to quickly calculate the ballistic data, and the conclusion was that it met the design requirements, which meant that the 155 howitzer was successfully manufactured.

In the next few days, Wang Jiankun spent most of his time at the artillery test site, observing and recording the artillery's test firing data, and spent a small part of his time returning to the base to assemble the four subsequent gun barrels into a towed howitzer.

Then, a large number of test shells were manufactured using the elements that were delivered.

Based on the test firing of 60 shells on the first day, Wang Jiankun improved and reduced the six types of shells originally designed and manufactured to two types, one with bottom exhaust and one without bottom exhaust.

The base-exhaust bomb was designed by Wang Jiankun with the help of Zhizi based on some scientific papers and aerodynamic research data. This type of bomb was originally developed by the Quebec Space Research Corporation in Canada, and then awarded to the Austrian Vorster-Alpine Company for production.

The range of grenades using a bottom exhaust structure will be greatly increased. Currently, the range data obtained by Wang Jiankun's test can reach 45 kilometers.

The principle is to add a gas device to the bottom of the shell. After the shell leaves the barrel, this device will produce gas to fill the low-pressure area formed at the tail.

Because when a shell flies at high speed, a low-pressure area is generated at the tail, and this low-pressure area generates a pulling force on the shell.

This is equivalent to the shell being dragged by a backward force, which greatly reduces its flight distance and reduces its range.

This phenomenon can be observed in daily life. For example, behind a large rock in a rapids, there will be a backwater area where the water surface is flat. The water flowing down at high speed on both sides will swirl here. This area is a low-pressure area, which is often deeper because the sand and gravel are carried away by the rotating water.

There are many advantages to using bottom exhaust for artillery shells.

First of all, the structure is simple and basically does not occupy the weight share of the warhead.

Secondly, the air resistance is small and the flight speed is fast, which shortens the flight time of the projectile, reduces the impact of weather conditions on the flight of the projectile, and improves accuracy.

The third point is that the working pressure of the gas device is low, the requirements for the shell are low, the process is simple and the cost is low.

Since there are so many advantages, why not use bottom-exhaust bullets for all of them?

This requires choosing the appropriate range based on the battlefield situation.

Generally, this kind of heavy artillery is equipped at the brigade level, and the intelligence support force at the brigade level can only maintain effective reconnaissance within 30 kilometers most of the time. Beyond this range, it is difficult to maintain effective long-term reconnaissance.

Therefore, for brigade-level troops, the use of non-base exhaust bombs with a range of about 30 kilometers is sufficient. Compared with the 45-kilometer range, non-base exhaust bombs are more suitable.

Therefore, Wang Jiankun also produced a large number of non-base exhaust bullets for ballistic data testing.

In the future, when the South Liberation Front sells this type of artillery to the Persians, it will mainly promote base-discharging shells with a range of 45 kilometers.

The Persian battlefield is mainly fought in the desert with relatively flat terrain. Then we can sell them gun-aiming radars. This combination will greatly enhance the survivability of this cannon on the battlefield.

At that time, after the Babylonian artillery fired the shells, the Persian side set up this cannon outside its range based on the coordinates obtained by radar calculations, and bombarded their artillery positions with bottom-discharge shells.

I believe that after the Persians try it out, they will definitely place a large order.

At present, only a very small number of countries are able to manufacture this type of artillery and artillery shells, and their manufacturing costs are definitely much greater than those of the South Liberation Front.

Therefore, Wang Jiankun is very confident about the export of this artillery and artillery shells.

On December 1982, 12, Christmas in the West, Wang Jiankun finally completed the design and finalization of the 25mm howitzer and two types of artillery shells.

The final data of the artillery is as follows:

Weight: 3.46 tons

Maximum range: 31.8 km for non-base discharge shells, 45.6 km for base discharge shells
Maximum rate of fire: 12 rounds per minute

Barrel life: 1200 rounds

Highway speed: 70 km/h

Off-road: 25 km/h

The data of the two types of shells were also finalized.

The base-exhaust bomb is 960 mm long and has a charge of 38 kg of TNT.

The non-base-exhaust bomb is 945 mm long and has a charge of 39 kg of TNT.

The killing radius is similar, both within a radius of 50 meters.

"Uncle, this artillery has been tested. Please keep the corresponding data confidential. We can notify them to start mass production now."

"Okay, I've been waiting for your data. The electric arc furnace steelmaking workshop and the electric slag remelting workshop of the steel plant have installed the equipment and carried out debugging. We are just waiting for you to confirm the final formula."

"That's pretty fast. I thought I had to make it at the base first using the equipment I use to make experimental products!"

"Of course we have to speed up the arrangements. We have also temporarily modified the corresponding power supply circuit, and a hydropower station is dedicated to this new steelmaking workshop."

“Is the electricity shortage still a problem?”

"It's in short supply, but it takes a long time to build a coal-fired power plant, and hydropower stations are still being renovated and newly built, so currently only three electric arc furnaces and two electric slag remelting furnaces are installed and ready for production. The other ones you made have not yet been installed. They can only be installed and put into use after the electricity is gradually increased."

