Warhammer: Angron Training Manual

Chapter 135: Unnecessary Show of Power

Chapter 135: Unnecessary Show of Power

"It seems that my brother does not welcome my arrival."

Angron said in the encrypted communication channel.

Only Qin Xia and the legion officers could hear it.

The officers said nothing.

"But I don't understand."

"How have I offended him? Even if I have offended him, why would he do this?"

"What else can he gain except making things difficult for us when we fight side by side in the future?"

Angron said.

The officers remained silent.

Having fought alongside the Iron Warriors, they had a relatively good understanding of Perturabo.

To be honest, they were not surprised at all by Perturabo's behavior. Sometimes no one could figure out Perturabo's thoughts and purposes.

Kiel once witnessed with his own eyes that during a war meeting, Perturabo grabbed an Iron Warrior who was kneeling obediently with his head down. The Iron Warrior had not talked back or resisted orders, but was still beaten until blood came out of all his seven orifices.

This behavior seems to be random, depending on which Iron Warrior is unlucky.

So the officers kept silent, for they had no idea what Perturabo was thinking.

Maybe... I'm not in a good mood.

But it is difficult to explain this reason to one's own Primarch in this situation.

But in front of Angron, the emotions derived from what a person is thinking can let Angron know what a person is thinking much better than just talking.

Angron was aware of the officers' concerns about Perturabo's confusing actions.

"Do not go and tell my strange brother. Stay here," Angron suddenly said to Dantioch. "I know what would happen if you did."

Dantioch placed his hand on his chest and saluted.

“It seems that there are still descendants of mine on this planet.” Angron turned and looked down at Kiel.

Kiel saluted. "It should be that after those of us who had an audience with the Primarch left, the rest of the XII Legion was dispatched here to assist the Iron Warriors in the battle."

"About fifty thousand people."

Someone reported the number of people who were transferred from other war zones to assist the Iron Warriors in continuing the fight after Kiel led 10,000 people away.

But the person who reported the number was not anyone from the 12th Legion, nor was it Qin Xia who was thinking about how to deal with the matter, but Dantioch who was standing in front of many people.

"After Commander Kiel led 10,000 men away, 50,000 men were drawn from the 12th Legion and have been fighting here ever since. They are being watched by my brothers and are forbidden to come to the landing point to see you," Dantioch continued.

"This is a provocation," Kiel said to the Primarch. "If your offspring violates the joint combat discipline or fails to do their best, the Iron Warriors must produce corresponding evidence before they can monitor or deal with your offspring."

Angron nodded.

Kiel looked at Dantioch again. "Can you, the Fourth Legion, provide evidence to prove that my battle-brothers should be under your care instead of coming here to meet their Gene-Father?"

Under the cold gaze of the commander of the 12th Legion, Dantioch remained silent for a few seconds.

Then the Iron Warrior spread his hands.

"Then why did the Lord of Iron treat my battle-brothers like this?" Kiel asked again.

Dantioch made no reaction this time.

"It's incredible that the people of the 12th Legion can be kept under control. You, the Fourth Legion, are quite capable." Qin Xia said with a smile.

"That's because they know that their Gene Father has arrived on this planet. Whatever they do next, they must obey the orders of their owner." Kiel said, "Those who were not lucky enough to meet you were transferred here to replace the duties of us lucky ones, and now, they are waiting for the orders of the Primarch."

Angron could already imagine what it was like in other places.

After Kiel led 10,000 men away, another 50,000 soldiers from the 12th Legion were transferred here to replace Kiel and his men.

They await good news from the Legion Commander, and the day when they too will have the honor of meeting the Gene-Father, but they are now being guarded by the Iron Warriors.

They would certainly not accept the supervision of the Iron Warriors, but they already knew that the Primarch had come to this planet, and as weapons they should obey the Primarch's orders on their next actions.

The two sides are on the verge of a war.

"Two solutions." Qin Xia said in the encrypted communication channel, "First, I will use my psychic power to teleport Perturabo here. Second, we don't go to see Perturabo, but go back to the flagship to command the battle, and the others will directly join the battle."

