Chapter 548: The Fallen Conspiracy

Chapter 548: The Fallen Conspiracy
The Navigator's Sanctuary became a makeshift prison.

The heavy gates that once separated the Navigator from the lesser sailors were now used to imprison the Navigator and Typhon.

Just when Ku'gath arrived, Qin Xia took special action to protect the navigators, preventing them from all dying and causing Mortarion's legion fleet to lose its ability to navigate in the subspace.

These survivors were also confined in the sanctuary and could not leave for the time being.

Mortarion versus Typhon.

The Primarch and Typhon, who had grown up with him, looked at each other but said nothing.

Both of them were in turmoil and had a lot of words to say.

time flies.

Qin Xia, who killed Kugath and left, suddenly walked into the sanctuary.

Typhon first felt a strong psychic fluctuation, and then saw the Lord of the White Knights leading a team of think tanks through the gate and into the sanctuary.

The rebellious chief captain believed that being able to use psychic power at will was a talent and a luxury. Even if Qin Xia's psychic power level was not even one-fifth of his own, he would still be able to fight one against a thousand.

He was captured alive by the Lord of the White Knights and was convinced.

"Where are your ship and people hidden?"

Mortarion leaned against the pillar with his arms crossed, only his head looking at Qin Xia.

Qin Xia said nothing and brought the White Knight think tanks to Typhon.

Two rows of think tanks made way.

Then the Primarch, Typhon and the navigators present saw a cute little man walking out of the way made by the Librarians.

Watcher Kang inserted the ends of his arms into the left and right sleeves of his robe, and the dark hole hidden under the robe was first aimed at Mortarion, and then at the Navigators.

Qin Xia left just now just to quietly bring Watcher Kang and several think tanks out of the pocket universe.

Kang will take on an important responsibility next.

"What does this brat want to do?" Mortarion looked at Kang with an unfriendly look.

As the son of the Emperor, a humanist, and someone who had lived under xenos slavery for a long time, Mortarion hated all xenos. Even though he knew what the robed men called "Watchers" were when he worked side by side with the First Legion, he still hated this kind of alien.

Kang didn't need Mortarion's favor, he just did his job diligently to complete the tasks assigned to him by Qin Xia.

The robed man turned his head to the left, and half of the navigators present involuntarily left their relatives and stood to the left of the robed man.

Kang then looked at Qin Xia.

Qin Xia knew that the person standing on the left was the one Kang considered to be "corrupted by chaos."

This kind of "belief" is by no means the kind of suspicion and speculation of the future Inquisition, but as a creation of the Ancient Saints, the Watchers who have been fighting against Chaos have their own way of identifying Chaos corruption.

Qin Xia gave Chief Think Tank Varis a look.

The Chief Librarian saluted and stepped forward, coming to the Navigators on the left side of the Watcher.

"You are almost certain to die."

Varis thought to himself.

But he had to do it differently.

"After identification, it was found that you were all affected by the warp storm. This influence not only caused you to lead the fleet into the storm, but also caused you to become mentally ill and your bodies to mutate."

At this point, Varis took out the video footage that Typhon had previously used as evidence, which showed a mutated navigator screaming heart-wrenchingly.

"It's not that there is no cure for this effect, but the treatment risk is higher."

"If you are willing to receive treatment, then leave with me."

After Varis finished speaking, the navigators that Kang believed to be corrupted immediately stepped forward and gathered around the Chief Think Tank.

They were so decisive because, firstly, Qin Xia had just saved them, and the color of the think tank's armor in front of them was similar to that of Qin Xia's armor, which meant they were a group of people and could be trusted.

Second, as navigators, they are extremely clear about what the negative effects of the subspace will lead to. Once mutated, the best outcome is the destruction of the soul.

Varis turned and led the corrupted navigators away.

This is not entirely a cheat, he will provide treatment to these navigators, but the success rate of the treatment is... slightly lower.

Varis coaxed away the affected navigators by offering some hope rather than immediate despair.

This method cannot deceive a Primarch.

When Mortarion saw Qin Xia's eyes, he could interpret that the navigator standing on the left was corrupted by Chaos, and Varis actually wanted to kill them.

However, those who have been corrupted by Chaos are currently beyond help, and there is no cure. Mortarion looked at Typhon... and the same thing happened to Typhon. This comrade, close friend, subordinate... is beyond help.

"It's his turn." Qin Xia wanted to walk over and read Typhon's mind.

Mortarion immediately reached out to stop it.

Rather than letting Qin Xia read his mind, the Primarch would rather question Typhon personally about some things.

At this moment, the Primarch was like a person betrayed by his loved ones. He had to ask his loved ones why they betrayed him... even if he already knew the reason.

"You've been fooled by him." Typhon took the initiative to speak. "The bastard Qin Xia just wants to tie you to the chariot to fulfill a pathetic tyrant's doomed daydream. If you persist in your delusion, you will get death and destruction instead of eternity and power."

"What would have happened if I had been on your side?" Mortarion asked.

"I will crush the heads of seventy-seven and forty-nine navigators, and then seven messengers of the Father God will descend here and grant us everything we seek."

"Father God's messenger? Are you talking about those ugly and disgusting things just now?" "They are beautiful... maybe not in your opinion, but don't you understand that if a person wants to get something, he must pay a price?"

Mortarion looked at Typhon in disbelief.