"Well, industrial development is like this, one link after another. So, next month I will build a 300-megawatt high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor in the base, and then allocate some of the electricity to this new steel plant."

"Building a 300-megawatt nuclear reactor next month? Isn't that a bit hasty? With the current power supply, we can already produce 12 155mm howitzers per month."

"A monthly output of 12 guns is still too low. We need to reach a monthly output of at least 24 guns. And don't forget to build an artillery shell factory, which is also a big power consumer."

"Cannonball factory? Jiankun, didn't you say we could find a domestic factory to manufacture some parts? How about having them manufacture the cannonballs?"

"The shells are made in China? No, this shell uses a lot of new technologies, and some of the parts I made with my superpowers cannot be leaked out.

In this way, the shell and the propellant bag can be outsourced to domestic factories. The technologies of these two parts are almost transparent, and they are also the two parts that consume the most power.

The primer and the front fuse are produced in our own factory, and the assembly is also done here." "Just the shell and propellant? Can the TNT inside be purchased from China as well?"

"Uncle, what's going on? Have you heard from any people or factories in China? Why do you want to find a local OEM so badly?"

"Jiankun, the electricity problem has really reached a bottleneck, and it will take a long time to build using conventional methods. It will take at least until the second half of next year to start to ease. But don't you still have an armored vehicle project to start research and development? By then, a lot of factories will need electricity.

After receiving my message last month, your uncle contacted some of his previous connections and found several factories in Guangxi and Sichuan. Some can process various metal parts, some can produce most chemical products, and some can produce some electronic components. So I plan to find them to do the OEM work first, and we will build our factory at the same time, but we will take our time to put it into production. "

"Is that so? That's fine, but I still insist that the assembly work must be done inside the Nanjie Array, especially the parts that use some of the precision parts I made, which cannot be sent out."

"Okay, the assembly work doesn't consume that much electricity, so it's fine to produce it in the base. I will arrange to build factories for the production of other parts, but not so quickly."

"Well, not all parts need to be produced in factories. For those with low technical content, which can be purchased in large quantities in China or Southeast Asia, South Africa, Brazil and other countries, we should focus on purchasing them. We can just build a small test line as a backup."

"I think so too. For example, for some chemical products, we cannot build a whole chemical industry now. One reason is that we don't have the talent, and the other is that the corresponding supporting facilities require a huge investment of manpower and material resources. So in the early stage, we still focus on purchasing basic raw materials, and then further processing them in the base.

We will build these basic industries after we can divide Myanmar into two or complete control of this country.”

The uncle gradually told Wang Jiankun about his future plans.

He had been shocked by Wang Jiankun's display of superpowers. Whatever Wang Jiankun said to build, he would build it. However, after more than three months of actual operation, he still found that Wang Jiankun's superpowers were insufficient.

In fact, the greatest role his superpowers can play is in research and development and the manufacturing of some cutting-edge weapons and equipment, while the development of basic industries still has to follow general rules. It is impossible to eat a big fat man in one breath and complete the basic industrial construction of a category in a few months.

After more than half a year of preparation, the current steel industry is still only half-finished. Only the construction of the refined steel part has been completed. In addition, it is still restricted by electricity and cannot exert its full production capacity.

Not only is there a shortage of electricity, but the use of manpower has almost reached its limit. Currently, there are more than 120 million people in the Southern Liberation Army's territory, and almost all young and middle-aged people have been arranged. Except for agricultural production, those who are serving in the army and studying for further education have been recruited to various construction sites or factories.

The number of people involved in agricultural production is still decreasing. Fortunately, agricultural machinery has been purchased to make up for the manpower loss, otherwise the food supply of the Southern Liberation Front might be problematic.

After listening to his uncle's words, Wang Jiankun realized that he had indeed been a little too hasty in recent times and overestimated the role of his superpowers.

Although he can use his superpowers to build hydroelectric power stations, thermal power stations, and some large factories at all costs, this is equivalent to exposing this ability to the public.

Even if he built all these, the machines and equipment still needed people to operate them, and Wang Jiankun could not yet create humans. Even the experimental robots he had built before were not good enough. Those robots were slow in movement, easily damaged, and could not complete complex operations.

So he thought for a long time and said, "Uncle, thank you for reminding me. If you find that I did something wrong in the future, please tell me in time. In this way, the production of this artillery will proceed according to the original plan. The gun carriage and some non-important parts can also be outsourced to domestic factories first. As for the armored vehicle project, we will think about it carefully and make careful arrangements according to our current capabilities, and not force it to start."

"Jiankun, I'm glad you think this way. I know you're worried for our organization, but you can't expose your abilities right now. We're still very weak and can't protect you and your family."

"Yes, our strength is still too weak. We have to accumulate strength silently."

After expressing his feelings, Wang Jiankun discussed with his uncle which parts could be outsourced to domestic factories, which parts should be purchased globally, and which parts should be manufactured in Hong Kong or at the base.