Angron thought so too, and he even considered more - the possibility of 61,200 Legionnaires plus auxiliary troops defeating the Iron Warriors.

But he felt that a civil war would be inappropriate anyway. No matter how many of the Iron Warriors disapproved of Perturabo's unnecessary show of force, none of them should die in an internal conflict between two legions.

Using psychic energy to teleport Perturabo would only intensify the conflict, but Angron and Qin Xia had the same idea as the other method.

"Fight," Angron said, "but I will not return to the flagship. I will fight with you."

Keel saluted.

……

The positions built by the Iron Warriors on Nofsendak V spread across the mountains.

Since Kil left with 10,000 people, the Iron Warriors have captured several planets in succession. Now Planet No. 5 has become the last nest of the alien enemies.

A kind of arthropods attacked the defense line built by the Iron Warriors. They looked far more imposing than the defense line, but not because they were huge and heavy, but because there were so many of them.

This hive-mind alien race can sustain a non-stop attack.

The human empire's army maintained its defenses here not only with huge and extremely solid fortresses, but also with artillery of amazing caliber that fired continuously.

The artillery group will bombard every hour, and then at noon there will be a larger-scale and faster bombardment, coupled with the orbital bombardment of the fleet. This terrifying attack is like a whistle or a declaration - the humans on the defense line must break out of the defense line and start an active attack.

Now humans are about to attack again.

In the middle section of the defense line that was under the most violent attack from the aliens, the 36th Company of the 12th Legion was confronting the Iron Warriors.

The captain of the 36th Company and his guards stood in front of the soldiers, holding chainsaw axes and bolt pistols, with their guns pointed forward.

The Iron Warriors guarding them blocked the entrances and exits of the fortress.

The number of people on both sides is about the same.

The atmosphere was suffocatingly tense.

But the only side that was on the verge of a fight was the 12th Legion. The Iron Warriors held their weapons but did not point them at the soldiers of the 36th Company of the 12th Legion.

The 36th Company was waiting for orders from the Primarch. If the Primarch ordered them to kill the Iron Warriors in front of them and meet him at the landing point, the 36th Company would do it without hesitation.

And if the Primarch's orders were to keep silent, they would do so reluctantly, but still.

This fortress is like a powder keg. Angron's words can ignite it or allow it to continue to accumulate power.

Not only here in the middle fortress, but also the soldiers of the Twelfth Legion and the Iron Warriors guarding them in other places on the defense line are in the same situation.

The 50,000 soldiers of the XII Legion scattered along the defense line were not fortunate enough to be taken away by Kiel to Nuceria to meet the Primarch. They were transferred by the Emperor from the expeditionary fleet to Novshendak to assist the Fourth Legion Iron Warriors in the battle. While fighting, they fantasized about what their Primarch looked like and what his personality was like.

They wanted to see Angron.

But now he is stopped by the people he once fought alongside.

If they had not known that Angron had arrived in the Novsendak system and that they needed their master's orders as weapons, they would have done something terrible.

As for the Iron Warriors, they are more determined to carry out the orders of the Gene-Father, but also feel a little helpless.

"Leave the line after the orbital bombardment and attack the enemy."

Every captain of the 12th Legion heard the voice of the legion commander echoing in the communication channel.

This was not an encrypted communication, nor was it an internal communication within the Legion, but rather a communication on a larger scale that could be heard by everyone on the Iron Warriors side.

The captain of the 36th Company, who was in the middle of the defense line, stared at the Iron Warriors in front of him. After the teeth of the chain saw axe in his hand stopped turning, he said to the Iron Warriors in front of him: "We are going to fight. In the discipline of the Legion, disobeying orders is a capital crime. Should we kill you all and then go to fight, or should you go away?"

The Iron Warriors were silent for a moment.

The officer known as the "Warsmith" replied: "We need to consult the Lord of Steel, and then get his response before we react."