He was sure Typhon was mad.

Horus once held a secret meeting to tell the Primarchs about the dangers of Chaos, but Mortarion thought it was all idealistic nonsense. It was not until he witnessed everything with his own eyes that he understood the power of Chaos corruption.

"You are not yourself anymore." Mortarion looked sad. He threw away his sickle and sat on the ground dejectedly.

Mortarion has complicated feelings towards Typhon, including hatred, trust, jealousy, admiration... everything.

"You should believe me. When I learned about the existence of Chaos, I thought they were evil and hypocritical, just as Horus had instilled in us. But when I truly understood them, I realized that Chaos is the only one."

Typhon took the initiative to mention his feelings when he came into contact with Chaos, because he believed that he was not being interrogated, but persuading Mortarion to stand on the side of Chaos.

"Everything I do, as I said, is for our pursuit."

"You know very well that there is no difference between the Emperor and the alien tyrants who tried to control you. They all treat you as a tool instead of giving you true fatherly love."

"But Father Nurgle loves us, loves every living thing."

"The Emperor asked you to call him father because he wanted to use you as a tool to ascend to godhood, but the loving father is different. He just loves you."

Hearing the last sentence, Mortarion's body trembled, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Have you been trying to sideline me and my sons from command since Horus ordered us to change our recruitment grounds, and then used a storm to move most of the Legion to other places to make them your lackeys?" Mortarion asked.

Typhon did not nod or shake his head, for this was a fact the Primarch already recognised.

When Qin Xia said that the Death Guard attacked the Think Tank fleet, Mortarion was skeptical.

But just now when he was killing those trusted warriors of Typhon, Mortarion discovered that they were all warriors of the Barbarus descent.

Thinking back to what Qin Xia said, Typhon's betrayal, and the previous warp storm...

For the Primarch, things that he had not known before could soon be inferred through these clues.

"Eighty percent of the Barbarus people were lost in the storm that caused severe damage to the entire legion fleet." Mortarion turned his head and looked at Qin Xia, "They were all instigated by Typhon."

"How many Barbarus traitors are there?" Qin Xia asked.

Mortarion fell into deep thought.

A few seconds later, the Primarch's answer was not the number of traitors, but how many people he had left: "There are still 50,000 Death Guard space warriors that I can mobilize and command."

Qin Xia took a deep breath.

Taking into account the new recruits previously recruited from the planet Barbarus, plus the existing Barbarus people in the Legion... In short, if the Death Guard who betrayed Mortarion come to attack, they can kill all the loyal Death Guard with overwhelming advantage.

Fortunately, Typhon planned to summon demons to corrupt Mortarion. Otherwise, if he wanted to kill Mortarion, Typhon would have directly summoned the rebels and Mortarion would have been finished before the think tank fleet arrived.

"They are not traitors," Typhon said. "They chose to support my fellow Barbarus. They are not traitors."

Mortarion glared at Typhon.

"They are the ones you have abandoned," Typhon continued.

"When you decided to follow Horus' advice and ordered the conscription world to be changed to Kerr, you abandoned them."

"At the secret meeting, Horus told you, the Primarch brothers, that he believed that Barbarus was corrupted by Chaos... The implication was that every Barbarus-born Space Marine was not clean. So what would happen when you promised him to change the recruitment location?"

"The Barbarus will gradually decrease in number until their numbers are so small that they can no longer do anything, and you will kill them all."

Hearing this, Qin Xia believed that it was indeed Horus's move that indirectly led to 80% of the Barbarus descendants of the Death Guard supporting Typhon.

No matter what Horus thinks, panic will spread among the Barbarus, forcing them to choose to support Typhon, who will definitely stand on their side for the future.

If Mortarion had not recruited some new soldiers from Kerr and the original Terran soldiers in the Legion, he would have become a commander without any troops.

"Not all Barbarus support you." Mortarion stood up. "There are at least 20,000 Barbarus in the fleet. They support me, so they were not taken into the warp by you."

"Yes, they are excluded by me. But if you insist on having your way, they will die in the Emperor's hypocritical cause before they can be cleansed by you and Horus." said Typhon.

"They won't become like you, a pathetic lackey, a creeper!"

"They are pathetic, and so are you."

"..."

Qin Xia saw that Mortarion's questioning session was over, so he took out the Sword of Sirius from the Warp, ready to skip the meaningless quarrel between the Primarch and Typhon.

The appearance of the Sirius Sword caused torment to everyone, including Qin Xia.

The Sword of Sirius already possesses anti-psychic power, and it also incorporates the ancient anti-psychic creation "Irrational Lament". Its mere appearance will cause all soul creatures to feel pain and torment.

"You can't kill me..." Typhon said, "This kind of creature that uses psionics to counter psionics... is not even as good as the ancient relic you just used to kill Ku'gath!"

"You have a soul, but Kugath doesn't, so the Sword of Sirius will be more useful against you instead of that ancient relic." Qin Xia raised the sword and walked towards Typhon.

"Even if I die in the true sense, I can be reshaped! Just like Ku'gath!" Typhon became excited and tried to break free from the psychic constraints imposed on him by Qin Xia.

"Rebuilding is not the same as resurrection. At least for you, Typhon No. 1, you will really be dead."

Qin Xia cut off Typhon's head with one sword.

The betrayer's soul and body were torn apart by the Sirius Sword at the same time.