Wang Jiankun remade the drawings based on the list discussed, and gave them to his uncle in different categories, asking him to arrange the follow-up matters.

He returned to the base and asked the airship unit to arrange a small stratospheric high-speed airship to take him back to his hometown in China.

The last time he took a cargo airship, which was too slow and took 15 hours to fly from northern Myanmar to China. In fact, it was just for him, so there was no need for such a large airship.

So he asked Tomoko to design an airship for his personal use for fast travel. The airbag of this airship is only 50 meters long and its shape is similar to that of a cargo airship, both of which are triangular wing shapes.

There are two super-powerful electric motors at the rear, which can accelerate the airship to 50 kilometers per hour at an altitude of 560 kilometers. However, this speed sacrifices the endurance. After flying at high speed, it can only fly slowly at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour on the return trip.

He is the only one who dares to parachute from an altitude of 50 kilometers. He has super powers. Even if the anti-gravity suit and parachute malfunction, he has a way to solve the problem in the air. Others do not have this ability.

In the early morning of December 12, Wang Jiankun landed accurately in the mountains above the base. He returned to the base in the dark and rested there until 28 o'clock in the morning before getting up.

After getting up, he went to the material warehouse on the back ground and used the metal ingots that his father had transported over the past month to make a motorcycle engine.

4500 motorcycles for trade-in have already been delivered, and last month the Jialing plant placed an order for 6 medium-sized engines.

They have completed the trial production of the new model and are currently planning to produce a small batch and put it on the market. If the sales are good and the vehicle does not have too many quality problems during actual use, they will increase the production of this mid-sized motorcycle.

In the past, they had no choice. Developing new engines on their own required a lot of equipment and a lot of time to test relevant data. Now with the engines and prototypes provided by Wang Jiankun, they can develop new models much faster.

And now they have the support of four-axis CNC machine tools. Some difficult-to-process parts no longer require the few level 8 workers to work overtime. CNC machine tools can be used to process them quickly and efficiently.

In addition to the four four-axis CNC machine tools they purchased in exchange, they also raised US$4 this month to purchase two more. I heard that they are still raising funds to purchase more CNC machine tools.

It seems that Jialing Factory is very fond of this equipment that can greatly improve their productivity, and they hope to get more after using it.

Wang Jiankun will first produce 3 medium-sized motorcycle engines, and then make another batch in February next year, after which the county's engine factory will be able to produce them.

According to the information mentioned in the daily briefing sent by Chen Xingdong, the motorcycle engine factory in the county has now completed the construction of the foundation and is building the outer wall. In about half a month, the outer wall will be completed and the roof will be capped.

The corresponding production personnel have also been selected and sent to Shenzhen by Chen Xingdong for training for half a month. In about half a month, they will be able to come back and participate in the installation of machinery and equipment while conducting trial production.

After the engine was manufactured, Wang Jiankun came to the school and found Principal Wang to ask him about the subsequent options for the students in the microcomputer training class.

From October to now, the first three-month training is about to be completed. Wang Jiankun has given them several projects. They can choose to form a team or work alone. The development fees will be paid based on the project completion status and timeliness.

Principal Wang gave Wang Jiankun the filled-in intention forms to everyone. He took a look and found that most of the teams were composed of 3 to 5 people to participate in a project. There was no one who was extremely confident in his or her skills and chose to complete a project independently.

"Jiankun, you charge such high prices for these software development projects, won't you lose money?"

"Of course we will lose money in the early stage, but the company can afford it. If these software can be used on a large scale in the future, it is still possible to make money back. Just regard it as an initial investment."

"Is that so? That's good. When will the next batch start?"

"Principal, are there any students in the school who still want to sign up? Aren't all of them from outside the school?"

"There are 10 students from within the school who have signed up. The rest are from outside the school. They have all been tested with the new test paper you gave them, and all have passed."

"There are still 10 left. That's fine. The next batch will start on the evening of January 83, 1. I will give them two classes that day."

"January 1th? I'll make a note of it and have someone notify them later. By the way, Jiankun, the next batch of people will be here for training. Where are you going to do your project?"

"It's still in that classroom. People outside the school can come and use the computer during the day. People inside the school can come and use the computer based on their own wishes. If they don't care whether they take the college entrance examination or not, then they should focus on programming as soon as possible."

"There are a few students whose academic performance is still good. They should probably just take some time out in the evening to come to the computer room."

"That's fine too. Let the computer room manager take care of the management and record keeping. If we squeeze in some time to do it, maybe it will be faster."

After talking with the principal about computer training, he left the office building and went to the second-year classroom, ready to attend a few classes and relax his brain.

During that period of time, I was busy helping the Southern Liberation Army to establish the steel industry and artillery production line. All day long, I was either busy using my superpowers to manufacture various machines and equipment, or recording and analyzing the test data of artillery and corresponding equipment. My mind was always tense and I didn't have a moment to relax. Now, before the exam starts, it would be nice to listen to some classes and relax.