The men of the 36th Company pushed aside the Iron Warriors who were blocking their way and walked out of the fortress.

The same is true along the entire line of defense.

Fifty thousand men from the 12th Legion left their shelter on the defense line and came out to the outside world, ready to launch an attack.

Orbital bombardment is already falling from the sky.

The battleship's light spears tore through the mountains and destroyed the plains, and also wiped out most of the aliens that were attacking the defense line.

There was so much plasma in the planet's air that it caused the aurora phenomenon, making this disgusting planet full of nests and slime quagmires finally look a little better.

The aliens will soon fill the deep pit in front of the defense line again, but before that, the offensive-savvy XII Legion will launch an attack.

Fifty thousand soldiers prepared for the attack, and before they stepped out of the defense line, a number appeared on the tactical eyepiece - 31.

"The killing of mortals is not permitted."

Kiel's command sounded again.

The 50,000 people on the defense line have launched an attack.

The captain of the 36th Company led his soldiers across the deep pit left by the orbital bombardment and pounced on the aggressive swarm of insects.

The Storm Hawk gunboats flew in a formation over the 36th Company. They were carrying huge cargoes so their flying speed was not very fast.

The gunboat covered the alien swarm in front with fire, and slowly descended until it dropped one poison blade tank after another, then changed direction and flew away.

The company commander saw a device under the gunboat that he had never seen before. There was no connection between the device and the Poison Blade tank mounted underneath it, but it could still hang the tank.

Probably a miniaturized gravity manipulation technology.

The gunboats and poison blade tanks are painted in white and blue, which are the colors of the 12th Legion.

After being deployed, the poison blade tanks immediately opened fire forward. The hatch of the leading tank opened and a Space Marine came out and looked back.

"Captetra!" The commander of the 36th Company was surprised to see a familiar face.

The Space Marine in the tank nodded and went back inside.

More war machines are being deployed on the battlefield.

The next wave of gunboats flew over and once again covered the large swarm of insects in front of the 36th Company with firepower. This time, they dropped not tanks, but knight mechas.

A total of forty knight mechas were deployed in front of the 36th Company and around the poison blade tanks.

They looked different from the knights of common knight families. They had a uniform white and blue color scheme, and the shape of their weapons was also uniform, which meant that they belonged to an organization similar to a legion, rather than a family that could express their individuality.

The experienced company commander immediately realized that such a concentrated deployment meant that the area in front of the middle line of defense would become the battlefield where the fighting would be the most intense.

The addition of some companies that came from other places once again confirmed the company commander's judgment.

But the deployment isn’t over yet.

When those strange aircraft without tail flames dived into the ground, a large number of mortal soldiers that the company commander had never seen before poured out from the cargo holds of the aircraft. They were wearing strange silver decorations.

Another round of aircraft arrived, and this time it was the 8th Assault Company that emerged from them, and they were also wearing those silver decorations.

Just as the company commander was curious about what that was, new armed forces were deployed around the 36th Company.

hum-

The sound of trumpets echoed across the battlefield.

That was the non-verbal command delivery method used by the 12th Legion, issued by a large vehicle. When the communication array was affected, this horn sound would replace the communication channel to convey orders from superiors.

That horn sound was one of a series of less commonly used horn sounds - be careful to avoid the giant war machines.

A crack about thirty meters high appeared in the open space further ahead.

The ground began to shake and ice and snow suddenly spread.

A twenty-five-meter-tall war machine walked out of the rift.

There were two people standing on the heavy armor that seemed to bend the spine of the war machine.

One of them was a psyker. He lowered his hand and the ice rift behind him suddenly closed.

And beside the psyker stood the Primarch of the XII Legion.

The 36th Company that did not have the honor of going to Nuceria to meet the Primarch, as well as the other companies that broke out of the defense line, had no idea what the Primarch looked like.

but.

When their eyes fell upon the massive figure with the chainsaw axe upon the great war machine, or even upon the vague outline of the slow-moving, mountain-like mass, they knew in an instant that it was their Primarch.

Angron.
